  4. Yea I was expecting to have to do them for a while from the way 'crushing meds' was mentioned so much in my bariatric support groups I went to. When I got home I would take ONE pill at a time. Take one, wait 5-10 mins and take another. Best of luck to you with this amazing journey! I am three and a half months out and down 91 pounds! Your going to do great and feel like you've never felt before soon enough!!
  5. My friend had hers a year and a half ago and when I saw her results after a few months I started the thinking process. I debated with it for about 8 months and then started the process myself. Three and a half months out and down 91 pounds since surgery date, no regrets what so ever!
  6. Ummm two words... HELL YEA!!!! :-) lol

    Need advice

Congrats! I am three and a half months post op and remember my diet like no tomorrow! It was a challenge but I did what I had to do to make it yummy! 18 days out I would have a tiny bit of scrambled eggs with a dab of salsa, or some corned beef and hash, or some spicy tuna which comes in a small can, they have a lot of different kinds of tuna which are yum, with my protein shake I mixed in two tablespoons of peanut butter and throw it in the blender, which I fell in love with and still do! I am three and a half months out and down 91 pounds! Keep up the good work! Keep us updated
  8. Mine were crushed while I was in hospital, not all just some. I was able to not crush them anymore once I was released from hospital and got home. I was released from hospital four days after surgery, so that's when I my meds were no longer being crushed. Hoped this helped
  9. Hi Brant! Your are doing great! Keep up the great work! I chose the sleeve as well and was sleeved in October as well, October 7th. Three and a half months out and I am down 91 pounds. So were are Sleeve Buddies Keep up the great work!!!
  10. This is NORMAL! Don't get discouraged. You have swelling that you are carrying and this can for some people be for a couple weeks. When I was a week out I was still a few pounds heavier then when I went in. Now I am three and a half months out and down 91 pounds! Don't stress it!! Just relax, get your rest, fluids and water down and enjoy the journey :-)

    Before and After Pics

I have gotten an amazing support system here on Bariatric Pals and figured I would give this a shot as well. Being sleeved in October of last year I've gotten pretty close to some people on here and have received a lot of support. There is currently a Fundraiser being held for a medical devise I am in need of called a WalkAide which the insurance company has denied. This device is a life changer for me. Below is the link to read my brief story. ANY help would be beyond appreciated, every dollar is a step towards my getting the device! Thank you all for all the support you have given me and keep up the amazing work!!! http://walkaidefundraiser.myevent.com

    Albany, New York....?

Support groups during the day are at 25 Hackett Blvd, it's in the same building as the bariatric center for Albany medical center. The groups are on the first floor in the conf room. Day ones are a lot smaller, a lot, and it's not the same crowd you would get in the evening. I guess I've just gotten so used to the people in the evening group that it is like 'my thing' to go to that one lol
  19. I'm so sorry to hear that. Does your husband have a weight problem for him to be so insecure? He is a bit overweight, which I believe is why he has suddenly gotten these insecurities. He is just about six foot weighing 240. It is what it? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

    Adderall + Xanax post op?

I am actually on both Adderall and Xanex. From the over a dozen meds I was on, those are now the only two I am on post op besides my vitamin and Coumadin. If you are having the sleeve I see no reason why you would not be able to. I know with the bypass they are a little bit more picky with time release meds. I am three and a half months post op and I am still able to take these meds. Hope this helped :-)

    Albany, New York....?

Jules~ Albany Med you say? Well that's my Hospital :-) lol. They do have a day time support group but I don't go to it because I hate to say it but I just don't care for the crowd there :/ the support group I go to is on Thursdays from 530-730pm, and some ppl leave early, come late. Maybe if you happen to get a Thursday off you can come, or down the road you can play hooky lol. I had a Greek Salad tonight and OMG yum! Lol I love my salad and truthfully that was what I wanted for my one food after my post op diet! Egg salad...ummm can you say yummy! Lol. Trust me when I went to soft, egg salad was my lover lol. I just had to mix it extra extra well to make it smooth. My taste buds have changed since surgery, let me know if you happen to have that change at all, I'd be interested in knowing. It's actually benifited me, because the foods I no longer care for were the bad bad ones lol. Congrats on starting the new job! What is it exactly that your doing if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Jim! My program focuses on water intake, protein intake, and consuming less then 10grams of sugar in a drink or food. If it has 10 or more grams of sugar it's a no go for me. Breakfast is usually a Fiber One Protein Bar, or a shake. I use VI Protein mix which you can only get online, it taste great. I mix that with a scoop or two of peanut butter, and some skim milk. My lunch and dinner vary, but I have been on this tuna kick lately lol. They have so many different kinds, I'm a HUGE fan of the spivey tuna that's in a really small can and it comes with crackers. It is very high in protein and I just throw the crackers out. I still go out with my friends to lunches and dinners, I usually will pick off a friends plate, or just order fish and ask them to put the sides in a to go box, not on my plate and I give them with whomever I am with to bring home for them. As for working out, I do basic. I got an ab roller plus online and use it a little bit every day, not long. It's very basic, small and easy to use. U actually use it sitting down lol. I just started using the five pound weight and I just do little arm exercises with it when I am watching a show. :-) Sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the good work!!!

You look great! Two thumbs up! Thanks!!!! :-)
  24. Continuation from my post. Just wanted it to be know, prior to my surgery we had a VERY good relationship, very strong, committed, and we adored each other, it really was a great relationship.
  25. Sadly, this is the case with me. I was sleeved three and a half months ago, and down 90 pounds from surgery, and 20 from preop diet, so just about 110 down. I am a gay male, legally married in New York. My husband has very much changed. There is a lot of jealousy, self consciousness and insecurities on his end and so forth since surgery. I have under gone some pretty verbally abusive comments that have hurt like h#ll. Going into the surgery I knew the risk of this happening and I chose my health which to me is my number one priority. Knowing that the decision I made will most likely end up with a divorce on my end, I still have no regrets. I did it for the right reasons, my health, and my future. I have no regrets besides not doing it sooner. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger :-) Hope this helps :-)
