  1. I also was sleeved on the 11th and i can't do the protein shakes they make me sick to my stomach. I did however try the Special K protein drinks and can tolerate them better the down side is they only have 10 grams of protein in them.
  2. I did the same thing 6 days post op. I called my dr and he told me to take a teaspoon of pepto. Good luck hope you feel better soon.
  3. Brandy, My father inlaw use to pick on me to the point I didn't even want to eat or do holidays with them. Then when I told my inlaws my choice for weight loss surgery all i heard was that's just a waste of money it's not gonna work you just need to push your self away from the table. It got to the point I didn't want to go over there at all. A week before the surgery he even asked my husband why he wanted to waste money like that on a surgery that isn't going to work. I am 9 days post op and I have not seen them since 2 weeks before my surgery. I am down 26 pounds I didn't let him and his crude rude comments get the best of me. Hold your head up and anytime you are feeling down come to the forum we are here for one another
  4. I have BCBS tx mine was $3400 to the hospital don't know what I will owe the dr. Then they said I will owe the anesthesiologist. I'm not complaining though cause i can't put a price on good health. No regrets so far!
  5. I have BCBS tx it only took a week for them to approve the surgery but all together it took me four months from first appointment to the OR.
  6. I was sleeved on the 11. I'm still not hungry or thirsty. My dr told me to set a timer for every 15 mins or so to remember to sip. I have yet to get in the 60 oz they suggested. Good luck too you keep us posted on your progress.
  7. I went in at 5:30 a.m for surgery at 7:00. I remember moving to the surgery table and I remember the nurse asking me was I ready then seconds later (it seemed) i woke up in my private room and looked at the clock and it said 10:33. I don't remember being in recovery but my husband said I was in there for awhile.
  8. Wow I'm shocked!! What is there to be curious about? Im sure you already know what pizza, wine etc... taste like cause that's probably what got you to the operating room in the first place. I was sleeved on June 11th and I'm just now on 2oz of liquid. My Dr was very firm with me about not moving to fast or I would end up with a leak that could be fatal. That alone was enough to make me follow instructions. I don't think anyone is trying to be harsh but instead looking out for our fellow sleeve friends. The fact your Dr told you these things is a bit on the scary side IMO. I know you said you are pleased with your results but just think what they may have been if you had not tried all those calorie and fat containing things. I am 8 days post op and have lost 24 pounds already. Good luck in the future and I pray you find the strength to fight these curosities.
  9. I was sleeved on the 11 th I completely feel you. There are so many things I would love to eat. I see things on TV that I would never eat in a million years that just look so tasty to me. But when I start to think those thoughts I grab a Popsicle or make a sugar free sno cone and read a book or something to take my mind off the food cause as we all know its not cause we are hungry. Good luck it will get better.
  10. Was sleeved on June 11 and I'm down 16 pounds.
  11. Was sleeved Tuesday the 11th and went home Thursday. I did have alot of pain around the drain tube area but it immediately went away when they removed the tube.
  12. I was sleeved the 11th I do good to get a ounce in every hour.
  13. I have to be at the hospital in a hour for my sleeve. I couldn't sleep because I'm excited and nervous. Thankfully I am the first case this morning
  14. That is amazing congrats!!! Did you have a lot of loose skin and if so what did you do about it?
  15. I'm being sleeved June11. Started my pre-op diet today. Getting excited for surgery but dreading this week of nasty food.
  16. That's awesome good luck to you. Please let us know how your doing. I'm ready but nervous too.
  17. I am being sleeved June 11. I start my pre-op food tomorrow, well actually today now. Im getting really nervous as the time gets closer. I had the EGD done a couple of weeks ago and he found a hernia that he will also repair. Anyone with encouraging words would be greatly appreciated about now. Lol
