I just went through a sleep study in March'07. Pretty strange sleeping with all those wires glued to my head! Was diagnosed with interrupted sleep... not apnea, thank God. The interrupted sleep was probably because I was working Midnight shift at the time. I no longer work that

One of my full signals I get from my body is a very small hiccup. If I am not paying attention I will miss it. It is not a violent thing, however, I have had those very briefly while hung up on something. I have not had the PB thing happen and hopefully never will. I try to chew like a fiend and most of the time i get things down pretty well.

Wow... Another Texan here! I was banded in Waco by Dr. Sims. Maybe we could get a map going or something visual to indicate where the men's room is across our great land.

I think we are keeping the same thread running through the challenge. (not start a new thread each week) -
see post 10 in this thread for explanation on how to resize photos.

I just downloaded the Windows XP power toys image resizing utility. It embeds itself into XP and all you have to do is right click on any image file and one of the options on the flyout menu is Resize Image. It gives you the options of small, medium, and large format as well as a format for making things like Avatars out of any image. That is a good thing to have for all of us forum junkies! Here is the link to the microsoft site for the download. Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP Download from the Right sidebar.

Hey... I am checkin' in, but it looks like it is too late. Good job on your progress. Isn't it AMAZING what our bodies are doing. Consuming all this fat hanging on to us! I posted these pics in the B&A thread but I will post again here. Today is my 4 month mark and I will try to get some other pics taken today and get them up to commemorate the 1/3yr. point Black shirt is just this month. All dressed up for family portraits. (and then a date!) White shirt is spring '07 about 375 or so... The little tigger picture is this past Halloween. I was right at 400 at Halloween. My wife just made a good point. She said "so, you were 400 at Halloween and 328 by Easter!" That kinda puts it into a different perspective.

I did not change any:confused2:. I still feel pretty tight, I have loosened up a little bit this week but I still feel pretty snug. I explained to my Surgeon this week at my fill appt. and he thought it would be best to play it safe and not fill any this time. He said it may change in the next two weeks and thats ok... We are getting pretty close to the sweet-spot, he said. YIPPY!!!!! He did tell me that in 3 1/2 months I have lost 25% of my excess weight. He said most of his "good" patients take a year to hit 50% and that he is very proud of my progress. That made me happy to hear. -
What level are all the Nov 07 bandsters at?
TxArcher replied to AndreaL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at 7.5cc in a APL 14cc capacity band. I have been REAL TIGHT since my 5th??? fill a week 1/2 ago. I lost 8 pounds in that week! At my lapband support group thursday evening, the nurses were concerned that I was too tight until one of them asked if I was able to eat meat. When I said yes I could, their tune changed and they were all extatic about my weight loss. One of them, the program administrator, has had the band... she was super happy. -

Thank you! It sure feels good to be able to be "present" for my son and wrestle and play. And then there is the fact that I can actually get around and do things! I love my motility now. (no this is not a power chair commercial) LOL. I just go and do! I can not believe how much better I feel. My wife is just amazed at how fast I am losing weight... she likes the new me I am turning in to. I am now lighter now than I have been in the 8 plus years we have been married! What I am going to like is the point when I drop below 275. That is what I was when I met "Love". I showed her a picture of me in 9th grade. It was a candid full profile (head to toe) and I was 210 then. That is my ultimate goal. It may take a while to get there from 400, but it is just coming off one day at a time. I can't worry about tomorrow and I can't beat myself up for decisions I made yesterday. I look forward to weigh in every Wednesday and the ladies at the bariatric center are just amazed at my progress. One of them had the band placed this past summer and she is just blown away at how fast it is coming off me. Well, I have to study for a BIG test tomorrow. -

Nov. Nymphs "Spring into Weight Loss" Challenge FINAL WEIGHT
TxArcher replied to Momto1plus1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well... I missed my goal by three pounds! Darn! I am stoked about losing the 17 pounds since Valentines day!!! I just got REAL tight from my fill last week. I think the weight will come off MUCH easier now. I am trying to stay busy, busy, busy; eat right, and not try to bore everybody I know by over-talking how much weight I have lost! Anyway, I am ready to hit the next challenge!!! going there now to sign up  Name...................Start..........Current..........Goal ......To Go Momto1plus1.........228.8............223.0 ............218 .8.......4.2 Osangriared...........262...............252...............250......... ..2 Hollyberries............278...............267...............268....... ....(-1) Skinny_Jill..............186...............180...............178...... ......2 Sades...................201...............197...............190....... .....7 shortgal.................189...............183...............182...... ......1 TxArcher................345...............328...............325............3 -

At the gym, setting up for the 3D archery tourney today, then shooting the tourney today... I may not make it down 9 pounds in a week, but I am still happy with my loss. I had a fill on Wednesday... oooh. WOW! I am still VERY TIGHT!!! I have a sliming experience almost every time I eat something that is not Soup. I may just make my goal anyway! Who knows... -
Well, let me update. When I started this thread, I was not quite at the elephant's penis yet but I could not resist... whats a few pounds when your talking about penises!! I have now surpassed the elephant's penis and am up to 66 pounds, that equals the fats and oils the average American eats each year. Which is ironic because I was just talking to some co-workers and said I would hate to see what 66 pounds of fat would look like all in one bunch! Anyway... what have you lost?
-
I will second what Cindy has just stated! Cindy and I have kinda been band bro. and sister. (even had a lil sibling rivalry there for a while) It has been rough sometimes when the job is really kicking my patooty, but I still try to get on here and keep in the loop. It really helps out a lot. My bariatric center also has a monthly lap band support group. It is awesome! I always leave there so motivated. I would encourage you to get plugged in somewhere that you can talk to people face to face that have been where you are. It really isn't like the proverbial "support group", ours is a lot of fun. Best of luck... and if there is EVER anything I can do, PLEASE don't be afraid to shoot me a PM and I will see what I can do to help out. Even if it is just for a ranting session! Lord knows we have all been there!

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
TxArcher replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ok... Here I am just about 3 1/2 months post op. In the picture of me sitting down on the coffee table, I was just at 400 pounds and that was of course, Halloween '07. In the standing picture (can anybody guess what I am carrying? You get 100 bonus points if you know!!!) That would have been about this time last year '07. I would have been about 385 or so... Then there is the black shirt picture. We had some family photos taken yesterday afternoon and we all got "dolled up" to take the portraits. I felt very... ehem... GQ!!! It was a good day! Yesterday evening while DW was putting the children down to sleep, I went to the store and got some snacky foods. Vegetable crackers, summer sausage, Fancy Shmancy cheese, grapes, and a bottle of Chardonnay... When I was there, I felt like some kind of preppy guy all fancied up and buying cheese, grapes and wine! LOL Enough rambling! Here are some photos. -

Nov. Nymphs "Spring into Weight Loss" Challenge Week #3
TxArcher replied to Momto1plus1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, no change for me this week. I did get another fill. I am not sure how close to SS I am. This is my fourth fill for a total of 6.5cc in the 14cc band. I did just start to exercise, and they said that it is normal to not lose weight just after you upped your activity level... Well I have 17 pounds and 3 weeks to get there! I may have been a bit over ambitious with this goal... I will just keep pluggin away at the treadmill and hope that this fill really helps me out!
