  1. I'm 5 weeks post op as well and I'm in the same boat! I don't have any advice' date=' but I can certainly sympathize...

The nausea seems to be a little better when I drink some skim milk or eat some yogurt first thing in the morning, but that doesn't always work....

I hope you feel better soon! *hugs*[/quote']

    Thanks light lady!

  2. Ok everyone I am TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!!!! I had surgery July 1st and I had a drain put in' date=' my doctor just requires it.... And I have not been nervous about surgery or anything just totally freaked out about this drain, especially getting it removed! I have been in a lot of pain because of it and I am ready to get it out but I am sooooo scared of how bad the pain is going to be when they remove it tomorrow... I really don't know what to expect... Talk me down people!!! I wish I could do a 5th of Jack before removal ha ha..[/quote']

I had a drain and ugh it irritated me! But removing it was ummm odd lol! It did not hurt but it was pressure then a little muscle spasm. The relief of having the drain out outweighed any discomfort removing it.

  3. Try your best to at least get fluids in--or you will end up hospitalized too. I understand how upsetting and stressful it is to have your mother in the hospital' date=' but to be able to be there for her, you have to take care of you.

Carry a Water bottle, or grab a premade Protein drink and sip at it constantly. A dry mouth means you're at least moderately dehydrated--what color is your urine? The darker it is, the more dehydrated you are. Please take care of yourself before you land in a hospital bed too.[/quote']

Thanks Vixynne. I will be sipping more. I'm worried bc my urine is a funny dark yellow. My lips are dry and as we speak I'm sipping Water.< /p>

  4. Hello VST! I'm 3 wks post op. I've been doing well eating and losing weight but my Mom has recently been hospitalized. The stress is causing me not to eat. I didn't have an appetite to start with. I noticed yesterday that my mouth is so dry. I am not trying to become dehydrated. Everything I try to eat is potent...like the flavor is sooo intense also creating me to avoid food period. I know that It's not good that I'm not eating. For those that believe in the power of prayer please pray for both my Mom and I. Thank you!

  5. I keep telling my husband that I am not going to wake up from this surgery thin. I'm not even going to wake up thin a month from surgery. I think we all have to keep in mind that the sleeve is a tool - not a miracle

    I concur with Rox.

My Bariatric Doc reminded me yesterday at my follow up to not focus on quick weight loss. Two to three pounds a week. No calorie counting just lean Protein, veggies, fruit and Water. Walk 30 mins 3-4 times a week. It's a tool not the cure. It's a tool AND a lifestyle change period!
