A lot of the amount of weeks depends on how heavy you are. The smaller the liver the better off you are

Three weeks out and not losing weight!
krtrebie replied to EggWithLegs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stall and lose all the time and it is very normal. Sometimes it last for 3 weeks, sometimes just one. It's always different. But even though I'm stalling, I still lose inches. -
Nice goal! You can do it! The 45 will come off in no time at all. I have 9 pounds till goal from my doctor and 16 from my own personal goal

I lost a lot of hair around the third, fourth and fifth month. It's now starting to stop/slow down. The doctor said that it was normal

My surgeon said no carbonation because it will stretch your sleeve out. He said there will be other surgeons out there saying it will not stretch it out, but don't listen to them. My cousin had the by-pass and the one thing she regrets is starting to drink pop. She said it messed with her new stomach. I did try a little sip of a pop, after surgery and I thought it tasted horrible and the fizz and carbonation burned my mouth.

Found a protein bar at Walmart that depending on what flavor you get has between 19-21 grams of protein. It's called life choice, high protein bar. The nutritionist at the surgeons office was impressed with how good it actually was. Took one of my bars to share with others.

krtrebie replied to Chris_R's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My stomach makes noises and I burp and I also feel full. But when I'm close to full my stomach gurgles and makes noises, so I know I'm nearing the end of being able to eat -
I had 2 weeks before surgery and then 4 weeks post! It sucked ass. I cried and was angry and very depressed!

Spicy meatballs are what I usually bring. A bag of Turkey or beef Italian meatballs( you can use any kind of meatballs you want) I usually by the precooked ones all I have to do is heat them. 2 cans of cream of mushroom Soup a jar of sliced jalapeños. Put the meatballs in the crockpot add both cans of the cream of mushroom soup and then add the jar of jalapeños. Turn on the crockpot and cook them till the meatballs are hot.

What I learned at my appointment on Friday is that I'm above average with losing 60% of my excess body fat, my BMI went from a 42 to 30.7 and I have lost 80 pounds. I just hope I can keep up the great work and lose 100% of my excess body fat!

Diarrhea vs Dumping Syndrome
krtrebie replied to jjames7118's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does your Protein have sugar in it? If it has sugar in it and then you mix it with your milk that has sugar your body might be getting to much sugar. I started having issues with my Protein drinks after surgery with gaging on them and throwing them up and getting horrible stomach aches, but I was fine with milk on their own. I'm currently dealing with constipation and it's a pain in the butt. I had dumping syndrome once from too much sugar and it sounds exactly what you are describing, I never once heard that having dumping syndrome gives you a fever. So what I'm trying to say is that you could be having a form of dumping syndrome -
This is really gross /sorry

It's from being constipated. It happens to me more than I hope for. My doctor's nurse told me to start with Milk of Magnesium(mom) at night when I feel backed up and if that doesn't work take a stool softener every night before bed. MOM didn't work the greatest for my, but the softener did. -

At my clinic you have to go the informational meeting and then you have to choose your doctor. I chose the surgeon my mom had. There are two at my clinic, my aunt had the other one. Heard great things about both of them, however I went with the surgeon that had more experience. He was one the first surgeons to perform the surgery and the other one learned and trained under him. I was on a two week liquid diet before hand and had to in to the hospital to start a heparin drip to thin my blood since I have a history of blood clots and possible might have factor 5 that causes blood clots. Then after surgery I was on a liquid diet for another 4 weeks.

Random question for you ladies. Did you have to have surgery with the doctor you did the consult with or were you able to go with another doctor?

This has nothing to do with what you are asking, but if you have a complete nutrition by where you live you can try the Protein powders before you buy them. It saved me tons of money.

Dating just plain sucks. Online dating was an epic fail for me. Most guys I meet are tools and I work with preschool kids all day. I don't meet many people my age that way. So, for the time being I'm doing my own thing and if something comes a long I will take the chance then.
