Thank you for taking over!! I have been out of town so I didn't get the last post in but I stayed the same at 179. I would love to do this one as well! First weigh in for July 7th and 14th is 179. CW 179 Goal 174 This might be cautious but I have really slowed down. I am hoping to beat it but it is just so slow now. Thank you!!!

Labs 3 years out
You may be a nurse but you are human and irregardless of being a nurse we all mess up to some extent even when we know better. I for one am grateful that you posted your dilemma as it will serve a purpose in my life to always take my vitamin supplements for life. I am sure at some point I would have become weary of it and slacked. I now know that I must remain diligent. Thank you for that!! Keep us posted!

Triple Play
I didn't have a hernia and my gallbladder was taken out prior to my sleeve being done. I can say that the recovery from the gallbladder surgery was very very easy. I was thinking about my sleeve surgery the other day and I had wished that I could have done both at the same time. If you are self pay it might help with some of the cost.........just a thought. Best of luck to you!!

Protein Drinks ...postoperative favorites
Premiere Protein drinks for me. They have the best flavor and texture by far IMHO.

Need help with what to tell work.
I didn't tell my boss or co-workers anything for several months afterwards. However, I had the summer off to recover and come back to work. If you are struggling with being a co-worker and friend as it sounds like you are then my guess is you will be more uncomfortable with the secret than actually telling her. I truly understand your struggle and I hate keeping something from someone close to me. This is a sensitive surgery with many opinions. Look closely at your relationship and how she would handle it. If you think she would be supportive than talk with her it will probably only bring you closer and you will have a friend for support. On top of that you will be relieved of feeling dishonest even though you aren't because it is no one's business but your own. This is your journey and I hope you find the answer that will allow you to enjoy the process. Best of luck to you!

Premier Protein Shakes-only 1/3 protein absorbed?
All I can say is my doctor said they were not a problem and I have been using them for over a year now and have done great with them. I do appreciate the information but I will stick with them because they have proven successful for me. Best of luck to you!

I hate this site :(
It would be ashamed to lose support and ideas to help you through this process. As far as doctor's go you should only listen to your doctor and only your doctor. They all have different opinions but you chose yours for a reason and you should follow his/her advice. This site can help you in so many different ways and not all advice or opinions will suit you. This is with everything you do, say or hear in life. I simply skip past what I don't agree with however I have learned and picked up a lot of good info, recipes, advice etc. I truly wish you the very best in your journey and hope you don't leave this behind.

Calcium and Iron suppliments
The calcium inhibits the Iron absorption. You shouldn't take the iron within 3 hours of the calcium in order to allow for complete absorption. Hope this helps!

I have really fallen off the wagon...help!
Hang in there!! You just had a major loss in your life!! My mother passed away a year ago and I gained 10 pounds on top of what I already weighed which prompted me to do the surgery. I had thought about it for several years and finally came to the conclusion that I couldn't do this on my own. LIfe is always going to throw crap at us and we have to bounce back once we have landed from the devastation. You are reaching out and that is the first step to taking care of yourself. I would suggest that you do at least a week of the liquid diet again just to withdraw from the carb monster if that is a problem. It is hard to do but it will release you from the addiction. Once you begin seeing a loss again you will begin to feel stronger and more in charge. Most of us never felt in charge of our weight before the surgery. Remember your tool is still there and ready to help you. Stay on the forum for support!! It has always helped me when I felt weak. If you haven't tried Premier Protein shakes I suggest you give them a try. They really are good and you can get them at Sam's and Costo. You can also try to kick start the loss with the 5:2 diet. If you search it on the forum you will find info on it as well as google it. I truly wish you the very best and I am sending you a hug!!!

Hate to brag, but I'm so advanced ;)
Make sure you are getting all of your Protein in that is the major key to the hair loss. I also started using Revita about 3 months post op. It doesn't stop hair loss but it causes your hair follicles to grow hair quicker and begin growth in places that no longer would grow back. I figured if I was going to lose hair I might as well get it started growing back quicker. It worked great for me! You can order it on Amazon with the conditioner for about 35.00. Best of luck to you!
