    Mid-life crisis, anyone?

Maybe you just need to find an outlet to burn off some energy. If you're happily married and don't want to jeopardize that then I agree that going out without him is a slippery slope. Are you still working out? Cross fit clubs do competitions on weekends...or could your kids' PTAs, sports clubs appreciate a highly educated board member as yourself? Good luck. I've only lost half of what you have but I find myself looking for fun things to get involved in often. I can empathize with having ants in your pants.
  2. I ate 3 slices of Papa John's 'The Works' thin crust pizza last night. It took me 3 hours but "I WIN!" Not.......???? oink oink
  3. Thank you for posting this. It really put it in perspective for me. I was really feeling down on myself for all my recent cheats and seeing your post reminded me that I've had worse days than the one you posted pre-op. I wouldn't have stopped at two cookies.....I would have filled up a paper towel full and dunked them in a big glass of milk! Good luck on your surgery!

Where do you learn/find all the info?

Here's what I was sent home with....
  5. For real! I actually only drank about a third to half of the soda and maybe 3 cups of the popcorn throughout the whole hour movie. Thankfully the sleeve demands portion control but yes, I'm confessing my VERY BAD binge in a proposed "no judgement" thread.
  6. My husband & I went to the movie theatre last night & got the large popcorn & 2 large sodas combo. We put extra butter on the popcorn & I drank my diet coke through a straw while I ate specifically to get the popcorn to slide down faster so I could fit some more kernels down my fat cheating face!
  7. I lost right at 30 lbs by 2.5mos. First 20 being in the first month, 10 in second month, slower now. Approx 6lbs 3rd month.

    Eating post op?

I think it's a personal choice how you want to reach your goal weight and live with your sleeve. Some people choose not to eat things because they're trigger foods, others avoid carbs because they want to reach goal as quickly as possible, some cut out foods completely that their new tummies don't tolerate and cause them to feel ill. I have a personal friend that barely worked out and never denied herself a bite or two of anything she craved and is trying to stop losing weight. She is 5' 8" SW: 280 CW: 140. It's a very personal journey that I've noticed most people modify to their own personal standards/justifications.

Where do I stop...goal weight related....

I'm having issues with the advice "stop when you feel comfortable". Stop what? Stop exercising? Stop eating healthy? If you're suggesting we "stop losing weight" what is the solution? Cakes? French fries? Potato chips? That's a slippery slope. I've NEVER had a problem gaining weight before surgery but this may be a reality for some of us in the future. Good luck and I stay HEALTHY.

Looking for tips for after surgery.

I lived on SF jello, SF pudding, SF Popsicles & fudgesicles, broth/consommé & premier protein chocolate shakes (Sam's club). Don't skip buying the broth. You'd be surprised how bad you'll crave something salty & you'll crave chewing something so go get Sonic ice. I also fell in love with Mojito flavored Crystal Light. Take your pain meds & sleeeeeep as much as you need or want to. Warn your friends and family you may not be good company. You're not gonna have a whole lot of energy. I was like a baby. I could only stay awake about 2 hours. My husband kept us stocked with Redbox movies. I'd get through a movie & have to go to sleep. LOL. Remember, it gets better every day. I think most everyone has had a rough day & asks themselves "WTH did I get myself into?" It's temporary & a small price to pay for a healthier future. We'll all be here waiting to help you through......
  13. I'm 5' 3.5" SW: 230 6/6/13 CW: 186 9/16/13 So I've lost 44 lbs I believe it's safe to assume 99% of everyone sleeved WANTS to eat more but can't.

    I'm not proud of this....but....

We went to a hibachi grill. The one that cooks the food in front of you. Well this place apparently puts teriyaki sauce on EVERYTHING. Ugg. My scallops & shrimp blew out my a 15 minutes later in their bathroom. Later when I took my daughter to the bathroom they had an 'out of order' sign on the door! LOL. Seriously? It's not like I **** all over the wall.... I didn't miss the toilet. I PROMISE! We made a hasty retreat and never went back. Sorry Kobe Grill.

    Staples or glue ?

I have staples on my sleeve and had dissolvable stitches right underneath my skin and glue on top of the skin. I asked for the glue because I'm allergic to surgical tape. I was very pleased with my decision. The scars are very small and almost unnoticeable. Staples on the outside scared me because I didn't want them yanking them out while I was awake. They'd have to put me under again. LOL!

Wow! Our stats are almost exact. Would you mind sharing your exercise routine & diet you followed mostly throughout your year? Any plateaus & resolutions for those along the way? Dish the deets! LOL
  19. I was 140 when I married my husband 17 years ago & was sleeved at 230. I'm down to 187 now. My husband told me I was always beautiful, I'm just showing off now. This experience has made me fall even deeper in love with him. I've never had a surgery prior to this one & all the ways he helped in my recovery was eye opening. This man cherishes me.......
