  1. More Protein to less cals is better - just make sure you're not taking in more than 30 in one sitting. Your body can't process more than that at one time.

    The best I've found are:

EAS Carb Control (Sometimes I'll add a scoop of Click to it)

    Gold Standard whey

    unjury

    Isopure Zero Carb

My NUTs guidelines were similar to that second post as well. Seems like that's what everyone feels is "good".

  2. I tried to tell people I didn't have a food addiction and for me it was genetic and low metabilism and I was told that was not possible.. I hope you do not get treated like that too.

I'm sorry you get that! Not many people know about my surgery and I moved across the country 3 weeks after my surgery so my loss and all the questions and comments that go along with it have kind of gone unnoticed. It's hard to get comments like that from people who can't possibly know the answer. Keep your head up - we're on this journey for us!

  3. Being nervous is totally normal. And having a close friend whose had it done is WONDERFUL! I wish I had that kind of support from someone close. You have to realize that the fears are normal - I realized that having surgery at 20 was better than having heart surgery at 30 because I was over 360lbs. When I look back on my pre-surgery videos on YouTube, I laugh at the fears I had... because none of them were true in the slightest. Everything went well, I'm losing, happier than ever. So glad I made this decision. If you have any questions feel free to contact me - it's so nice to find some younger people and I'm glad to help out!

  4. Thinking that everything is a sign right before surgery is so totally natural. Been there - done that... and SO happy that I went through with it.

    1. How do you train your brain to stop shoveling it in after surgery?

I didn't struggle with this like a lot of people do, because I didn't have a food addiction. If you have a food addition, that is something to start working on pre-surgery because surgery will do nothing to change that. If you're an emotional eater, find how you're going to deal with emotions before surgery. I feel full on 2 oz of food and that is enough for me to stop shoveling it in. Feeling full on so little is such a blessing.

    2. I had a C-section and it wasn't that horrible, is the pain similar ?

There are a lot of differences when it comes to this. My gas pain was horrendous. I have a daunting account of it on my YouTube channel 3 days after surgery when I decided to talk about it. It was way worse than I thought it would be - but everyone is different - you may feel nothing!

    3. Can you describe to me what you consume in a day?

    Breakfast - shake

lunch - tuna salad (sometimes with Protein chips)

    dinner - chicken with cheese

"The WLS 4th meal" (as I call it) - ground turkey with cheese

    Snacks - turkey Jerky

liquid calories - half a bottle of Isopure, cup of milk

I eat 4 meals a day because I need to in order to get my Protein in and I also tend to get a headache if I don't eat something in a 4(ish) hour time span. A lot of us eat 4-5 meal per day. If you're interested in looking through daily meals, you can find me on MyFitnessPal. My food journal is public. http://www.myfitness...iary/mhomchenko

Make sure you are fully educated before you go for surgery - but that being said - doubts before surgery are so natural. When I look back at videos I made before surgery on my Vlog I wonder why I worried about those things. Now they seem so silly!

My surgery got put off 3 times - it felt like it was never going to happen - but I'm so glad that I kept pursuing it!

    Hope this helps!

  5. Unless you've already been told you're having one, there's a good chance you won't! I didn't have one and a lot of people don't however some surgeons prefer them or if you have more bleeding than expected during surgery they may add one. Just cross your fingers that you don't have to deal with one! I was so glad my surgeon went the less tubes the better route.

  6. It varies - but for us who need to lose more than 200 pounds, it's basically a guarantee that we will have some level of lose skin. It physically can't bounce back THAT much. But loose skin is healthier than being obese. We have to remember that we are here for our health, not to be on the cover of Vogue.

  7. You really need to consider why you had this surgery. If it was for your health, exercise for life is a part of that. That doesn't have to mean running marathons. Find something you enjoy and do the 210 minutes a week that is the guideline for WLS patients. I had surgery to improve my health and quality of life. That means a minimum of 210 minutes of exercise per week along with a healthy diet.
