Tami- I had the same issue and my Doctor prescribed Priolsec or Prevacid- both available now over the counter. Just make sure it's Omeprazole.
take it daily and it has helped a ton. If I skip a day- it starts to creap up on me. My doctor also put me on a Calcium supplement because antacids remove that from your system. You'll notice a huge difference in a few days!

"Where is everyone else?? Has everyone just went and gotten all skinny on us and quit following lapbandtalk?"
Hey All.........I'm back, finally after being off here for a while! Great to see how everyone has been doing. I haven't changed my ticker yet- down 100lbs!!!! Took a while- did get a complete un-fill last year due to cancer treatments and needing better nutrition. Gained about 25 lbs! I went kind of food crazy (obviously that's why I need the band)!! Kicked the cancer, got a fill, lost the 25lbs I gained plus some and feeling great. Next step- Tummy Tuck and reduction!

Down 100 lbs finally! It has been over two years, but I finally did it! I would have done it sooner, but last year I had a complete unfill due to cancer treatments.......and I put some pounds back on!
One year cancer free, two years weight free! Life is good! I feel amazing and love all the comments I get about how wonderful I look.
It is possible for the band to work. After 2 years I can finally say that I love my band and wouldn't change it for the world.

Went in last week for a complete unfill due to recent medical conditions unrelated to the band. After a week of an unfill, I am now reminded of why I have the band in the first place. I am feeling no restriction for the first time in 18 months and I can eat anything. Old habits die hard, but I am trying to keep a grip on it. I don't want to gain weight and if I could just stay the same I would be fine- wow it's hard! I would have thought that after 18 months of restriction I would have better self control........it's scary and a little depressing to think I can just slip right back..........

You will hear that a lot on this web site, it isn't uncommon to be tight in the morning (internal swelling from laying down). I have been very tight in the AM for a while. It takes me about 2 hours to drink 1 cup of coffee. I am just used to it now and I start drinking a ton in the afternoon. After 2pm I am good to go!

I don't enjoy eating anymore.......things taste different and dull. I'm at the "why bother" point and I have to make myself eat so I don't pass out. I guess it isn't as fun as it was before because my eating was for "sport"- now I have a grip on my eating and it's not a free for all anymore!
Don't get me wrong- I love not being dependent on food and it's great not to be constantly thinking about food!

Mine is on my right side just below my ribs.....I can very easily feel it too!

Cool bike Manatee! I sold my Bow Flex and my Elliptical too! Bought an Ab-Lounger and new clothes!
Good luck with biking!

My Doc said after 6 months was fine, like above mentioned-no carbonation! Liquor does affect me much quicker than it did before surgery (learned that the hard way) I can have 1 mixed drink and stop there- that's enough! It's great- between hardly eating and barely drinking, I love my cheap date nights! Cut our bill in 1/2!

Unjury is great, and can be ordered online for a good price! I bought some of their sample packs first. It was great to figure out what I wanted and liked first. If you are like me, I've tried and purchased several in large quantities, only to find out that I disliked the taste!
I also like AnyWhey (flavorless) and you can add it to all your foods with no taste and an added boost of Protein. It's a good price too and I find it all over at drug stores and GNC.
The EAS the above people talked about is good too, I just get burned out easily and got tired of the EAS. I'm always looking for different ones at a good price and to keep things exciting!

If it doesn't feel better by the end of the day, I would get an un-fill. I had the same thing happen 2 times and I just needed a tiny un- fill. You don't want to be too tight for too long- it can cause erosion.
Good luck!

Yummy, bread and butter pickles are my treat when I'm craving sweets! I have no problem with pickles- to my surprise! I did find out the other day that I have a problem with plums- go figure!

Congrats to you! I just had my anniversary 2 months ago...........I know how the ice cream thing is-my weakness! Wasn't before surgery, but sure is now!
Keep up the good work!

That's weird........I've been really tight for the past three days. Haven't had a fill in months, not stressed and not that time of the month. I'm hoping it relaxes on it's own- but maybe it's what you are talking about "the common thing around a year"?
-
I was the same way too.........recliner is what I did for the first 4 days, then like above, I did on my back with a pillow under my port side. This helped me to be a little on my side but still have support under my port and wasn't uncomfortable. Don't fret- within a few more days you'll probably be on your side and comfortable!

I had surgery on Thursday afternoon and went to work on Tuesday Morning to a desk job. I felt fine, just a little tired. Stopped taking my pain meds on Saturday after surgery (they made me tired). Driving was no problem 2 days after surgery. You should be fine! Best wishes to you-let us know how it went!

Everyone looks great.....I've got to figure out how to put some pictures on here!
-
Manatee..........you look great! You should be proud!

I had port pain for a few weeks after surgery. A pulling, bruising, tight sore feeling. They sew your port to a muscle with stitches and this can make it sore for a while. As long as it's not infected, your pain should diminish!

You shouldn't have a problem, but don't count on eating too much.....buffet's have a whole new meaning and you won't be able to eat that much. I took a cruise 2 months ago and for the first time in my life, I didn't gain weight!
-
LOL..................
"Isn't that taking the easy way out?" was one of my favorite comments!
-
You said it very well, 1 year out- almost to my goal and I still find myself taking large portions and dreaming of the days when I could eat a pizza!!! It definitely is a mind set, I still have the addicting mind of an obese person, thank God for the band to keep me in check!

I had 13 surgeries when I was a child thru teen and I know exactly what you are talking about! The smell, the taste, the vomiting after surgery.........yucky!!!! I can say, I was worried about that with my Band surgery and even mentioned it to my anesthesiologist. Things have come a long way-no smell, no taste and no vomiting. Woke up from surgery with none of that. They did give anti-vomiting meds before and after surgery as well. You shouldn't experience any of the things you did when you were a kid. I was so relieved and had a great experience. Best wishes!

I'm going to try the Aloe juice as well. I've been on the prevacid for years and I too would prefer a more natural approach. Where do you buy it at?
