i was back at work 8 days after surgery. i have a desk job.

i am just over 3 months out and get super tired after I eat (except Protein shakes), but it passes after 10 minute or so. I asked my nut last week about this and she said she had never heard this before.

only my experience...but i drank more in the specified time period as soon as i felt comfortable (no pain/tightening in my chest). i even found myself realizing i was taking gulps! i was nervous about that but at my week post-op appt with my surgeon, she said nothing to worry about. i was also sleeved in july...but the 1st. hope you are doing well.

i drove 5 days post-op and had to gingerly get in and out of the car....I went back to work today and drove, 7 days post op.

i was also sleeved July 1, weighed 297 before surgery, am 289 now...only 8 lbs thus far. i am still feeling like my chest/stomach is being squeezed when I drink anything (especially protein), am not close to meeting my required liquid intake. but i am no longer talking pain meds and incision pain nearly gone completely.

i was originally supposed to be sleeved in March....all set, ready to go with my date set and went in for final clearance from my primary doc...well i was "too anemic" in her opinion (even though my surgeon was ok with my levels). My primary did not clear me....put me on the pill and made me wait 3 months before i could even get re-tested. of course I gained weight from the pill and was miserable. It was really hard to power through....but I took the pill, two doses of Iron everyday and was re-tested the second week of June. thankfully she then cleared me, and I just was sleeved on July 1. I know it totally sucks being ready and then having to wait....All you can do is try to stay as positive as you can and hopefully you have a supportive, spouse, sibling, parent who can help keep you on track getting prepared.

I was sleeved on Monday (July 1st)' date=' and when I was finally allowed Water and Clear liquids, you'd think I was being offered prime seating at a royal banquet. I've since progressed to full liquids. The trouble is, when I swallow anything (except Jell-O, which seems to go down more easily), I can *feel* the sip traveling down my esophagus and landing in my sleeve. Like clockwork, every time, my sleeve goes into yoga/acrobatics. It seems to twist, bubble, gurgle LOUDLY, and it hurts!I've tried warm liquids, cold liquids, sipping teeny tiny amounts of liquid--it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Help me out, surgery veterans--should I be worried? Will this feeling of twisty gurgling subside, or is this my "new normal"? I discussed it with my surgeon, and he just wanted me to keep doin' what I'm doin'...but he didn't offer any guidance or advice beyond that. [/quote']
I am having the exact same symptoms....was also sleeved on July 1st! thanks to those who have responded...makes me feel better. i am really struggling though to force the liquids down.

Sorry some of you are having difficulty. i got home a few hours ago after getting sleeved yesterday. just used gasex strip for the first time and it's helping. my liquid hydrocodone just knocks me out too and helps me rest. i am having some "mind hunger" though...barely getting down my liquids.< /p>

i was sleeved yesterday. no drain no catheter for me! good luck. most pain was right after coming out of recovery and getting up to use the restroom (which i do once an hour from the iv fluids! i can't stop smiling even with the pain because i am so eager for the new me!

well...typing this from my hospital room! got my sleeve at 10:30am this morning! all went well...though apparrently my liver is not good, but the weight loss should help. pain has been manageable, the spot where my iv needle bothers me most. dying for Water but not until tomorrow! so happy to have made it to the other side!

just joined this website....getting sleeved tomorrow at 10:30am! i have not told anyone other than my sister and my husband....my husband is nervous in a very sweet supportive way. he wants to know what to expect for the first few days when i am home. he has to leave the 4th for work travel and is concerned about leaving me alone. i am nervous about reacting to the anesthesia and i have never had a catheter...but most worried about leak test! i have the worst gag reflex and worried i won't be able to drink the contrast and dye.
July sleevers please check in..
