    Broth Question

Swanson makes a good broth that is spicy, it's now. It's called Mexican and it's in the carton. I am almost six weeks post op and I used that prior to surgery as well as post op. It was much tastier then the regular broth. Hope that helped :-) Keep us updated

Love this question!! I had the sleeve almost six weeks ago and am down 52 pounds. My list would include.... *Being able to use the latter to set up Christmas decorations outside, which I now can as I am under the limit. *Zip lining, always sounded soooo fun and I look forward to doing it soon!!! *Ne able to go out and not be the one that needs to keep eating and eating and looking like a pig! *Not live my life constantly worried about obesity and death *Go on a roller coaster *Feel satisfied about what I look like and not avoid the mirrors around my house or anywhere

How Far Post Op Until Meat?

Varies on your program, how your doing and your doctors. My program it was six weeks, and they had me start meat at five. I will be six weeks out on this upcoming Monday. I have handled the meat perfectly fine. I'm down 52 pounds right now :-) Keep up the great work!!!!

    Terrible Psych Eval :(

The Psych evaluation can be done by your current therapist, your own, or one that the doctor recommends. I looked around and found one that was covered by my insurance. It's required by the program and the insurance, but only one is needed. Hope this helped.

    Before and After Pics

First picture is day of surgery and second two are from within the past two days. Five weeks out and already in 'Onederland' and down 52 pounds!
  9. What if? What if? What if? What if you could prevent a heart attack, would you? What if you could walk without feeling out of breath? What if you could look in the mirror sand say "damn, I look good"? What if you could stand on the scale and smile instead of pout? What if you could lower your blood pressure and cholesterol? What if you could enjoy a meal, and not over eat and still feel totally satisfied? What if??? I'm almost six weeks out from surgery and down 52 pounds. I was sleeved October 7th, 2013. I am now off of three blood pressure meds, two cholesterol meds, a diaretic, and a seizure med. I eat still, and enjoy eating my meals still, and enjoy it even more knowing I can still eat and have no desire to over eat. All these thoughts you have before surgery are normal, but don't second guess yourself, even though that is normal. You are about to become a new person. I don't mind looking in the mirror now, I actually love it lol. For the first time in YEARS I am in 'Onederland', which is being in the 100's. Stay positive and for the pre ops keep us updated! Wishing you all a speedy recovery (which it will be :-) )!!!!

    Smooth Recovery? Anyone?

Was sleeved almost six weeks ago on October 7th, 2013. Had a very smooth recovery and am down just over 50 pounds and feeling AMAZING!! Think positive and know that it is understandable to get very anxious and second guess, but don't! It's an amazing experience, and life changing and the results and feeling soon after are amazing! Please keep us updated

    OCTOBER SLEEVERS- How Ya Doin'?

Sleeve Siren ~ How about sugar free Popsicles? I ground it as a great way to add to my liquids and to get the full linguists in. Now I can do without them, but they really saved me in the beginning. Hope this helped :-)

    Albany, New York....?

Auntie Vick ~ sent you a private message with new phone number. Sounds like a plan to me :-) I'm fine with either one, they both sound good to me. Will talk to you tomorrow.
  14. My last supper was like feeding a family reunion, and boy was it great lol. Feeling the way you feel with anxiousness and what not is totally normal. Second guessing is normal, but try not to do it. This will be an amazing experience for you, as it has been for me. I am almost six weeks out and down 50 pounds. Enjoy your 'last supper' know that soon enough you will be ble to enjoy a meal, and have the restriction to assist you, not eat as much and feel amazing!! Best of luck!!!
  15. Moni~ It can vary from person to person but of it is STRICTLY a desk job id say a week. If it's a desk job plus a little more then I would say two weeks. If I had a desk job I would have gone back a week after surgery. Hope this helped

    Success/Failure of Sleeve

Don't second guess yourself, although it is normal. I am almost six weeks out from surgery and down 50 pounds. It you are committed you will do fine. Don't go back to any sodas, keep your liquids under 10 grams of sugar, and stay away from the crappy so called sliders.y nerves prior to surgery we're like yours, but once your post op it's really a totally new life and feeling and the urge for me is gone and I have no problem. You'll do fine, keep a positive attitude and wishing you nothing but the best of success. Please keep up updated.

I dont have $10 a month to waste on PF unless they had a pool!! I am thinking about a Y membership because I really want to do the swimming. U should soooo get one with me!!!

    Drinking While Eating

Never heard of being encouraged to drink with your meals after the sleeve, but follow what your doctor says I guess. I was fearful of the whole not drink 30 mins before or after eating, not knowing how hard it would or wouldn't be but I'm doing fine with it. When you drink you are forcing the food down which is stretching, which is not good. Surgery date: October 7th 2013 High weight:270 Start weight:252 Weight at day of surgery:232 Current weight:182
  24. I've always been one to have a fan in front of me, even in the winter which may seem crazy especially since winter in the northeast where I live is killer! But now I am five weeks post op and for four weeks I have been freezing my butt off piled with blankets and have the heat cranked to 72. We are finally experiencing what so called normal people feel, and I don't like this cold thingy!! Lol High weight:270 Start weight:252 Weight at day of surgery:232 Current weight:182
  25. You should be fine hum, don't stress, just 'behave' in the meantime. I gained a couple pounds when I had my appointment to get the surgery date, and as stupid as it sounds, I wore the thinnest pajama pants I had, a t shirt, no underwear or socks, no jewelry, no glasses, and took my shoes off, and did NOT drink or eat before that appointment that day and was just fine. I've given this advice to a couple people at my support group and they have used it and you would be surprised. Best wishes and please keep us updated High weight:270 Start weight:252 Weight at day of surgery:232 Current weight:182
