Me!!! I'm 5 days out and I'm having this issue. It isn't constant but maybe 2-3 times a day; however, I'm still on Clear Liquids so that could be my issue.

I remember seeing that post. Let me know if you find out. I'm in the Charlotte area as well. I'm definitely interested.

I'm worried about being able to get my liquids and Protein in also. My job is only allowing me to be off the Wednesday of my surgery and expects me to be back on Monday. I've done it before' date=' but it was just a lap gallbladder...not something major like having the biggest part of my stomach cut out! They just don't understand!! I might just have to take the risk and call in sick for a few days to allow myself to get used to things![/quote']
What type of work do you do?

I was sleeved 9/3. Didn't get off to a great start in the hospital' date=' which I attribute to not getting pain meds on a regular basis. Was doing well enough to be discharged Thursday evening. At the time of discharge I was up to drinking 3.5oz per hour. My surgeon's plan had me gradually increasing to 8oz/hour by the end if that day. After getting home, everything slowly went down hill. I was stuck taking roxicet for pain instead of Lortab, because I had an allergy to liquid lortab. Roxicet seems very hard on my new tummy. That + nausea not controlled by the zofran led to less liquid intake and more misery. Throwing up recently postop does not feel good. I don't recommend it to anybody. Eventually got a new script for phenergran suppositories which yielded great sleep, but even less liquid intake. Ended up back in the hospital today. It's amazing how crappy dehydration can make you feel. After a couple of bags of fluids in the ER I was beginning to 2nd guess needing to be there. Luckily my wife doesn't have such a short term memory- and insisted that I be admitted. So, now I'm chilling out in the hospital for another day or 2. But, I'm hydrated and feeling much better. And, I get to focus on increasing my liquids by mouth, while getting all my drugs through an IV.[/quote']Sending prayers your way!

So I have 2 weeks of liquid diet and I am having a hard time. The smell of the shakes is a killer and the after taste is worse. I am having a banana creme muscle milk for lunch. The lady at Vitamin shoppe said it was her favorite. I guess I need suggestions of stuff with little to no after taste. Does that even exist? Or are there Protein pulls I could take instead? Thanks.I started yesterday and my shakes made me so sick. I had the Bariatric Advantage vanilla. I tried the Premier Protein this morning and it wasn't bad at all. We'll get through this!

Good morning everyone! I started my pre-op diet yesterday. I have a mental preparedness class tonight. Friday is my last appointment with the surgeon. Surgery on the 16th...this seems so surreal!

Hi guys...so today was my first day of pre-op. I haven't felt hungry but I think my shakes are making me sick. I had three shakes (Bariatric Advantage vanilla) and everything came back up tonight. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I try a different shake?
Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks for all the responses. I've heard that they give you a "full" or "satiated" feeling. True or false?
