  1. It's very common for someone to regain after a weight loss procedure. She said it was much harder to keep down and digest healthy foods like Proteins and vegetables. I have read that a lot. People eat what doesn't make them throw up. Regardless, I thought this forum was about supporting each other. It's easy for people to think they know everything when they haven't even had surgery yet. Good luck to you

  2. Thank you everyone for replying. I was actually just wondering if the sleeve would be an option for my sister. She had a procedure back in 96, and has since gained all of her weight back. She hasn't even mentioned thinking about having a 2nd surgery, I just was wondering if it were possible.

  3. Something else popped into my head this morning since I'm a work. The only stories on here I read are stories like' date=' "I have a desk job so went back after a week!" I don't have a desk job. I have a very physical job. In fact I'm not allowed to sit except on lunches and breaks. I constantly have to bend over and pick up boxes. Lift 50 lbs if need be. Anyone have a job like that on here? How soon were you back to work?[/quote']

I have a very physical job too, I went back after a month. I have been back for a week and a half and I'm still so exhausted

  4. Congratulations on the awesome weight loss. I had my surgery on the 11th of July and have only lost 25 pounds' date=' I have hit a plateau and have not lost any for a little bit. The PA told me that you need to eat every 3 hours no matter what but as a farmer it is hard to eat like that, I eat when I can but I can eat anything I want. I was eating solid food by the second week. Sorry to ramble on but keep up the great work.[/quote']

I had surgery the same day as you, and I still haven't lost 20 lbs. I'm at 19.4 but it has gotten so slow. I am also a farmer, well, a farmers wife.

  5. My surgery date is August 5th and my husband has his first consult today. We want to do it as close together as possible. It will be great for support. Your thoughts? BTW' date=' I had my consult and approval all in less than 2 weeks![/quote']

That is amazing! Some people have been jumping through hoops for a year or more. I had surgery July 11. My husband needs surgery worse than I did. He is discussing it with his dr but he doesn't like the idea of quitting drinking. He has diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea. I wish he would get more serious about it. He talks about it but doesn't seem like his heart is really in it. I could use the support too, as opposed to him eating everything under the sun and pushing food at me. Good luck to you, hope your husband follows close behind you.

  6. I was sleeved on 7/11 and since the 5th day post-op I havent had a problem getting my shakes down. Also' date=' just started yesterday on my soft/pureed foods and seem to be able to eat more than I thought. I made eggs last night and ate about 1/2 cup. Today I had cottage cheese and was almost able to finish one of those small single servings. I don't get sick, I just feel full and stop. I am worried that it's too much???? I thought it would be harder than this. Should I be concerned???[/quote']

I had surgery the same day. I really thought it would be harder too. I'm not having any problems eating or drinking.

  7. July 3 here. Down 23 lbs and super excited by that! Hard to get in my liquid and Protein also! The Water is a little easier now but still have a tough time some days. Today is the first day I made it to 56grams of Protein and I'll have a yogurt before bed putting me at my 60gram goal. Hate the Protein shakes so much! Only can tolerate Syntrax nectar fuzzy naval with orange juice. Everything else I have tried sux! Even the ones I liked preop I can't stand! I also hate every Calcium citrate I've tried so far! Yuck!!!!!

I so agree about the Calcium. I ordered a chewable from Celebrate, and I couldn't get it down. I went back and ordered a couple different flavors of a chewy calcium and I'm hoping for the best. Maybe I will get lucky and it will taste like a tootsie roll, what are the chances

  8. I don't know if my pics are inspirational but I'll add them-

5 months sleeved today! Down 80- still feel like its not quite good enough as I can't really see the diff- I hold on to the fact that I'm smaller now so I should be able to see the next 80 or even 40.... I hope - I was a tight-not fitting- 26 now I'm at a 22

Sent from my iPhone using VST

80 lbs in 5 months is amazing! Are you kidding! You look so good, and yes, inspirational

  11. I'm near St. Louis in Illinois. My surgery is not scheduled but should be mid to end of May. My surgeon is Dr. Kumaran through New Start. I'm so excited and nervous!

You are the first person I have seen who has the same surgeon as me. I just found out Friday I was approved, so I am assuming you are way ahead of me. When was your surgery? How are you doing? Any complications? Love to hear how things are going!
