My friend and i both had surgery on may 28th. She was up and shopping in the mall the day we got discharged, when i still couldnt even stand up strait. It took me about 4 wks to feel like i could move well and not have the pain. Its amazing how everyone is so different. If you can help it, plz dont go back to work this soon. If you over due you will set yourself back

I'm obsessed' date=' I weigh 8-12 times a day.. pretty much every time I pass the bathroom. I even weigh in the middle of the night if I get restless. And I'm only 6 days out!! It's horrible[/quote']The best time to weigh is in the morning right after you pee with all your clothes off, because your weight will fluctuate during the day

Have you tried diffrent brands of protien shakes? I like some and hate others. At costco they have a brand called preimere and they are shakes they come in vanilla and choclate and they have 30 gr protien. Also i buy these bags of Protein Powder there by crosport, i have bought them for yrs for my vegetarian daughter. I make her a smoothie with fruits and milk or Water and one scoop provides 27 grams of Protein. What i do is alternate what i do as far as the shakes go to help keep me from getting tired of them.

What an awesome idea. Something i have been doing is saving gallon jugs and for each 8lbs i loose i fill them up with Water and set them in a laundry basket. Then when i feel discouraged i go pick up the laundry basket. So far im 6 wks out and only have 3 milk jugs full, but it is amazing to actually fill that weight that i had been carrying around. I cant wait till it has 12 jugs in it, i wont be able to pick it up.... Thats all the excess we were carrying with us!

I am 6 wks post op and have the same problem. I will feel like i need to have a big burp and rarely does it happen, but boy when it does it sure is exciting because you feel so relieved. Prior to surgery i didnt have any problems burping.

First off the best thing here is you know and you admit what you are doing wrong, you couldnt fix the problem if you didnt. I defiantly recommend that you treat this like your preop diet to get you out of this mode of cravings. Based on what you said i kind of got the impression that the stall you were in caused a bit of depression and you were thinking what the heck, im not losing anyway. Just remember stalls are normal. They depress me and i feel discouraged, but know i cant go back to food to make me happy!

I would contact a dr because it could be a blood clot in your lung causing the shortness of breath

I went through a really exhausted phase last wk so basically 3 wks post op and my dr told me to increase my fluids even more and i dont know if it was coincidence or not but it helped

Also only weigh in the mornings when you are naked right after you pee. Another thing that can effect your weight is time of the month for a women, or if you have had a lot of salt that day, because those both make us retain Water.< /p>

Surgery date 5-28
I had no nausea
I have a 22month old and 3.5 yr old. The older one understood mommy had owies and to be careful but my little guy didnt. I was also told no lifting for first 2 wks, which was impossible with the little one. Thank goodness i had help.
As far as Water, i am exactly 1 month post op and have yet to submerge in Water because i had insision issues and they wouldnt heal so i still have them bandaged. But my friend who had surgery the same day was able to swim at about 10 days. So everyone is different.
I also had a hard time bending over due to pain, which i dont know if that is common for others but its something else to think about since you will need to be bending over picking up toys and such

ok here is what I am taking on the non prescription supplement side: a multi-Vitamin specifically for bariatrics (chewable' date=' twice a day), B12 sublingual (every other day), and I am supposed to be taking Calcium every day but ran out of the samples my NUT gave me and can't find them in the drug store (I need to go to GNC tomorrow)...I am curious to compare that with what others are taking...also, I am curious about what type of calcium you are taking...my NUT told me to take calcium citrate (which is not the same as "regular" calcium supplements, which are called calcium carbonate I think)...she gave me some that are like square chewies that remind me of those Kraft caramels...I think she said for me to take 3 throughout the day...and then she said that I could take them with the multi Vitamin because the multivitamin she has me taking doesn't have Iron in it (the brand is Celebrate)...does all of this sound right to y'all? Is it similar to what your NUT or surgeon has recommended for you?[/quote']You can get those chewable calciums at costco if you have one near by

Just something to think about if you have to stay on a PPI long term. They aren't really meant to be taken as they now prescribe them. Initially they were always prescribed in 14 courses. Now due to the diet of Americans dr's now prescribe them long term and this is one of the disadvantages. I too take a high dose PPI now pre op and I am sure I will post op. I take 40mg protonix. And it works for now. But my body always seems to get used to it and I either have to increase or change PPI's I recently had some issue with chronic fatigue and low an behold it was low magnesium.Wow that is interesting about chronic fatique being related to low mag. Im always exhausted, in fact that is why i wanted this surgery to help give me energy. I have been on 40mg of protonix for probably 5 yrs. my pharmasist who is also my friend told me if im going to stay on them to make sure i keep my Calcium intake up because they deplete that too. Its scary the side effect drugs have
