    Band/Sleeve Conversion

The removal for me was not painful but more so a relief! I waited 10 wks from removal to be sleeved. The sleeve surgery wasn't as painful as the initial lapband surgery but getting sleeved just was sore no pain. The recovery from brig sleeved was much better than I thought it'd be.
  4. I got 2 wks off and need every bit if it to adjust to my new eating habits as well as physically healing.
  5. You look great congratulations!!!

    1 week check up!

Are you getting your fluids & Protein? I just began to not feel hungry bc the rest of the ghrelin (sp?) is continuing to get out of your system.
  7. I'm not that far out (13 days) but I can tell you that I noticed an increase in energy on Monday after taking my B12 nasal spray (nascobal) prescribed by my surgeon.
  8. This was me in Feb! Lets just say the surgeon that would've done one surgery (band removal & sleeve) I never consulted with because the wait had been 2hrs and I left frustrated. I'm glad I did because I went back to the surgeon that did my band. He does two separate surgeries because he said its way too much trauma on the stomach to do one flat out surgery. I was bummed but he told me the patients he band removed and sleeved had leakage to some extent. I am not trying to sway your decision but I did want to share my experience.
  9. The reason my Doc used a drain was because I had the lapband first. It slipped and was removed in April. Upon removal he said I had lots of inflammation which would turn into scar tissue. I waited 10 wks to be sleeved. He removed so much scar tissue and as a precautions he gave me a drain. He wanted to check the fluid to ensure no leaks and because of all the extra cutting of course I had more drainage. Hope my explanation makes sense. I had my drain a week and home health came to check the drainage color and clean it.

  14. The pre op diet helps a lot bc post op you'll know what to do. All Doc's have their protocols. Pre op diet or not we all must adhere to what we're told to get the results we desire.
