  1. So just like our foot size varies from others' date=' our stomach sizes vary. My husbands stomach is bigger than mine. When they take out 85% of a big stomach, what's left is bigger than 85% of a small stomach, right?

Sleeved on the same day as me, he can reliably hold 4 oz of solid Protein at a time, I can reliably hold 2 oz of solid Protein at a time. We are only 5 weeks out, but it's very predictable.

I suggest for those of who who wonder about their stomach capacity, don't worry about yogurt, Soup, liquid, saltines, bread, etc. Test it by eating dense protein and you will know for sure.[/quote']

    Awesome advice!

  2. Good Morning!

Today marks my two week anniversary and during my 2nd week I also hit a stall for about 5 days....didn't budge' date=' didn't move and I was becoming highly discouraged. I read a lot about stalls on here and found that stalls at week 2 or 3 are very common and just your body's way of adjusting.

I was freaking out and feeling like "great, I have the surgery, I'm doing what I am supposed to and I still can't lose weight". It's a bad cycle to get into and one that is made even more awful because of my obsessive need to weigh every day. I have determined that I will weigh once a week and just do what I am supposed to do as far as food and exercise go.

The good news is that this morning I weighed and I am down 1.5 pounds so the stall appears to have lifted for now. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Have an awesome day![/quote']

You have made my day! Only weighing on once a week from now on. Congrats on your weight loss.

  3. When is the typical stall period? I know its early and I am only 2 weeks Post op. I was 227 pre- liquid diet and 212 day of surgery and today I am 202. I have stayed on 202 for about 4 days now. I have read countless blogs and forums regarding stalls and trust me I don't want to panic now. When are the stalls typical? Another thing I haven't really felt full yet. I am eating softs now. I am just praying my dr. took enough out. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

  4. Hello all...I am scheduled for a gastric sleeve revision to gastric bypass tomorrow because of extreme gerd/reflux and every other option has not worked. I was sleeved originally December 13' date=' 2012, have lost 58.6 pounds and have had several complications/procedures done since then.

I'm looking for someone else who's had a revision to a bypass and not by choice but by lack of other options.[/quote']

I have a question. So if you are having problems with GERD and reflux, your stomach opening is not reversible. You are still going to have that issue I'm guessing. How is the RNY going to help with that?

  5. Hello Sisters

I gave tried that Protein shot fruit punch~ omg it was horrible. I felt sick the rest on the morning. I only drank half of it. I prefer Chike! it comes in various flavors~ Very Vanilla' date=' strawberry Burst and banana Magic each contain 28 grams of Protein. I mix it with 8oz. of skim milk shake it up, sometimes I place it in the freezer to make it colder. It's almost like a thin malt.[/quote']

OMG!!! I tried that protein shot too and I wanted to throw up!! I only drank a cap full. Disgusting!

  6. I'm 10 days post op and I'm eating mushies. My stomach is rumbling and grumbling everything I swallow or i guess the food goes down almost like my tummy is growling. Does this ever stop? Has anyone else had this happen? When will that tightness in between my breast stop as I'm eating? My dr says that's the top of my new narrow stomach. Thanks in advance all.

    Signed Nervous Nelly

  7. I'm from Four Oaks NC (30 minutes south from Raleigh). I plan to do my surgery with Duke and got to my seminar on Auguest 22. I'm just starting on my journey' date=' hopefully it won't take forever to get to the surgery![/quote']

It will be well worth the wait Kasey! Congrats on making the first step.

  8. First baby speed bump in our post op journey. Steve is in ER now with dehydration and low bp. 76/43. Eek. ( He kept feeling like He was going to pass out). They are giving him IV fluids' date=' of course stopping his bp med and checking his blood values. He's already starting to feel a little better with 1/2 bag of the IV fluids and bp is now 104/63 so moving in the right direction. On a positive note - he no longer has high blood pressure! Prayers appreciated everyone. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I'm so happy he's doing better! I pray for a rapid recovery and much success to you both.

  9. Wow I am so happy you are feeling better. For those that are afraid, don't be. Her situation was one out of 10k. Most people have a smooth process. I was sleeved August 7th and I had zero complications. I was home walking my dog the next day. Sounds like she had a responsible and awesome surgeon!! Good luck with everything I'm sure you will have an amazing journey from here on out.
