  1. Thank God for Chris Christy and his new lapband. Finally we will have a celebrity spokesperson in a few years to speak out against the lapband and perhaps start the class action lawsuit once his band acts up. And you know its inevitable it will do something- slip, erode, not work, etc. Lets see how this all unfolds.....
  2. well it turns out I now have a kidney infection. likely due to the fact I have not been able to get enough fluids in making my bladder sticky. awesome. now I can't eat anything because my stomach is queasy. another 2 weeks off from work. just trying to stay focused. its hard because I read so many stories on here about people who are 4 weeks post op like me or even less and they can eat and drink super easy. I take a sip of Water and its like, uggh. Maybe it will be better once I clear this infection. And the surgeon switched my pepcid to prilosec and a bigger dose too twice daily. God I hope this all works. The longer I take to recover the more my mom and certain family members say you shouldn't have done that surgery. Frankly, I am sick of hearing it.
  3. That's what I'm talking about!!!!! Love IT!
  4. I say do whatever feels right at the moment for you. Many times I think I know how I will respond in a certain situation and when it really does happen, I do the opposite because that is what feels right. Hang in there and just know you have alot of friends here supporting you all the way!
  5. Are you 15 days post op? I'm 4 weeks out and still on pureeds.
  6. Think you need to get a hot guy trainer and see what your hubby says.
  7. Hormone hairs I call them.
  8. Nordstroms has really good bras and someone who can measure and fit you properly. Maybe alittle underneath padding to push them up.
  9. My ex husband is both bipolar and schziophrenic though not offically diagnosed until after our divorce. Nothing ever got better. I was medicated he was medicated I went to counseling he went to counseling we both went to counseling we moved couple of times trial separations. I even hauled his butt on the doctor phil show. We were the main guests on one of his earliest shows in 2002. Divorcing him was hard. He continues to be crazy and abusive verbally so I have a permanent restraining order. But I got remarried last august to a fabulous man and my life is a million times better. Move on sister. Time for a healthy life!
  10. My hubby has wanted this forever but I always said its too pricey. Its truly amazing and so necessary right now.
  11. I work for kaiser and have kaiser insurance. Three ladies in my dept were all denied 3 times before they were approved. Keep filing appeals and call the number on your card. Ask for the bariatric case management dept so they can help you get approved.
  12. I get stuck working with these nasty people and the bosses can't get rid of them because nobody ever reports them officially.
  13. I love that! A pair of capris I have never been able to wear I put on yesterday. While I was walkin g around they literally slid down way down. Oops! Time for new clothes.
  14. Think I will try it out. Not much luck with whey shakes.
  15. Please do report her file a grievance. I wish more patients would do that and we could finally get rid of these crappy nurses.
  16. Me too! Hated my band. I am convinced that thing would've eventually killed me.
  17. I got lucky. Had gift certifcates from our wedding at sur la table and got a 10% registry discount. Ended up paying $175. I am so impressed with its performance. Endless recipes.....I already love it too!
  18. And who wants another " temporary" weight loss tactic? I want a permanent solution. And no thank you, I don't care to be fat again. Been there done that.
  19. The lapband is not temporary. It causes a lot of damage to your stomach. Mine was just taken out and revised to a sleeve. As a nurse I can tell you that not all doctors are created equal. Do not feel bad about switching to another doctor you can have a good repoire with. Some just are so arrogant and narcissistic that they get all uppity when a patient has a different opinion. Lapband is one of the worst things in my opinion and I hope they remove it off the market. With such a high failure rate and high rate of complications I am surprised it hasn't already happened. You hang in there and don't be intimidated. He isn't God just a human being with some alphabet soup after his name.
  20. Past 3 days I have been battling nausea and even vomitted twice. Almost 4 weeks post op so I had thought I was getting better. Then I got to pureed diet. Really hard time coming up with meal ideas. Guess my new blender really didn't puree enough and the bits were irritating my baby tummy. So today I bought a Vitamix. Best thing I have ever spent money on. It purees anything even an avocado seed. You can make low carb peanut butter with just unsalted peanuts. Its amazing and now the food is going down so much better. Worth every penny. Comes with a very nice cookbook.
  21. Instead of whey they use egg white protein powder.
  22. I had mine at kaiser harbor city almost 4 weeks ago. Liquid diet 2 days before surgery. I had my slipped band removed same time as the sleeve. I also work for kaiser as a case manager RN. My doctor was Dr. Zane who is really good.
