  1. Hi' date=' I'm 3 months out and actually there isn't anything on the approved list the NUT gave me that I can't eat. I can eat steak, chicken, roast pork, turkey and seafood, fish. I don't eat many carbs because they are not on the approved diet list I was given, I can eat all veggies and fruit, even salad.[/quote']

That's great!! I'm eating Protein and veggies hoping to get a quicker weight loss. Not really working! Faxing my menu to my dr tomorrow to see if they have some suggestions.

  2. Hi! I'm also 8 weeks out and have noticed that meat does not sit well with my tummy either. No matter how small the piece' date=' how much sauce is on it or how many times I chew it goes down like a brick and just sits there. So uncomfortable![/quote']

I've heard that may change later on. I'm not really worried about it. chicken is basically the only meat I've eaten for many years. (or Hamburger in a casserole. )

  3. I hope it helps. Pain is such a nasty thing to have to deal with. People who are not on pain don't understand. I've been in pain every day since I was 11 (1962 ). I was run over by a dump truck. Since then I've been in a head-on collision and rear ended by a semi. You could say my body is a reck. I take three different pain MEDS and hope the weight loss will help get me off some of those. I think that's why I get so frustrated when it comes off so slow!! I like want it gone by morning!!

  4. Im 8 weeks out. I have fibromyalia, ostioarthritis , sleep apnea, high blood pressure... I don't take the Mobic because of possibly damage to my tummy and seem to be doing well, however , i havent started teaching my 4 year olds yet! I have been able to drop one of my blood pressure MEDS because it was too low. I'm hoping to get rid of the cpap and take less cymbolta for the fibro. It's always a balancing act.

  5. Do you have a plan for how you are going to handle it Sheila?

I've been thinking about it for the last couple weeks. I'm asking my dr to send a note of explanation. I teach Head Start and I'm suppose to eat what the kids eat. I have been following my school s schedule the past week. Ill start the day off with 17 gms Protein drink and use it to take my MEDS. Then ill make Breakfast and let it cool while i get dressed. ill mix up another Protein Drink (23 gm) to sip on at Breakfast at school and in between activities...keeping the bottle on my desk. The kids eat lunch early so I will take the rest of that pd with me. While they nap I can eat my own lunch. Then ill make another pd (23 gm) and sip on it during their snack time. And then they go home and I can do whatever I need to do. I'm hoping this works.

  6. Cheri, thank you for your ranting! It is so true! I have to keep reminding myself that this is a lifetime choice and not be in such a hurry to lose the weight. Although I've only lost 27 total, (have about 50 more to go) I've gone down 2sizes in clothes. My new school clothes I bought last Spring are very baggy and I'm wearing them this Fall anyway. My badge of courage ! Thank you for your encouraging words. I've read other posts from you and you are my hero!!

  7. Hi all' date='

I'm Sherry from WV, I'm 50 and was sleeved July 17th. My highest weight was 333 and I am now at 294. My biggest problem has been my emotions. I thought I was well prepared for surgery but my emotional response to it floored me. I know I needed to take drastic measures, I could tell that my mobility was decreasing, I have sleep apnea and hypertension. I wanted to be more active with my grandkids, etc. about a week or so after surgery I started to have theses horrible night sweats, would wake up in a total panic. Thoughts going through my head like I had ruined my life etc. thankfully the sweats have stopped and I am mainly having some anxiety now, worrying about making my everyday life work around the sleeve. Stuff like, if this happens will I still be able to get my Water and Protein in. Did anyone else feel this way? I'm struggling with Water anyway so maybe that makes it worse. I tell myself that I hope as the days and weeks go by that it will get better.[/quote']

I'm in the same boat. Sleeved 8 weeks ago and have had no trouble getting Protein in. But I go back to work tomorrow. I can't constantly drink and teach 4 year olds!

  8. Hi Sherry....Yes' date=' your feelings are completely normal..It is an emotional journey as well..I had lots of emotions the first month after surgery as well...By the second month I started to feel better emotionally and have felt great ever since..It is a roller coster of emotions though, so hang in there..[/sup']

I'm in the same situation as you. I'm 8 weeks out and am a teacher. I've had no problem getting the Protein and Water in. But tomorrow I go back to work. The 26th the kids come back. But I can't be constantly drinking and teach 4 year olds!

  9. I'm sorry you are having trouble with the Protein. That's probably why you feel so bad! You need the protein!! Have you tried different kinds...soy based, whey based, fruit flavored, chocolate, vanilla...you may want to try to Water it down for a while so the flavor isn't so strong. Try to find some samples so you have more variety. And please talk to your dr. He may have other ideas for you. Good luck and never give up!
