    Albany, New York....?

~Update~ I am somewhere where I never thought I would be. Four months ago day of sleeve I was over 250 pounds. I do not weigh myself at home, I consider the scale my enemy, so I only weigh in at doctors. Well, I am now not only in 'onederland', but then then half of it! Weighed in today at 147!!! The sleeve was and is the best decision I have ever made! Think of you guys and wishing you nothing but success!

    Day of Surgery!

Your shouldn't be going back to work doing a standing job for about four weeks! Recovery is very important with this surgery as any. Take the time you need to recover. Everyone's pain threshold is different, as I personally didn't find it nearly what I expected. I expected a tremendous amount of pain and was beyond surprised of the little pain and discomfort I felt, and I'm a whimp lol.

Cher~ With your insurance it is cake is your BMI is over 35 and you have two conditions that are a cause of obesity. That is one of the easiest insurances to get it through from my experience. When you have Medicare it's a risk, you get the surgery and then they bill it to insurance and then the insurance decides. If they don't, then patient has to pick it up. With Medicaid and fed ilia you are golden!!

    Day of Surgery!

It's a straw, but it's not. I am told not to drink from a straw, and my program has everyone get these. They prevent any air from getting in (which is why we are told not to use straws). It is highly effective and I swear by it. Very good investment. Every bariatric patient should have one

Welcome Cher!!! What surgery are you looking into getting? Where abouts are you located?
  13. Tuna, Fish, Eggs, Corned Beef and Hash, Shakes obviously, peanuts (don't have them everyday). Tuna is my big one, they make so many different ones and different kinds it just doesn't get boring and very, very high in protein.
  14. Def stay away from the potatoes lol. I did am corned beef and hash when I was on soft, as well as milk with Ovaltine, muscle milk lactose free, eggs with a dab of salsa, and tuna. Their are SO MANY kinds of tuna, spicey Thai tuna I still do and love. I was sleeved four months ago and down over 95 pounds since say of sleeve.

    Valentine's Day

My hubby got me my fave box of chocolates which I treat myself to one every other day and a very nice card with a gift card in it. I had a glass of milk with Ovaltine for dinner and made him two beautiful lobsters, fett Alfredo with brocolli, rice, salad and home made bread. Yeah, he's a eater. Lol. Pic of dinner. Missing the second lobster because at this point I was still in kitchen slaving lol

    I said NO chocolates!

I am four months out and my husband got me my favorite chocolates even though I said I didn't want any. When I thought about it I realized he did it out of the kindness of his heart and also knowing I could 'treat' myself over time. So I gladly had one and had another one tonight. A chocolate here and there won't hurt, it's abusing the chocolate, or letting the chocolate abuse you lol.

    Is there anything more depressing...

I'm a male with short hair and am four months out and have run into this problem. I use biotin Nd never thought at age 28 I'd be using sprays to cover up missing spots. Little by little over the past couple weeks it SEEMS to be getting better.

    Debating sugery

I am a 28year old male and I am four months post op, down over 95 pounds since surgery date. I had a stroke a few years ago which effected my left leg and have me severe mobility issues. Following the surgery I am now more active, able to be active and not out of breath, able to move more freely, I'm off all my blood pressure and cholesterol medications as well as one seizure med, and feel amazing. You have no clue what the difference is until you have the surgery and I never thought I could or would ever feel this good. I am not able to love a 'normal' life and feel amazing. I hope this helped :-)
  24. I am lactose intolerant and I have use Lactaid Milk with a scoop of Ovaltine to get some of my protein in. She shakes, it is Laxtose Free Muscle Milk, or I mix VI Protein Powder with my Milk and Ovaltine.

Get this bottle called a Camelbak, it is EXTREAMLY effective for bariatric patients and it just looks like a regular water bottle, they come in many colors. You can get them online, just google Camelbak Bottle. They are very effective and they prevent any air from entering when drinking and also make it so your sips are controlled.
