  2. Congratulations!! I hope you continue to have a great recovery!!
  3. I went to Dr. Shillingford in Boca Raton, Florida and paid $10,500 and that is all inclusive with 2 day stay in the hospital. Includes all test etc. Wonderful surgeon. Good luck finding the right surgeon for yourself.
  4. If you want a glass of wine that is fine just make sure you account for the calories and carbs just like anything else you eat. I too enjoy a glass every know and then. If you have a carb counting book alcohol might be listed and it is interesting which ones are higher than others.
  5. That's awesome!! You are right on my heals and you will be there before you know it!! What state do you live in?
  6. Congratualtions with your surgery! I am glad you like Florida but I would love to see Grand Cayman! Best of luck with your sleeve!!
  7. Hang in there! Did you take your measurements? You might be losing inches even though the scale isn't doing anything. If you haven't done this do it now so you can start tracking this. Good luck!
  8. No worries!! You have some healing to do. Good weeks yes, last week I lost 5 pounds, Bad weeks this week I lost 1 pound (still a loss though ) Then you will have stalls. Make sure you take your measurements if you haven't done so. When the scale isn't moving you will find that you are going down in inches. This is still your body losing and it will eventually reflect on the scale. Congrats on your surgery!
  9. Only 1 pound this week. but at least it's a loss. 239 Out of the 40's!!!
  10. Rocsi you had every right to post this and I found absolutely nothing offensive about it. If I went through this you bet I would have posted it. Something like that is very upsetting and this forum is exactly what this is for. I am sorry you went through this and I am sure some of your feelings right now are due to this. Please continue to post your journey with us. We will be there to uplift you and answer anything we can.
  11. I put up pictures last night with the thread title Update to Beachlover Grandbaby!Thank You Everyone! He is absolutely adorable! I tried to post one with this reply but it won't let me.
  12. I think the length of time is a case by case thing. I have been on acide reducers forever and probably will be.
  13. I think the length of time is a case by case thing. I have been on acid reducers forever and probably will be.
  14. Are you taking an acid reducer? If not, that is why you are always hungry. The acid in your stomach makes you feel like you are hungry but that is not what it is. Talk to your doctor but a lot of us take an acid reducer to help this. One day I was constantly hungry to the point of driving me crazy and I ate to help but it never helped. Then I realized I hadn't taken my medicine, I took it and within 15 minutes the hunger feeling was gone and I felt total relief.
  15. The liquid diet is what you do to get the fat out of the liver before surgery. It shrinks the liver so the surgery can be optimal.
  16. I love me some spicy food! I have eaten is as soon as I was eating mushy food which was like 2-3 weeks out with no problems.
  17. I love the name and I can't wait to hold him again!
  18. I want to thank all you for the wonderful support and comments last night while I was anxiously awaiting his arrival. His name is Lucas John and was born at 10:33 this morning and is 8lbs and 21 inches long. I believe he is quite beautiful and perfect in every way! Spoken like a grandma! :) This right here is one of the reasons I wanted to get the sleeve.......To play with my grandchildren!!
  19. This link was very interesting and I learned a few things. I have magnesium supplements at home. I have had the eye twitching lately so I am starting them back up. Thanks for this post!
  20. I am going on Tuesday to get mine done. I'd rather have hair that is not gray the thin hair that is losing it's color. Just my opinion of myself.
  21. I would imagine no 2 days are every the same in the L&D! You are right though you never really know how long it will take! We actually had a pool between both families to see when the baby would be born and how big. Hope I win I need some new clothes!
  22. Well you get a double congratulations then!! I have no doubt you are anxious to see that little one and have your surgery! Just think of how much fun you are going to have with that new grandchild and what you will be able to do with your new healthy self!
  23. They haven't checked her again yet but I agree the epidural will relax her body. She called me earlier in the evening laughing so hard because her Water broke and just flooded the floor! Typical movie style! Then the pains began!! On Friday she was almost 3 centimeters and 75-80% effaced. So I am hoping by like 3:00 a.m. we will have a baby. Thank you so much for the support and knowledge I really appreciate it!
