    What's A Girl To Do???

Hello everyone!! It has been a while since I have been here, but it's good to be back. I have been banded for 2 years and 3 months. I originally lost 110 lbs. I became Pregnant in April of '06 and I have a beautiful 3 1/2 month old daughter. Well during my pregnancy, I had almost all of my fill removed(I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!), and I gained 60 lbs during my pregnancy. I have lost 25 lbs, but I have been at a stand still for the last month. I don't know what to do. I lost my weight pretty quickly the first time around, but now I can't seem to get going. My band is filled pretty tight, but the weight just isn't coming off...I really need to get this weight off!! Does anyone have any experience with having a baby and not being able to lose the weight. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

    What's A Girl To Do???

I can't seem to get any breakfast down at all. I usually just drink a little juice and take my vitamins. I have soup or a small salad for lunch, and dinner is usually chicken or fish with salad. I snack a little in between some days, but mostly nothing. I have been walking every other day for the last 2 months, and I started Taebo 2 weeks ago. I think I may not be eating enough.
  4. Dr. Maese's office also takes Medicaid. His # is 214-234-0330. His office is in Dallas, and he also has one in Ennis Texas. Hopes this helps.

    Help needed - taking meds

Try grapefruit juice. I have never been able to swallow pills, and antibiotics taste horrible. But I crushed them and put them into some grapefruit juice and it completely cuts the taste. Hope this helps.

    How do I know

Do you have a 4cc band or a 14cc band. I have never heard of one that holds that much....just wondering. If if only holds 4 ccs, you should feel good restriction once you start eating more solid foods.

    Liquids after Fill??

Yeah, that's pretty much the norm... My doctor suggest 2 days Clear Liquids, 2 days full liquids, 2 days of soft foods, and then resume normal diet.

    I need your opinion

Hi Nickie, I have a 9.75 band as well. It acutally holds 5 cc's. I have over 3 cc's in my band and have pretty good restriction. I am able to eat anything I want. I have not had any problems with any type of food. It is possible that you won't either. But if you feel you don't have enough then I would say have them add some more. Hope this helps.

    Finding A Doctor in Texas

Try Dr. James Davidson at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He did my surgery in Feb, and has a great staff. I am not sure if he takes Medicare, but it is worth a shot. His web site is www.bscdallas.com and their # is 214-696-2890. Hope this helps.

    GallBladder removal-easier than band?

Hello, I had my galbladder removed 1 month after my lapband. It was pretty easy. I was in the hospital one day. I was up on my feet when I went home. They just did a couple of small incisions and they healed very quick. I hope all goes well for you!
