  1. Had my sleeve done in Nov at the Obesity Control Center in Tijuana. It was an awesome experience and I am currently down 101lbs. I am getting close to my goal and am looking into plastics for my tummy, thighs and breast. OCC is connected to the Ariel Center and I am wondering if anyone has gone there and what their experience and results were like?

  2. Doing it now aswell, juT finished week 1 and it helped brake my stall and lose 3# :) but had emergency gallbladder surgery yesterday so won't be doing it again for a week or so :(

  3. Thanks mouse, but I mean before hand. We thought there was 2 days before hand it was Clear Liquids, but then we are told no. So I am just wondering.</blockquote>Derby it also depends on your BMI. I had a longer preop diet that then went into the 15 day shakes and leafy greens. When you contact the nutritionist, she will tell you what you need to do for your BMI.

She told us to continue doing what we are doing. We just find it odd and were wondering if maybe something was lost in translation. I am just worried the stomachs won't be empty. Surgery is Monday, can I eat today and tmrw?

  4. Enviro girl and I are on our way to Edmonton for a weekend of roller derby and then fly out with our other friend Sunday for our surgeries on Monday the 25th. How is that for the ultimate girls trip, hahaha. I can't believe it's here, it has been abit of a ride and a little stressful, but I am down .2 shy of 16lbs EG is down 30 and we are pumped!! See you all on the other side!!

  5. Hi everyone - I have made the decision to have Gastric Sleeve surgery on November 25th in Mexico with Dr Ortiz and A Lighter Me - I have been thinking about having something done for almost a year now and I just finally decided to go forward. I'm nervous and excited - going from Canada to Mexico is a bit nerve wracking I have to admit. If there is anyone else going for that date I would love to hear from you - going to start taking some before pictures and measurements - and lots of prayers for a good outcome! Jen

    Hi Jen,

My 2 friends and I also have surgery on the 25th in Mexico, but with the other Dr. Ortiz at OCC. We are from Alberta. Maybe we will see you at the Marriott :)

  6. Thanks, Derbymama! Did the OCC nutritionist "approve" them or did you just try to get alternatives close to what they recommend?

She approved the nectar and then the GNC lady compared the 2 and said that they have been working with a WLS co ordinater in San Antonio and this is what they recommend. I do find that occ really recommends their brand, but from my understanding there isn't much of a difference

  7. Also...what Multi Vitamins and shakes are you guys using? I live in Canada and so shipping costs and taxes make the OCC recommended products more expensive. Have you used alternatives?

I am from Alberta and I am using nectar and GNC total lean pre op. I am hoping tonise them

Post op aswell, but I am not sure they will allow me too. So far no one see much of a difference in the Protein Shakes in use now and the OCC brand, so I am not sure. As for Vitamin I take two woman's once a day, 1500 of B12 and 5000 much of Biotin.< /p>

  8. Hi' date=' November Sleevers. Phillygal64 created a PRIVATE Facebook page if you're interested. You can search: NOVEMBER SLEEVERS SUPPORT GROUP or you can private message Phillygal64 with your e-mail and she will add you to the group. Hope to see you guys there![/quote']

I found one that was November 2013 sleevers- start if a new life, is that it? I can't find the other.

  9. I am 5'10", I swear i used to be 5'11", lol. Surgery is nov 25, I am currently between 307-310 on my scale. I haven't really thought of a goal weight, like some of you, thinking about being under 200 seems crazy, but my guess is maybe 170-180 for my height. My husband is 6-6'2 ish and is 220. He is pretty trim but solid. I don't know if I can compare my body to his though when it comes to how a certain weight would look. At 220 I would still look fluffy I would think.

  10. My first name is Tianna, I am from Northern Alberta Canada. My surgery is on Nov 25, at OCC Tijuana. I am 5' 10.5", weight 307ish ( depending in who's scale) I don't have a end goal weight in mind. Honestly, the thought of being under 200 seems impossible. I am very active and play Roller Derby. Myself and 2 other teammates are going together for the sleeve. 1 is actually getting a lap band removal and then either the plication or the sleeve. We scheduled it around our 2 month Christmas break, but I wish I would of done it right after our season was over. I could be down so much by now. Getting my mind, house and family ready for the pre op Protein Shake and green veggies diet, and am terrified of it, lol. But can not wait to start my new life! Yayy November :D

  11. .but with Alberta covering tummy tucks with doctor backing if for health reasons' date=' should probably get on that wait list now...no idea what they're like here[/quote']

Really?? I have heard some people talk about it, but didn't know. I wonder if the would cover it still, or even recommend it, after getting an out of country surgery?
