Last night I wanted to curl up in a ball.. One of my best friends who knows about the surgery and all the struggles I have had with weight.. Anyway I was in the break room at work eating a small pile of Doritos (which I allotted for in my calorie intake) and he says to me.. What are you eating those for? Like your not allowed to eat those.. I guess I have to get used to people's criticism and thinking they know best for me..

Yes.. I don't get it.. it kinda made me mad when he said it.. It's like I didn't just settle for you because I am a big girl.. I'm not going to loose a bunch of weight and then try and see what else is out there.. I chose to be with you... ugh.. anyway best of luck to you!

I got to thinking about this tonight.. after the surgery since our bodies don't get all of the vitamins that they did before will our immune systems be weaker? Do I have to look forward to lots of sickness this winter? Currently I don't get the flu shot.. but if my immune system is going to be weaker I may have to think about getting it this year..

Congrats.. mine was like yours.. I had to take three tests.. one that was 385 questions and then one on the computer that was 100 questions then the third one was only 85 questions... ugh I hate testing.. the only test I have passed with flying colors is a pregnancy test..

I think some of it depends in the practice that you are going to.. And some of it is insurance.. It's truly a toss up. In my own little way I think they make those of us with a lower BMI have a longer process to make sure this is something we truly want/need.. If we can and do deal with the wait before hand we will be willing to make the changes afterwards.

Yours kind of sounds like mine.. I have been seeing the nut, the coordinator, my family doctor, and several other doctors for the last seven almost eight months.. And still don't have a surgery date. I just got my date to meet the surgeon for the first time two weeks ago. I meet him on the first.. Still have to wait to have him schedule me EDG..then wait for those results and then hopefully get my surgery scheduled.. Hang in there.. It will only drive your little (insert sarcasm) crazy!

Welcome.. I have UHC as well.. I am still preop.. Just waiting on my actual surgery date to be scheduled... It's been a long time coming.. I hope all goes well for you and the whole process is smooth..

I haven't had surgery yet.. But some co workers of mine have. We all work in a lab where no food is allowed.. The others tend to keep a protein shake and the little bottles of water too. And for the one drink we are allowed to have and sip on all night is a mixture of isopure and crystal light. That way you are getting your protein in and saving your one meal for food.. Just a thought
