I've been looking into the uses of coconut oil and man are they lengthy.
This stuff is a gold mine! Some that may interest y'all... Helps to tighten and regenerate skin cells, reduces wrinkles, curbs nausea, and when rubbed into the scalp daily it helps to regenerate hair cells for hair regrowth.
Google it, I'm sold :-)

I'm 33 5'4 pre op weight: 204 goal 140 How are you feeling? It's taking a lot of patience with these slow slips of the Water but I know it gets better ... I just wanna be able to drink water normal lol I'm trying to remember meds Protein water Vitamins in this little stomach lol I got tons of pillow so rest is better. How's your journey so farYES! Tons of patience. I'm guessing we will get used to it. I have been taking the first half hour of the day to make sure I get all of my meds and supplements in.
Yesterday wasn't great and I didn't get much in, but I've been taking it much slower today and I seem to be doing a lot better.
Slow and steady! We will get there :-D

I usually deduct dietary Fiber from carbs to get the net carbs.
We are going to have a lot of issues getting enough dietary fiber with our sleeves, so I have no problem with healthy carbs :-)

I was sleeved the 2nd also. How are you holding up? My surgeon said everything went well' date=' I just feel hungry and don't like the Protein shakes as much anymore :-( hope your experience is way better then mine My stats: Age 26 Height 5'6 Pre-surgery weight 242 as well Goal 150/160ish[/quote']I'm doing much better today. Everything is still kind of running straight through me, but I am trying to get it all in and drink a little more slowly.
The Protein Shakes will grow on you. I'm working on some recipes to make them better. I added unsweetened almond coconut milk, Water, tiny bit of Splenda, and cocoa powder to a scoop of banana flavored Syntha-6. It's yummers, but I have to drink it soooo slowly.
Be patient and hang in there, it will get better! Our bodies just need time to adjust :-) and we will be healthier before we know it.
Shoot me a message anytime!

Ok guys, there are about a gazillion Protein bars on the market, and let's be realistic, the majority are just glorified candy bars.
So this begs the question, has anyone found some exceptional Protein Bars for a Meal Replacement on the go that they would like to share?
What is the best taste/protein content/lowest calorie/and most natural ingredients that you have tried?
Also, has anyone tried to make their own yet? I'm thinking about playing around with some recipes and seeing what I can come up with :-)

Oh wow! It's great to see other people that are doing this for the same reasons that I am.
I was diagnosed with spinal arthritis two years ago and the chronic pain has made it very difficult to live my life as I want to.
I know that being a hundred pounds over weight has certainly made a difference. I just had my surgery, so I can't give you any guarantees, but I sincerely feel that the reduced burden on my spine will make a huge difference in my chronic pain.
Best of luck!! Also, I had a personal trainer that gave me some excellent exercises to build up your supporting back muscles. Let me know if you would like some ideas.

I am such an over achiever
I swear I always feel like the rules don't apply to me hahahah. You know, because I'm "special"... Now I just need my cape and helmet.
Ok, ok, slow down. No gulping. Sip sip sip. I can do this. Even if I do have the patience of a gnat. Do gnats have patience?

I read that drinking warm Decaf tea. It seemed to help me.Thanks! A co-worker who had the surgery said the same thing. Looks like I'm making tea today :-)
I do have an unnatural obsession with tea... So this could be fun!

How are you feeling' date=' Anna? [/quote']Yesterday was rough nutrition wise. I couldn't keep anything in and I certainly did not get all of my Protein in. So new plan is to get all of my Water in and do my best with the protein as I am able.
I was nauseated yesterday. I'm a bit queasy this morning, but so far not too bad. Swelling seems to be a bit less.
I'm thinking I will start to feel more human in the next few days. How is everyone else holding up?

Is that a thicker Protein? You can mix it thin or thick. I've found that it just mixes so much more smoothly than some of the others.
I like to mix my powders with Unsweetened Coconut Almond milk and a bit of Water.
Check out Syntha-6 on Amazon too, all of the flavored are amazing and strawberry seems to be the favorite with the highest votes.

I got strawberry flavored Syntha-6 on Amazon. I tried a bunch of different Protein powders pre surgery and so far Syntha 6 is my favorite.
It's good mixed with Trop 50 orange juice too :-)

I want a cheeseburger, maybe some bacon, mmmm or NY style pizza.....
I wonder if they make bacon flavored Protein shakes. :-D
I guess it doesn't matter that I can barely take in four oz of liquid right now.
