  1. I just finished my second week of C25K I was just wondering if anyone else stalled when they started to run. My weight hasn't moved since I started.

Gentlemen... Please advise me! Re: Cheating

I've been married twice (happily the second time). But I believe that your heart knows the answer (what ever that may be). Sometimes it is hard to hear what our heart is trying to tell us. You are a beautiful women and from your posts you sound like you are becoming courageous and strong. I'm sure you will make the right decision! Trust yourself
  3. I am 3 months post-op and I am in my second week of couch to 5k. I'm finding the runs challenging, but, they are not killing me. What I have noticed is that the day that I run (I run early in the morning) and the following day (rest day) I am completely exhausted like someone has taken the stuffing out of me. Has anyone else felt this way or does anyone have any suggestions of what might help? thanks

    Exhausted after Couch to 5K?

That's a good point - I'm running in pretty extreme heat & humidity so I probably need to be drinking a lot more on those days. I hadn't considered dehydration.

    goal weight achieved

Wow congratulations on all the hard work! I'm aiming for 57kg but still have a long way to go.

    Diverticular Disease

I was diagnosed with it pre-sleeve when I had a colonoscopy. It is very common in people who are obese (my guess would be that you had it pre-sleeve also). My grandmother also had the same thing, so I think there is maybe a genetic component as well.
  7. Wow that's quite weird - also sleeved 1st July, also 48 pounds down and 52 to go! I can't believe I am almost half way. Feels great to have some weight off. My weight loss has slowed to about 2 pounds a week (not complaining). I am curious to know if everyone has experienced the same thing?
  8. I bought vanilla flavor and then added decaf coffee or low calorie drinking chocolate (choc/mint) with lots of ice and it definitely improved the flavour.

    9 weeks post op

I was having a major issue with wanting to graze in the evening. I have found that a cup of low cal hot chocolate (30cals) each night is keeping my night time eating at bay. Maybe look for some healthy substitutes.
  10. what a great story! Congratulations on loosing so much!

    Is it normal?

From my experience that feeling early on was acid reflux (gnawing feeling in the stomach). Check with your doctor.

    Sleeved sept 10

I would think it's probably your bodies reaction to the trauma of surgery and change in diet. You will probably find that in the next week or two you will suddenly start loosing again. My husband had to keep reassuring me that I wasn't going to just loose 10 lbs. I found mixing something with the water like crystal light makes it easier to drink. I'm 10 weeks post op and I still struggle to drink plain water (it really hurts as it goes down). Just constantly sip fluid. It is the single most important thing you need to do now. May that your number one priority each day and you will start making strides. I hope that helps :-)

    Help!

I had C-diff post op which is really nasty and causes similar symptoms. Check with your doctor and make sure that you don't have some type of gastro infection.

    Breastfeeding

Not sure about the breastfeeding - but wanted to send you a huge congratulations! How exciting for you.
  16. Great to know! I'm at 10 weeks post-op and it's falling out like crazy. Fortunately I have really thick hair, but not for long at this rate.
  17. Congrats Bec! keep up the great work!
  18. Lissa Congrats! What an amazing story and what an amazing achievement! You have really motivated me.

    Do i smell or something?

How about inviting your friends to join you in a non food related activity. I have found catching up for coffee or going shopping with friends fun activities post sleeve. I haven't told anyone so it helps me in not having to answer a million questions about why I am not eating. Good luck!

    I'm embarrassed...

I have definitely felt this way! I still have gym phobia but I found that it helps to just make your goal getting to the gym initially. The fact that you were in the parking lot is great. maybe next time make your goal to get through the door and walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes (or less) and then the following time 15 minutes on the bike. Just showing up is half the battle. You will get there!! Just take baby steps initially.

    Anyone not tracking?

My doctor suggested that I didn't count calories. He thinks that it was more important that I listened to my body and at 10 weeks post op I can sometimes eat approx 1/4 cup and sometimes 1/3. It's weird but sometimes I am very full after half an egg and sometimes I can eat a whole egg without any problems. I usually eat three meals a day with a low cal hot chocolate in the evening (when I need a little sweet fix). I am conscious of what I'm drinking and carry a water bottle everywhere I go but don't measure. The one little thing that is tripping me up at the moment is drinking too many calories which I REALLY need to cut out. (it's just a bad habit)
  22. I'm 10 weeks post op (down 45 lbs) and have started to notice that my breasts have relocated to a new position (you can assume that they haven't moved up my chest). I have also noticed that I have a little sagging in my arms and my belly looks like it did just after giving birth (deflated balloon). How soon after having surgery did you notice loose skin?

    New To Gastric Sleeve

Yes Yes Yes! I felt exactly like you did and I'm pretty sure most people do. I am now 9 weeks post-op and instead of being a major thing, it is now a minor frustration (once or twice a week). The one thing that I promised to do for myself is buy GOOD food despite how little I eat. When I go to a restaurant and I see a main course dish I like I order it, despite only being able to eat a 10th of it, because I don't want to deny or punish myself. I hope that helps. It will definitely get easier in the next couple of months!
  24. WOW! congratulations on the weight loss. You must feel amazing.
  25. thanks everyone for the tips. It's very helpful. I unfortunately don't throw up but it sometimes results in feeling a lot of pain and of course I'm concerned that I will stretch my sleeve if I don't get it under control. I think it's because I miss food (emotionally) and when it's in front of me I just want to inhale it like I did pre-sleeve. I will definitely try the timer.
