  1. Congrats!! I get my surgery date on your surgery date! Lol! I'm getting antsy and anxious!
  2. T.I. Feat Rihanna... Live Your Life "You're gonna be a shining star, with fancy clothes, fancy car-ars. And then you'll see, you're gonna go far. Cause everyone knows, who you are-are. So live your life, ay ay ay. You steady chasing that paper. Just live your life (Oh!), ay ay ay. Ain't got no time for no haters Just live your life (Oh!), ay ay ay. No telling where it'll take you. Just live your life (Oh!), ay ay ay."
  3. I am 28... I started this journey the day before my 28th birthday (6/28). My consult was a breeze. I'm 5'6 and 264 lbs. My BMI is 42. I was diagnosed with HTN (hypertension) in 2011 but I never took the medication because everytime I took my BP it was ok. Of course when I got to my consult it was high (Sorta a good thing/advantage). He said Im a good candidate for the surgery and with my insurance I can be cheduled for surgery by the end of August. Im aiming for September because I have a planned vacation at the end of August (my last vaca in plus-size clothing). The doctors office requires 2 nutritionist visits (my first is on 8/4) 1 Psych eval (7/16), a support group meeting (7/16), Labs/Endoscopy/Chest Xray (7/9) and my pcp clearance for surgery (7/16). In anticipation of all of these appointments, I jumped the gun and made the appointment weeks before my consult (all but the nutritionist and Psych). I wish I had looked into this surgery earlier... But "better late than never".
  4. You look GREAT! Definitely don't look your age!!! Congratulations!
  5. I think this one of my biggest worries too. Apparently, the longer you have carried the weight, the more likely you are to have loose skin. I have loose skin already and I haven't been sleeved yet! I can only imagine what it's going to be like after rapid weight loss! Stay hydrated, and start toning (weight lifting) as soon as we can!
  6. Yesterday was my consult and things went great! I had, proactively, scheduled my PCP surgery clearance, baseline labs, X-ray, EKG, upper Gi, and support group meeting... All to be done before July 16! At the office visit I was scheduled for the Nutritionist and Psychologist. The psych appt isn't until August! No BUENO! Lol, I think I can handle waiting a month. The Dr. Wasn't as bad at this visit as I heard he can be. He was actually pretty nice... We'll see what he's like further down the road. Well today is my Bday and I still get to indulge in alcohol so I'm heading to Margaritaville! Just wanted to write my update before I start drunk-texting!
  7. Inspiration!!! I don't think you were that big from the beginning! You look awesome nonetheless!
  8. Glad your okay. Just think about the progress you will make by the end of week 1.... It gets greater later!
  9. Hey all! Looks like my surgery will be in September also! I finish all my appts in July but I'm going on vaca end of August so I'll have to do the surgery in Sept. I'm anxious beyond belief!
  10. How come you didn't get past her!?
  11. You look GREAT!!!!!! Congrats!
  12. When you are on the home screen... "Add to diary" and scroll down a bit and one of the categories is "water"... It's just below the exercise categories.
  13. It IS a shame! But it'll just make my glory that much more glorious when I succeed!
  14. Hi Lisa, I too am treating with Dr. Onopchenko! I dont know what to expect yet since My consult isnt until the 20th of this month... Can you tell me more about the process you went through? What insurance do you have? How long did it take you to get a surgery date after your consult? What pre-op testing di he require and did you/will you have to do a pre-op diet? Im anxious and inquisitive !
  15. Agreed!! At the end of the day, no one dictates my future but me! And fortunately, his opinion has no validation in the outcome of my journey!
  16. Could be! And dont get me wrong, my family (especially my siblings and I) are thicker than thieves! There is no such thing as modesty, privacy or humility to us! We all share EVERYTHING! But sometimes we go a bit far with what we intend as a joke but dont give second thought about how deep it can be interpreted! Especially now that we're older and have our own lives and families. What we use to think was cool or fun, isnt anymore. People change! I dont think he has realized how much I've grown out of the jokes and horsing around! Im hoping he will change his mind afterward and realize how much I NEED this!
