  1. Well at least you got on the list and maybe others will drop off the list or won't be ready when its their turn. Hang in there and don't lose hope!
  2. I wish my Mom would have done that for me at 14. Go for it!
  3. Some very good info on healthy eating can be found at the local health food store like whole foods.
  4. Good information. It also depends on your actual policy as they all differ. I work as a case manager for Kaiser and there are thousands of plans and all very different in coverage and exclusions. For specific info for your particular kaiser policy it is best each person call and check their own benefit plan through member services.
  5. Coffee was the worst thing I could have done to myself. Really irritated me for some reason. This morning I tried out a new protein powder I got at kaiser pharmacy for 8 dollars and was able to get in 44 grams of protein! It has almost no flavor, 4 gm sugar and 22 gm protein for a tiny scoop. Doubled it and added fresh berries. 4 ounces went down fine. Natures blend. No fake sweet taste. Thank God.
  6. High dose aspirin therapy and or plavix also are alternatives to patients who cannot safely maintain their INR (coumadin) levels.
  7. Can't wait to try it out tonight!
  8. We don't all feel that way. I would never do that to a patient. Like I said tyere are some nasty nurses out there and because nobody reports them we never can get rid of them. So every time report them.
  9. I have kaiser and my lapband was from another medical group 2 years ago. They not only paid to take out the slipped band but also the revision to the sleeve. Please call the number on the back of your card and ask for the benefits dept to ask about your policy.
  10. Yes I have severe reflux and foaming. Noticed it more past few days and even vomitted. 4 weeks post op. Just switched from pepcid to prilosec . I also have reglan which I can take as well. Can you ask for reglan?
  11. You know I heart you Pixie Dust!
  12. Absolutely! No worries. I just feel so passionate about getting this band off the market. We need a voice and maybe he could be it. So many suffer because of the band. He seems passionate and compassionate and would be wonderful in this role. But I am not praying for his failure either.
  13. Thanks. Trying. Appreciate all the support.
  14. No doubt. What a hag. I would have said I may be fat but you are a shitty nurse.
  15. Yes very emotional. My hormones are crazy!
  16. Thank you so much for your reply. My hubby is also a RN in the ICU so I'm covered. Just trying to get the fluid in. Its so hard being a patient myself.
  17. I hope soon. Its a horrible device.
  18. Don't let some scrawny a$$ mediocre nurse ruin your day. Obviously she is in the wrong line of work. She would be PERFECT athe local DMV.
  19. I vote for the nutritionist but also maybe a barium swallow test with the surgeon to make sure its all going down ok. I'd also like to give you a big hug too! Private message me anytime....
  20. I am so glad my band is out, it caused so much internal damage. Now I am sleeved for 4 weeks much better than the band. If he wants to read alittle about the reality of the band he can come here and read this forum or go to lapbandtalk.com and see all the unhappy people who want their bands out.
