I'm sorry. Try deep breathing Have you tried medical message ? I was thinking of trying that.
I'm not sure what medical message is?

I know what you mean. When my fibro flares up its all i can do to get out of bed in the morning. Are there alternative things to do? Relaxation' date=' ice, heat, stretching...anything that helps with the pain? Any other MEDS for a temporary fix? Hopefully you will be able to relax some. Of course there's always exercise
(Yea, right!). I've found that as I lose weight, the pain is not as bad. Hopefully that will be the case with you.[/quote']
I've been using heat right now for the RA. I just don't know what to do for the lupus, nothing helps. It's just miserable!!!
-
Oh man, I have been doing so good these past few weeks. Yesterday I had a horrible lupus flare and then it happened again today. My RA is also acting up. I wish so bad I could take a methotrexate shot, but I can't.

I know weighing at night is not advised but including the two week diet, I've lost 27lbs! Extremely happy with my sleeve!

Hi all. My starting weight is 387. I am 6 days post-op and I'm down 21lbs. I hope it keeps coming off like this.

I do have to say my Rheumatologist preferred the band to the other options....my surgeon preferred the rny....I made them both compromise. While I will never be able to use nsaids again' date=' I will be able to continue on my steroids, which the surgeon said would be a definite no no after a rny......so we will see......one day at a time.[/quote']I couldn't have the band because I have lupus along with my RA. They said it would cause even more inflammation in my body.

I'm using Dr. Katsis. Take it easy & don't overdo it.
Katsis is the one who released me from the hospital. He was a hoot! Bailey is such a great hospital with wonderful Dr's and staff!

How was your 1st day at work? I'm havibg my surgery on a Tuesday and going back to work the following Monday. I sit at a desk all day so Dr. Kirk didn't think it would be a problem.
Oh I just love Dr. Kirk!! Who's doing your surgery? I had Varnell and love him! Work was okay yesterday. I had to go to the nurses office and lay down around noon. I'm still very sore but the weight is dropping off! Good luck and let us know how it goes!!!!

My dr has not said I can do pudding or cream soups... I hope I get that approval on Wednesday. If not... I'll be in a real bad mood!. I can say' date=' and this is very gross, but I have chewed a few things... Chewed and spit it back out no swallowing.. Then rinsed my mouth really well.. Sometimes you just need to chew something and gum didn't work.. I am going to try the kook aid favors.. I hope they help[/quote']
I was cleared for Soup and pudding but I was told no gum! They said the gum would cause me to swallow air and fill my pouch up. Chewing and spitting is a good idea! I may have to try it!! I hope the kool-aid helps too. It has really helped me so much!

Ladybug' date=' the liquid has been the hardest part for me. You literally have to sip all day.. I'm not getting all mine in either, but I'm getting enough.. The other thing is the variety of liquid... I'm tired of Water, shakes and broth... I like the Jello, so it helps, but I can't wait for soft foods...[/quote']I understand, I'm ready to chew something. For the water, I bought Kool-Aid squirt bottles that are SF. I love them, the flavoring is awesome! I'm also eating SF pudding and cream Soups. I'm so so sick of broth! Makes me gag thinking about it. Lol!!!

I physically feel fine... Little to no pain' date=' the hardest part has been getting the fluids in...[/quote']Lucky you!! I had mine 8/7 too. The second and third day I was so nauseated. Now, I am sore in my stomach and back. I've tried to get all my liquid in and I absolutely can't!

I was feeling the lack of meds right up to my surgery. The funny thing is, I haven't felt that bad the past 5 days post op. the specialist I go to said that the surgery threw my body in shock. He wants me to get prepared in case I have a bad lupus attack or bad RA flare up.

They can't hit me either! I had to have a PICC line in place before surgery.

Yes' date=' I had some pudding yesterday and today.....was the best thing ever! You're already going back to work? I feel for you....I'm scheduled off for 2 weeks, and just hoping I feel like going back then....I sure couldn't imagine going back tomorrow. Good luck![/quote']
I'm a teacher, so tomorrow is inservice. I just have to sit all day. I'm good at doing that right now because it hurts to move. Three different schools will be there and only a few know that I had surgery. They will obviously know when I walk in hunched over and holding my tummy because of being so sore. So, I'm pretty nervous for tomorrow!!!!
-
Are you still sore? I am.....still just the one area' date=' but that's more than enough. My NUT said limit myself to one cup of Decaf tea a day, but today that's all I've really been able to drink.
Feeling quite emotional today too.....hoping that passes soon <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']
Yes, I am horribly sore!! Not just my stomach but my back! I actually think my back hurts worse. Today, I had diluted cream Soup and pudding. It tasted amazing!!! I start back to work tomorrow, not so sure about that!!! I'm five days out!
-
So glad you're home! Sorry about the nausea <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Take it easy & keep us posted.
Thank you and I sure will. Just taking it day by day. So happy the nausea is gone!!!!!

Where do you get the liquid? Does it taste as bad as the chewable?
