  1. Yeah I'm going to get crap for this, but this is why I don't like this site. Judgmental and controlling people.

Listen, I'm about to lay some truth on you. You got fat for a reason. You had an unhealthy relationship to food. And guess what, it is EQUALLY unhealthy to be afraid of food.

An indulgence is just that, an indulgence. It is not an every day thing. It is allowing yourself the pleasure of ENJOYING your life!! If you don't, then why bother getting VSG in the first place? So that you can be thin and miserable. Ok, you go ahead, but I am going to be happy and eat some popcorn once in a blue moon... Omg and maybe some pizza *gasp*

I'm sure you will get over it, and if you don't, I won't think of you while I am thin, happy, and healthy and you are angrily scrolling through forums looking for someone to dump on.

There's your not so nice truth from an extremely nice person who has seen quite enough of this bullying. Have a blessed day!

  2. So... What you all are saying is that in two weeks I can have a slice of pizza and a bit of cheeseburger? Because that's what I'm hearing. :-)

And no, I won't be posting in here that I "cheated". I will be happy to be alive, on the path to a healthier me, and enjoying my indulgence on rare occasion. Because life isn't worth living if you don't LIVE.

What's fantastic about acknowledging that something is unhealthy is that you KNOW that it's unhealthy. Then you can make it a once in awhile treat instead of a daily or every other day habit. (And I'm not just saying this because I'm on a diet of baby food right now lol)

I really want to stress how important it is that we address our food issues in a healthy way instead of running screaming in terror from a French fry ;-)

Sorry... I just had to get that out. I can't sleep and I have been reading wayyy too many "omg I ate a chip and I'm never going to lose weight" posts.

    Love y'all!!!

  3. Excuse my stupidity but' date=' can you give a simple explanation of how to create a youtube vlog? I watched your's and it's great. How do you get text, music and other cool stuff on your vlog? Thanks.[/quote']

I spent a whole day trying to figure it out, but I think I got the basics.

I'm using just my webcam software to record the videos. Then I am using just the basic Windows Movie Maker to edit it. I really just played around with the software until I figured it out. Trial and error and a few YouTube how to videos to figure out how to add more than one music clip.

To create a YouTube account just go to the site and sign up. Click upload on your page and it will let you upload videos. Easy peasy ;-)

Let us know if you start one! We need as much support as we can get!

  4. Here's my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/Frankensleeve/videos I really enjoyed the videos both of you have put up. I wish I had started my videos from the start of my VSG journey' date=' but I really didn't want any pictures, much less video of my old fat self. Then after surgery, it took months before I had the energy levels to do much more than motivate myself to go back and forth to work. So I'm kinda late on the whole vlogging thing. :-) [/quote']

I know! It took me a minute to decide to show my "batwings" lol. But it was fun. And a great way to stay accountable. I am checking yours out now!

  5. Anna I would like to keep in contact with u. Our age wt and ht are very close. I get sleeved on the 22nd. 29 238 5'2.5"

That would be great! I'm also doing a YouTube vlog if you want to keep up with me there. Shoot me a message and we can keep in touch.

Oh and my you tube handle is Anna LV

  6. Yeah' date=' I'm excited about it too, but I also have read that it is high in saturated fats. How does one use it for scars and hair loss? Is it good for digestion? How?[/quote']

It is supposed to be good for digestion issues, but you do have to eat it for that benefit and it is really high in saturated fats, so I'm not sure I will use it for that purpose.

  7. It is a load on the kidneys though isn't it? Considering I already take alot of other Vitamins. Before the surgery they did find some Protein in my urine' date=' saying the kidneys were starting to get damaged (because of diabetes). mmmm...now I'm a lil worried I may be putting my kidneys through strain.[/quote']

Based on what you are saying I would definitely suggest asking your doctor.

This is what I found online:

Biotin is usually included in B-complex Vitamin supplements. It is generally a good idea to take Multivitamin supplements that contain all of the B-vitamins rather than single supplements because the B Vitamins work in concert with each other.

The exception to this might be people with diabetes, since preliminary evidence suggests that very large doses (7,000 to 15,000 micrograms) of Biotin may be helpful in regulating blood sugar.

Side effects from biotin supplements should not occur if the Vitamin is taken within recommended amounts. If side effects do occur, lowering the dosage of biotin is usually sufficient to eliminate these effects.

  8. In my research it seems to be typically month two to month six.

Here is what I have found to prevent:

    - Drink tons of Water

    - Get in all Protein every day

    - Use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners

    - Take Vitamins especially Biotin and Zinc

    - Rub Castor Oil and/or Coconut Oil on your scalp nightly

    - Consume healthy fats (avocados, olive oil, etc)

    - Rogaine

    - Wait it out, it can grow back

    Hope this helps!
