  1. In the past 5 weeks I have given pop, coffee, fast food, full sugar desserts, fried food and started exercising. It has been really hard! But the other posters are right it does get a little easier each day. I reduced things a little at a time and that seemed to work. It still sucks sometimes!
  2. Within the last month I have gone from a high sugar ( two liter per day of soda) diet to basically sugar free, only natural sugar like fruit. I did start eating a lot of sugar free items like fudge bars, pudding, crystal light. Could this be causing my stomach woes?
  3. No my insurance does not have any percentages. I just have to have a certain bmi to qualify I think. I will check into that. Serendipity, you really lost a lot before hand wow!
  4. I am just wondering if anyone lost weight before their first contact with the surgeon? I have been exercising a LOT more than ever and following the dietician plan really closely.
  5. I used to be a big coke drinker, almost a 2 liter per day. Now I am down to only one 20 bottle when I get a migraine. I am trying to ditch my 12 oz coffee that I have the three days week I work at 5 am and it is killing me. I teach internet classes and I am falling asleep during my classes. I also used to eat candy and other sweets(ice cream, cookies) very regularly, now none at all. I am in the process of getting all my clearances for surgery and I have lost 8 pounds in about 2 weeks. I am happy about that but I cannot sleep while at work. I just don't know hat to do!!
  6. Try greek yogurt or cottage cheese they both have tons of protein. Also how many times a day are you eating? My nutritionist said I should eat 5-6 times a day both now and post op.
  7. I am no expert but maybe you can tell us what else you are eating. 10 grams of protein is so very little. How much food altogether?
  8. I had stroke 12 years ago when I was 28. I have to have a ct angiogram, echocardiogram with bubbles and also visit the hematologist. What did you have to do?
  9. I have had three surgeries to remove ovarian cysts. The last time I had one on each side one was softball size and one was orange size. It was so painful. The surgery was so helpful for me. I had da vinci surgery. It is a good idea to do all at once then just one recovery! Take care.
  10. I hope you feel better soon. Please update when you can.
  11. The last time I had surgery (for something else of course). I had to drive myself to the hospital 2 hours away because my husband was sick. It sucked, I was alone until my mom was able to get there.
  12. LOL I lived your title. I just had to reply.
  13. I am going to the sparrow weight management center. I plan to have suergery with Dr. Lane still getting my clearances though.
  14. You did not get anything stronger than advil? That does not seem like nearly enough for surgical recovery.
  15. I hope everything goes well at your appointments. I am still in the process of getting all my clearances. I am already insurance approved. We seem to be on almost the same schedule!
  16. sorry posted on the wrong thread.
  17. Hi, I am Leslie Ann. I am considering the gastric sleeve. I am going through collecting my clearances now. I have had the exercise class , nutrition , blood work, physical, mammogram. Still have to do chest x-ray and get cleared by neurology, hematology and nutirtion. I am really struggling with being hungry and wanting my fast food and coke. I especially am having a hard time at night when I used to really eat a lot. It is good to know that I am not the only one going through all of this. I have a son who is 8 and husband with anorexia so family is good but complicated. Right now there is pound cake on the counter and I trying so hard not to go grab it. Time for some greek yogurt and fruit!
