  3. I am on Prilosec 2x aday...I also take 2 tbs maalox at night....prior to the surgery' date=' I was on Prilosec 1xday...but I think my surgeon puts everyone on Prilosec after surgery...tums are good to for calcium...my energy I down but I know that once I start drinking more if my Protein drinks and start purées it will be much better.

    Hang in there....[/quote']

Thank u am trying hang in trust me I have to lil girls and a hubby to be here for its so hard u know

  4. I have started chewing on some tums like 4 times a day and then today I'm gonna start Pepcid ac my doc says sometimes people after the sleeve have bad reflux ... Hoping this helps it still hurts in my stomach once the fluids hit it ' date=' its like a horrible sharp burning pain ? think yesterday I got to 30 oz of Fluid , still way short of the 64 oz goal ......[/quote']

Ya true I wonder if it is reflux or is there something else wrong I feel fine its just my stomach hurts my mouth taste gross and I have zero energy

  5. I am with you...I was sleeved on 8/7/13...have had really hard time drinking plain Water...everyday gets better. Today it seems to be much better going down.

When I swallow....my stomach gurgles and it feels like it sits there...some of the things I have found helpful are...having room temp Water as opposed to ice cold' date=' standing up walking around when drinking the water.....putting in a big cup and sipping all day so i can see the progress that I have made, also adding a splash of cranberry or apple juice to plain water. Tea is helpful as well. My Protein shakes are another story...takes me all day to drink one....these are counted towards my daily goal of 64oz daily...I am not close to there yet.

  9. The slippery slope

That is where I am right now 1.5 years out from surgery' date=' down 90 pounds - well sometimes 90 sometimes 85. The miracle of the sleeve has done what it was supposed to do - it helped me to cut down on food intake, I choose food differently and never looked back.

Well now the newness has worn off - I eat a little of this and a little of that - test the waters on what I can and can't stand. For the most part I can eat everything I want; except for meat, salad and sausage. Do not eat anywhere near the amount of food I did two years ago, nor do I eat the amount I ate a year ago - which was very little.

I cheat - I don't want to but I have become bored with food again, my life is hectic so it is easier to eat out, I still never finish a full meal, always have a "to go" bag, but now it is a little eating more, a few fries off someone else plate, a lick of real ice cream.

....and drinking well at first I became one drink wonder, now I can pretty much keep up with the pack on a couple of vodkas without a problem, even tried a coors lite beer (which was not good). Drinking leads to eating and well we all know the drill.

I gained four pounds over the weekend of Memorial Day, I am not happy about it - this week I have tried to cut back the amounts of food again - push myself away from the table again. I must learn to love my sleeve enough not to stretch it, I must love myself enough not to travel down the slope.

I lived that life a while ago and didn't like it one bit - so I will try to go up the slope to the top where I feel my best.

Thanks for hearing me out old friends......[/quote']
