  1. I've always been a big girl... I was determined to get the sleeve a couple of years ago when I found out that I was eligible through my insurance. My husband and I have been together for 4 years. He's always been a jealous person due to his ex wife cheating on him with his best friend so I understood his insecurities... I got sleeved on May 30th and since I have been dropping weight, he's been VERY jealous over any little attention I get. I don't flaunt myself or flirt but I have been proud of myself and have bought myself new clothes that fit right and he has just flipped his lid. It has been such a struggle... Am I the only one dealing with a jealous or envious spouse?!? How can I show him I'm not going anywhere and that I'm the same ol me...

  2. Hey,

I'm almost at my 4 week post op but just now I was sleeping and all of a sudden I started coughing like I was choking, I then started dry heaving so I go to the bathroom to see if I needed to throw up and this NASTY tasting yellow mucous came up... After spitting it out, my chest started to burn like crazy and would get worse when I coughed. It felt like I had something in my lungs that I was trying to get out. Any idea as to what this is or has anyone else experienced that? Like I said, I was simply just sleeping... It's 3AM now and it's not like I just ate and went to lie down. Ugh. All of this bad stuff is making me regret the surgery :(

  3. Ok, I've been on other threads sharing my experiences and giving my confessions. I really wanna stick it now..

I just hit my 3 week mark. I was sleeved on 5/30.. Right at surgery I weighed 271... I'm at 255 right now and it's kinda sticking right there. It'll go down a couple of pounds then go right back to 255.

I'll admit again, I've been rushing. Externally I feel completely normal and I don't have any pain so I guess I'm trying to go back to the old ways. I've tried pizza by taking small bites and chewing til it's mush, I've tried taking a bite of a chicken sandwich, and so on.... All of which has led me to throwing up and praying to the porcelain gods...

I would have diarrhea and would spit up... It wouldn't be a whole throw up session, but more of spitting up slimy goo of food.

I need to get on track and focused. What types of food were you eating at week 3? Now, I'm a very picky eater... I don't do fish or anything seafood related and red meats are a no go for me.. I'm a chicken person all the way.. But if I can get recipes or food ideas, that would be great. Tell me what your food day would look like.

Also, I've never had heart burn or indigestion, but I'm having this gurgling in my chest, what did you take for that? I still use Carafate...

Also, spare me the lectures... I've had them already... Even got smacked in the back of the head by my mother haha.. :)

    Thanks everyone!

  4. I got sleeved on 5/30... I do my walking, the gas pain in my chest is hardly there now which is so nice because that was gonna be the death of me, now my problem is keeping food. Protein Drinks, chicken broth, Jello, pudding, yogurt.... I take in a little bit and about an hour or 2 later I'm ready to pray to the porcelain gods. What gives?! I tried small bites of actual food thinking it would help (had a stupid moment) because that obviously didn't work. I'm just kinda lost because I know I'm missing out on my Protein and nutrients... Did anyone have this problem? Also, I've never had heartburn or indigestion so I'm not sure if this is it but I feel this gurgling ugliness in my chest area...

  5. I am going into week 2 and I'm still having this pain in my chest every time I stand or am talking or even drinking.. It tightens up real hard for a couple of seconds and then stops... I swear it feels like a heart attack... It's not my stomach either... It's my chest...(above my boobs)... I am running out of options. I walk... I sip... I take my gas meds... Help!!

  6. I just had the sleeve done on the 30th in Houston. My weight before surgery was 275 lbs. which was the highest it's ever been. I knew I had to do something coming from a family history of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and so on. Luckily, being that over weight I didn't have any issues... Yet.

Well this past week I went in for my surgery at 271 lbs. I was so nervous. I had my mom, dad, 4 year old daughter, and fiancé there. :)

I stayed in the hospital for one night which was one tough night. I am much a belly sleeper and could not get comfortable on those hospital beds whatsoever. The pain was ok and the nurses were great.

Going for my one week post op I weighed in at 257 lbs. THAT ITSELF WAS AMAZING TO ME! Granted... I hadn't really ate or drank much.. But still... Seeing that number drop was a good feeling.

My ONLY problem I've been having so far is my chest... Whenever I take a sip of something, it hurts... I'm thinking its gas build up... I feel like if I just give one good burp then I'll be ok but I just can't do it!! So it sits there and hurts... Is there anything I can do to fix this?
