Well you look awesome. I guess a flat one is better than one that completely weighs you down. My last weigh in for insurance purposes in monday and I hope to be on my liquid diet this month..i'm ready

I haven't had my surgery yet, but definitely get plenty of fluids. Exercise is key, I guess I could start hydrating better before surgery with lotion that has collagen in it. I havent had any kids or anything. If I have a flap it really wouldnt bother me just as long as i am healthy...wrinkles would be better though ;p

Thats nice to know about bcbs fed, thats what I have! Im submitting next week hopefully! Cant wait!

I did a trial run today for my 2 week liquid diet...it really was not bad at all. I know I can do it, but I feel like im psyching myself out. I dont have a surgery date yet but am submitting to insurance next week...i literally can only have carnation breakfast essentials sugar free, sugar free jello, water, crytal light and no chicken broth til the day before...it might not be too bad if I could have chicken broth the.whole time...anyone else psych themselves out.before their 2 week liquid diet?

Funny thing is this is one of the main things I look forward to after surgery! So many cute shoes my fat feet cannot fit!

And all I can think about are chicken strips! Does this ever go away?! I'm estimated to have surgery in Oct, but i'm trying to be good now! I know I can do it, but oh the cravings!

Oh i definitely had the chicken! I'm going to have to experiment with the greek yogurt and dressings! My NUT said she uses the plain greek yogurt mixed with a vinigraitte I think rasberry! I've been getting full alot faster taking her advice to chew my food really good! So i'm not eating as much which is a plus!

So I seen my dietician for the first time yesterday..i'm starting my adventure for new health so I decided why not start before I actually have the surgery. She says to chew everything to applesauce consistency! Boy oh boy are my jaws hurting! Good thing it's actually making me eat less though and allowing my stomach to catch up with my brain! The no drinking thing is really hard though! My surgery date probably won't be until October, so hopefully I'll have the hang of things by then!!

Glad to hear someone with arrythmias was cleared! I'm going through that process now, nothing life threatening at all just a few missed beated every now and then. It used to be alot until I had an ablation done.

Anyone have BCBS FEP? I was wondering how much altogether you had to spend. I'm pretty confused because I had my labs and the insurance paperwork said I didn't have to pay the difference because it was an in network provider and i had met my deductible. yet the lab sent me a bill... Guess i'll be calling insurance tomorrow just to make sure. ! I asked the financial counselor, but everything I ask she says she doesnt deal with! lol i'm almost ready to ask what do you deal with?? The only thing i've been told is I have to pay $250 before surgery...

How have some of you mentally and physically prepared for surgery? I've lost around 20 lbs and this is before surgery but alot of it has to do with my metformin making me have alot of GI problems. I just would like to know what others have done to get themselves ready. My estimated date isnt until Oct but I would like to get started now.

Good luck everyone! Goirish is there a certain type of protein drink that your going to drink? I want to start trying some now so I will know what I will like and of course get used to drinking them. I also want to get a trainer but probably wont til after surgery. My husband actually went to school to be a trainer so he knows what to do, just not so sure i'd listen to him lol!

Same here! Mr. quarterback blah blah! I would always hear the why her behind my back. My weight has nothing to do with my heart! My husband was a little insecure about me wanting to have this done, but I reassured him that he is the man who loved me when i've been big this whole time..why would I settle for someone who didnt want me when I was big just when I could possibly be skinny. Your husband should love you no matter what, and it's him who is afraid he is going to lose me. But I reassure him that he is not. I couldn't imagine him not being supportive and saying things like that to me, I hope you get the help you need!

I had my first initial consult for my vsg. Now I just have to do all the testing and 3 month diet for insurance! I would love some insight and to know how fast or slow it was from your first visit to surgery. At this point I wish I could fast forward time. Im ready to be off the metformin and hoping this will help my infertilty. Anyone struggling with infertility have success after vsg getting pregnant?

I'm hopeful that the surgery will help increase my fertility also. I finally received my appointments to get everything done yesterday. So i'm scheduled for all of that on July 17th. My estimated surgery month is Oct! They haven't said that I needed a sleep study yet, but I have a cardiac arrythmia which is totally harmless so far but i'm sure they will want me to get one after I see the cardiologist. I just can't believe this is something that will be happening for me. *fingers crossed* anyway I dont wanna get my hopes up for something and then be let down. But I know i'm well on my way. I'm glad this is a place where we all can get advice! Because if I say anything to anyone they just kind of look at me like i'm stupid.....but I k now this is the best thing for me and my life and I really don't care what other people think.

Thanks everyone for your replies! As of right now i'm only having the hormonal issues with my infertility everything else looks good. Today I was scheduled for all of my dietician, exercise and cardiology appts. Fingers crossed for a Sept surgery date. And metformin does suck! But my nausea has sudsided. Im hoping I wont have to be on it for long!

The only thing metformin has helped me with so far...and i've only been on it a week is my appetite. Prayers for your surgery date! I am still waiting on the scheduler to call about all my cardiology, dietician appts etc...! I'll be super happy when that call comes in! Good luck!
