I was sleeved on the 5th and have lost 15 pounds since surgery plus another 30 from the pre-op diet. I am feeling great, not having any problems with Water or Protein intake (besides being sick of shakes and sweet stuff). I am on a stage 3 puréed diet for another week before I can eat soft foods. I really miss chicken! My clothes are starting to hang off of me, can't wait to get out of the size 20's!

Congrats! As of today. I am down 8 pounds since surgery day. Feeling good, but sick of my liquid diet. Are you having head hunger? I am and it's driving me crazy!

How are you other July 5thers feeling. I spent two nights in the hospital, rough but I am feeling so much better. Not having any problems getting down fluids or Protein. Energy level is low, abdomen is tight, but not on any pain meds.

Were you able to take in large amounts of liquids by day 5 post op? I have no problem getting down an entire Protein Shake in a few minutes. Is that weird? I expected to not be able to hold much at a time?

Glad you are feeling better! Today was my rough day. The gas pain is excruciating! Pain meds help, but they make me nauseous. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Today is the big day! Smooth surgery and comfortable recovery to my fellow July 5th sleevers!

Try not to worry! Hospitals don't take holidays! Somebody will likely call you today! You were right! I had to call them myself, but I am booked for 1030am tomorrow morning! Eeek!
Made it through the day on Clear liquids while everyone else enjoyed barbecue, booze and dessert. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, still had fun, even without food!

My surgery date is July 5th, but I don't know what time because the scheduler never called me back today! I am stressed because tomorrow is a holiday so I'm not sure how I will get the info. Clear Liquids of Fourth of July!

When is your surgery? If it is during the summer you are in luck. If you do not have any family to take care of your children during the day id suggest getting a mother's helper. This could be someone off for the summer in high school. You can pay them less than a babysitter because you would technically be there to supervise. My surgery is July 5th. That is a great idea!

Yea! My doctor doesn't require the liquid diet until three days before surgery but I think I will start tomorrow because I've had a few too many "food funerals" this last week.????

Thank you to all that replied! I really appreciate it!

Hello,
My surgery date is July 5th and I am starting to get really nervous. I have a few questions about the first few weeks post op...
1) Nausea. I can handle pain, but nausea will shut me down for sure. How many of you had it and for how long?
2) Kids. I have a four year old daughter who is going to want to play outside, go to the park, etc. Were you able to care for your kids without help the first week or two?
3) Water. Not for drinking but swimming. How long before you were able to be in a swimming pool or river? I live in a really hot part of Cali and I love my water play!
Thank you so much for your advice.????

I've been fat my whole life so I am really looking forward to the freedom from weight as well. Good luck to you!

I'm on July 5th as well! Getting nervous! Currently at 264, want to get down to 260 by surgery day. Have you started a Protein Shake diet yet?
