  1. Oh ok! Vineland's not that far of a drive anyway. I'm with Dr. Onopchenko, so the surgery will be in the city at AtlantiCare.
  2. I cant let his opinion hinder me from becoming a better ME! I just dont get people. I think you said it best "Someone who has never lived the struggle will never know or understand our battle " I get it... I'm not upset with him and in my heart I know he is just ignorant to my struggle.
  3. *~* RANT *~* :-) Well, I'm sure we've all had a friend/family member who just didn't agree with our decision to "take the easy way out" (aren't you so tired of hearing THAT one)! My brother is ADAMANT that I should not get this surgery and just work harder at dieting and exercise... Yet, the longer I stay heavy the more fat jokes I hear! If i go to the gym 5 days in a row, I hear "you're over doing it"... if i turn down a slice a pizza, i hear "don't act like you're on a diet". If nothing else, I want to be able to eat less and exercise my heart out but the scale just won't budge! My cousin did the sleeve first, and she warned me not to tell people before, because they would just try to discourage you from getting it done. I assumed my brother would be supportive since he's seen me struggle with my weight all these years. His decision hasn't deterred me in any way.. I NEED this for MY reasons, no one else's. its just saddening that I need to defend becoming healthier through surgery against spending the rest of my life on these unsuccessful, never-ending diets & exercises!
  4. South Jersey, Egg Harbor Township (10 mins from AC)! Still in the beginning stages of my journey... First consult June 27th... The day before my Bday!
  5. Definitely in your cheeks and chin!!! BEAUTIFUL! Congrats!
  6. I've been on Phentermine since January (no results although it DEF suppresses my hunger). I've tried so many diets over the years :-( 3 months I can deal with!
  7. I am still early in my process... I have scheduled my consult and one of the support group meeting this particular doctor requires attended... I am tempted to schedule a future appt with my PCP for clearance :-) but they get you in pretty quickly anyway so I have no worries for that. I just really want to get this started by sept/oct!
  8. Anyone have or heard of the insurance process with BCBS? I called member services to make sure it was covered and under what qualifications but I read other BCBS plans have required a 6 month waiting period!?! I PRAY not!!! I'm too anxious to get this done and not that I'll lose my courage in 6 months but if my mind keeps racing and obsessing like it has for the last month, I may not survive LIFE for another 6 months!!!!
  9. Just taking a picture BESIDE them won't be as intimidating! Lol.
  10. I know the feeling!! I'm 27 and have spent majority of my life "big"! I enjoy things as much as I could but there have been plenty of instances that my weight/health has hindered me! I went indoor rock climbing last year and could barely climb the wall! I went to Jamaica 2 years ago and had to chuck half my photos because I hated how big I looked! I'm sure loosing weight will be like living in a whole new world to us! I can't wait until my consult!!!
  11. Congrats Casey!!! I wish I started my journey when I was your age!!!
  12. Cant wait to get that far! I'm anxious to jump the gun on EVERYTHING and schedule appointments! Good Luck!
  13. Sounds good. I havent had to go through any of that yet but hopefully I wont want to kill myself when I do!! I cant imagine eating nothing but liquids for a DAY let alone WEEKS! GREAT JOB!
  14. AKMYS11, congratulations! I haven't been sleeved yet, I haven't even had my consult yet :-)! "difficult" how?
