  2. I live in Tennessee. I contacted one place, but they want twice as much as the place I am going to do the fills. I am currently paying $250 and they charge $500 for the first and $400 thereafter.

that is a lot - I pay $300.00 and I thought that was a lot. Go to Obesityhelp.com, I think that is alink there for fill doctors.:ranger:

  3. Can I go to a doctor other than the one that did the surgery for my fills? What is the process/what information will they want?

Yes there are doctors who will fills on Mexico patients - you just have to contact them and ask and ask how much. Where do you live?

    :clap2:

Well, its been 2 years since my last fill - My last one was a 2.3 cc's I was getting concerned because I felt I didn't have the restriction I had before and I was worried thaT i HAD A leak. I went to see my doc and he said I still had 2.3cc's in my band:confused:. then why don't I have the same restriction I had before? My weight had said the same so why would my stomach strench? Well I had him put 2.8 in Let see if that works.:hungry:

  5. Its been over a year since I had a fill....I finally made an appointment for sept 10th. I hope my Doc. dosn't get upset with me if I gained anything, I have been really good with exercise and trying to eat right.

What is the longest anyone has gone without?

  6. I have been banded for 2 year and I need to have my gallbladder out. I have been have back pain and shoulder pain for 7 months and have been told it was just stress. When I talk to the surgon she said I didn't need it out and lets justwait and see what happens. My band doctor was upset because he said that I can lose my band if I get infected. I would prefer not to have it out but worry about losing my band. Should I just let it go and wait?

Another thing does the gallbladd have anything to do with weight loss?

  8. [What is you are compliant and still can't lose weight? :) What then?:)

Keep your chin up! I have been feeling the way you have for a few months now. I am not being as compliant as I should be and I still have weight to lose. Sometimes the journey takes so long that you want to give up. But you shouldnt because you can do this. Take it day by day and you will get there.

One of the biggest obstacles to overcome, for those who want to lose

weight and get healthy, is coming to terms with the time it takes to

accomplish this formidable task. In a nutshell, the more weight you

have to lose, the longer it will take.

I was getting ready to respond to an eDieter who was struggling with

this, "It's going to take forever" thinking, when I ran across a

short parable that brought it all home for me. Before I continue,

let me share this short story with you.

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter went to work for a timber

merchant. The pay was good and so were the work conditions. For that

reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. On the first

day, his boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was

    supposed to work.

The first day, the woodcutter cut down 18 trees. "Congratulations,"

the boss said. "Keep it up!" Very motivated by the boss' words, the

woodcutter tried even harder the next day but found he was only able

to cut down 15 trees on day two. The next day he tried even harder

but, at the end of day three, he had only cut down 10 trees. Day

after day he found himself cutting down fewer and fewer trees. "I

must be losing my strength," the woodcutter thought.

He went to the boss and apologized, saying he could not understand

what the problem was. "When was the last time you sharpened your

axe?" the boss asked. "Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I

have been too busy cutting trees..."

This little parable captures beautifully a major mistake made by

those wanting to lose weight, reclaim their bodies and live a

healthier life. Some people get so mentally and emotionally involved

in the big picture that they lose track of the only thing they can

really control -- which is the present moment.

My caution to you is this: Don't get so caught up in thinking

    about

all the weight you want to lose in the future that you lose track of

what you must do today. Focusing on the NOW and the choices at hand

is how you keep your axe sharp and chip away at that forest.

The eDieter I mentioned above made the mistake of focusing on the

forest and losing track of the trees. She couldn't shake the

debilitating and frustrating thought, "It's going to take

    forever"

and that is exactly what happens when you focus on the forest and

    not on the trees.

In my opinion, those that find success with weight loss are those

that take it one day at a time. The big picture, particularly for

those with a lot of weight to lose, is just too overwhelming for

most people. The best way to address this forest (total amount of

weight you want to lose) is one tree at a time (one day at a time).

To accomplish this goal, you must stay vigilant and be mindful about

each healthy choice you make. Each day provides you with numerous

opportunities to "sharpen your axe." Each healthy choice you make

sharpens your axe, and you simply can't get where you want to go

without sharpening your axe every day. You must attend to the issues

of today before you can realistically entertain thoughts of tomorrow.

So I suggest you look forward to each day's choices. Because each

healthy decision you make provides you with an opportunity to

sharpen your axe, take down another tree in that forest and close

the gap between who you are and who you want to be.

  10. This morning I weighed myself and it seems I haven't lost anything in the last few weeks. I had a fill 2 weeks ago and I do feel a lot of restriction. I tract my calories and average about 600 cal a day and exercise 4 times a week for about 1 hour. What am I doing wrong? Did I have the wrong procedure? I feel like a failure all over again! Will it ever stop? Will I ever succeed.

  11. Hello,

When I got the band I didn't think about the long term process.. Once I loose the weight will it stay off? I'm not going to go thru the yo yo again, am I? Somestimes I wonder if i should have had another procedure. And what if the weight doesn't come off? What if I only loose 20# and then nothing. Any long timers out there to another these questions and after a year or two does the band still work for you.

  12. I Was Banded On Nov 24th 2004 As Of Today I'm At 1.5 Cc And I've Lost 23 Lbs. Is That Good? I Have Been Exercising At The Gym With Weights And Doing Cardio And My Workouts Are About 1 To 2 Hours Long. One Of The Days I Work Out With A Trainer And Boy She Will Works Me. To Tell You The Truth I Was A Little Disappointed With The Lost But When I Think Of All The Failed Diets I Have Been On ...23 Lbs Is A Lot.

  13. Hello:

Well, its been since Nov since my surgery. I'm doing ok but now since I a few months out I'm starting to get concerned. I been working out 4 times a week and in the last 3 week have been working with a trainer. I have been doing at least 45 minutes of cardio and 1/2 hour of weight training. I'm not really seeing a difference. I went and bought a new top but I'm still wareing a 2x thats what I started with before surgery. My pants size did go down but only 2 sizes from a 22 to size 18. I'm worried when I go back to the doctor that he will think I'm not working hard enough and eating to much. But, beleive me I am working so hard and my calories are way down. Will I start seeing a difference soon? Any advice. Thanks

  14. My stomach as always been big and now with the weight loss It is really flabby.

I'm thinking about a TT in about a years time. (when I lose all my weight).

    thanks for your time

  15. Thanks for the reply. The tax man thought maybe the IRS will not except our claim. I found out the insurance for sure is not going to pay.

I didn't go thru the insurance because of all the requirements, such as diets ect.

sorry but I've been there done that. So I went on my own and found a doc and self paid. AM I crazy? Should I have gone thru the insurance?
