  1. Water with mio saved the day for me.
  2. Thanks everyone! Definitely what it is, I was readmitted the day after I was discharged last week due to an abdominal hematoma. The amount of antibiotics the put in me was crazy! Antibiotics apparently can cause thrush and since I don't have lesions it will likely go away on its own. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Gotta love this forum!
  3. It's been said before but worth repeating: Never trust a fart!
  4. Please sleevers help me out on this one. My tongue is coated and white and no matter how much I brush and scrape my tongue it won't go away! Anyone else have this?
  5. Had to share this! Went to see my surgeon for follow up today and as he is examining my belly I hear and feel this rrrriiiiippppp! He pulled the steri-strips off!!!!! Shocked the heck out of me and it kinda smarted a bit, I had to laugh after though because of this thread. I did learn something valuable Once they come off get that sticky residue off of your skin ASAP. I left the docs office and went home. Shortly thereafter I went to adjust my running pants and......they were STUCK TO MY INCISIONS! Yowzah!
  6. Once it went over 101 I headed to ER. My hospital is about an hour away and when I got there it was 100.3, I had taken Tylenol.
  7. I use the Mrs. Grass noodle soup and toss the noodles. It's quick delicious.
  8. Don't want to scare you but I was sleeved on July 29 2013 and spiked a fever at 2 days post op. it reached 101.4 and I went to the ER. CT scan revealed I have a hematoma in my abdominal cavity with a healthy infection. Was in the hospital for three days and just had my follow up CT scan today. Meet with my surgeon tomorrow to determine how to remove the mass of blood that has accumulated. My post op instructions said if its over 101 head to ER, and I'm glad I did.
  9. Thanks all, I go in tomorrow for my follow up CT scan. Hopefully the blood from my hematoma can be drained and that will take care of the majority of the excess fluid!
  10. Thanks for the responses. This forum is a sanity saver!
  11. I gained 12 pounds from the time the weighed me in pre-op to when I was weighed a the next day post-op! I'm having some complications with an abdominal hematoma, but 12 pounds? I'm 6 days post op and not even back to my surgery date weight yet? I'm not discouraged or wondering if I'm going to fail. Just wondering if there Are others with similar experiences?
  12. I'm 6 days out and got 53 ounces in yesterday. I too was wondering if I pushed it too much for fear of dehydration.
  13. Mine are still on 5 days post-op and yes they look gross.
  14. So thankful to find this post! I was told that this had happened to me as well. The doc was so "matter of fact" about it I didn't know what to say!
  15. Home this afternoon, getting in fluids and waiting for the hematoma to make a decision on how it wants to get out! Ugh. Anyone else have a hematomashortly after surgery?
  16. Well I suppose it's time for an update. I ended up back in the hospital last night. I have a hematoma in my abdomen. Looks like I will be here overnight again.... Waiting for the clot to liquify!
  17. Sleeved July 29th by Dr. Rupp at united hospital. Was home by Tuesday evening and working on getting my liquids in! Anyone else with Rupp recently?
  18. Home sweet home! Feeling awesome compared to yesterday.
  19. Wishing you nothing but the best!
  20. Yesterday was a rough one. I wasn't able to walk because I would pass out! Lots of pain . Couldn't urinate so had to be catherized. But like many have said, each day gets a little better. I took my first uneventful walk this morning! Hope all us July 29th sleevers are doing well!
  21. I'm the early bird...7am check in for me!
  22. Here's to a speedy and comfortable recovery for us both Rox. Well, as comfortable as possible :-)
