  1. Hi..I can totally relate to you! I am feeling the same thing, except I was banded July 07 and only have lost a total of 40 lbs! I know part of it is me...I need to seriously seek group counseling or something to get me going again..to feel as excited as I once was when I got banded. Overall, I have managed to keep the weight off, but I know I should be losing weigh more!!!!

Tell me how you do and what you plan to do maybe it will inspire me!

  2. Hey All, I'm a 7/17/07 bandster and so far have ONLY LOST 15 LBS. I can't say I'm being a great girl about it, I do overeat overdrink those empty calorie foods...I don't even feel like I even have a band on...I want to feel more restricted and really begin to see the weight come off.......

  3. I;m a 7/17 bandster, too and have only lost 10 lbs. I understand that the first couple of weeks are for healing, but it seems I read how many others are losing rather quickly even before the 1st few fills.... I feel like I'm eating more during the evenings, because the mornings for me are easy slimfast for Breakfast, and another for lunch....But once dinner arrives, I start picking here, then picking there.....it's mushy stage right now, but I'm more hungry in the latter part of the day....HELP!!!!

  4. Hey I'm a teacher too, and was just banded 7/17. We begin classes 8/15, but need to be in before that 8/9! I'm a little worried about just getting around. The soreness is going away, now I worry about the moving around. (I teach pre-school kids) I guess I'll just see how that goes....

  5. Hi all I'm 4 days post op and can finally get around a little better! The liquids have not been so bad. What I am dealing w/ is itchiness around the incisions. Anyone else? Plus, I guess a little nervous to leave the house. Maybe it's too soon anyhow. I've kinda been moping around since the 17th. Anyone else feel that way? Maybe it's too soon anyhow...let me know what ya think????

  6. Congrats! I was banded 7/17 and still have some pain, like when getting out of bed or from a sitting position. I have this very heavy bloated feeling, I hoep it goes away soon. I'm on full liquid diet now, not so bad, either. I ask myself though, "did I do the right thing?" And the response I get is when I start to really begin to lose, I won't be asking myself that anymore ) Good luck to you...

  7. Hey Lucky 7's I was finally banded yesterday 7/17!! The only pain I'm having is when I get up from a sitting position or from laying down. I'm wondering since I like to sleep on my stomach and side, how long will I be able to go back to my sleeping position. LAst night was a miserable one, I did manage to sleep on my side, but turning from one side to another was tough!!

  8. Hey July bandsters!! Ready or not here I come....I go in on the 17th to be a "banded woman"...I am really nervous about the anesthesia(sp) only because I have never ever been in any kind of a surgery before that requires me not to be awake!! Any words about the whole being under and the feeling you get after you wake up???

  9. Way to go Melissa! I, too am nervous, I go in to get banded on Tues 7/17. I think I'm more worried about the anesthesia (sp) at this point. I've never ever had any kind of surgery so that frightens me a little. Then, I think I worry about will I get enough nutrients, will eating less make me sick (yeah, right! ;o) but I mean will I eb eating enough not to feel sick. Anyway, wish me luck too....I'll be a "banded women" come Tues!!!!!!

  10. Hey Patti, GREAT for you! I bet you can't wait! I am so excited, too, and a little anxious. I have read how many of you have pre-op diets, and tests and all kinds of steps prior to the surgery. That must be for insurance reasons. ?? Actually, my pre op appt is on 7/12, then I will have surgery right away on 7/20! No real time for all those series of steps. I'm beginning to wonder if that is the "right" way. I know my ins. is paying 100%, without going through any red tape. In my mind that HAS to be the reason I'm not having to wait any further.

  11. Hey July 07 banders...I'm joining in on the fun! My name is Raquel, I'm from the Kansas City area. I only started lap band research earlier this year and I cannot believe how smoothly things are rolling for me. I have my pre-op visit on 7/12 and surgery scheduled for 7/20! I believe alot has to do with my insurance. They are covering the whole thing @ 100%! I'm also a little nervous about the actual procedure. Other than having 3 kids, I've never had to be in the hospital or surgery table EVER! My biggest fear is the anesthsia (sp)! I think I'm going to not wake up from it....Pretty crazy, huh? However, I know that this is the absolute, best decision I have ever made, so that outweighs some of my fears. Good luck to you all!!

  12. Traci--I just love your pics that show your weight loss progress!! Thanks for the response. My husband's coworker used WLSC, the Overland Park office and her ins. covered 100%, (I have the same ins) so I am hoping for the same coverage. I believe, though only one DR there can do the surgery for me...so I am hoping it's not the DR you were told about....do you remember who that might be??

  13. For me, only my husband, kids and 2 sisters know! And, I have sworn them to secrecy! I haven't even had the DR. consultation yet, still in the early process. But, still it's something I am not ready to share with the world! (just yet) That is why I just love this forum! It gives me the liberty to discuss the topic with all of you who obviously share some of my same thoughts. I'm happy with just the way it is now. Plus it's fun to go back to my spouse and share with him some of the things you all have to say
