    Losing weight pre-op

Hello angry. I feel u totally!! I too feel like eating, not binging, but eating as I've always done up until my 2 week preop diet. But, my doc, after weighing me our first visit, both he nd his nurse said, from now on u can't gain anymore weight, why? Uk, I've been maintaining this weight for a while now, dropping her or there, but now since they've said that, I'm paranoid about gaining b4 my surgery and I don't have a frekn date yet!!! It makes me so angry, I'm gonna ask them about that my next visit! I'm glad I'm not the only one but I do agree that u shud stop drinking cuz that's prob harder to stop just cold turkey, smoking as well. I don't mind the two week thing so much, yet, lol, but to say no more weight gain and not have a date or finish the visits, what is his point? hmph!!

the guilt is eating me alive

I posted the first time u told us ur story, nd it still saddens me that ur still blaming urself for her decision. As one posted, she wudve left eventually bc love: 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13. Please read this verse now, nd if this is NOT what she offered to you, then PLEASE, find a way to heal. God has told us how to love nd whom to love and if its not balanced, no matter how many years uve been together, u will not last bc its not possible. You can only be who u r, nd expect the same from the one u choose to love nd be loved by. You can NOT force som1 to Love u the way u love them but u can CHOOSE to find the one whose willing to give it their all. You sound like a giver, one who gave most in the relationship, so tell me Long, y not start giving to urself? Giving urself time to heal, time to grieve, time to live a healthy life, time to love who u r nd what u have to offer. Y give her the power over your circumstance, y give her ur tears, y give her the satisfaction of hurting you nd not apologizing for it, why? Please read that verse and forgive urself for not giving to urself. It's ok to be sad but take that feeling and go to the gym, do somthn healthy, take some kickboxing, just use it to re energize urself. You can not change the fact that u had this surgery, you can change HOW U LET THIS CHALLENGE manage you! U had part of ur body removed to make a better you and it wasn't ur HEART, its still there and beating nd waiting for u to let it heal and move on to what God has in this life for you...the best, nd trust me, she's out there. But give God the glory nd pray that He'll help heal you from this, He will, nd I'll pray for you as well. Dee Dee P.s. just curious, were u always overweight in the tens yrs w her? If so, perhaps u spent that ten years thinking how some1 cud b w u at that size nd perhaps she made u feel like she was doing u a favor being w u. That being Said, if that's the case, it stands to reason y u feel so guilty about the surgery nd blaming urself for her meanness. It's like emotional abuse, nd it takes time to heal. A person n an abusive relationship, altho knowing its wrong, has a hard time thinking they are worthy of greater love bc the abuser suppressed them so much. So now u have to learn to rethink that u are worthy, whether big or smaller, you are worthy. Don't b afraid to let the new you shine on the outside too, ull be surprised at how happy ull b. Again, get some prof help to help u peel it bck, and get to the root like another said. you can do this.

    Why you chose the sleeve

My PCM sent me to the seminar with my thought of getting the lapband done. Whenever I call to make my appointment for the seminar the nurse there asked me have I ever considered the sleeve gastrectomy, I asked did tricare pay for that bc ive not heard of it. She said yes but just to do some research on it before coming to the seminar which would be one month later. So on that same day I started researching everything looking for every forum reading every post! By the time I made it to the seminar 30 days later I knew that I wanted the sleeve. I had over 30 questions prewritten for the surgeon, nut nd psychologist. The surgeon talked about all 3 nd gave stats from their surgical experience as well as other stats. We had mostly sleevers, 2 bands nd 2 who were told that gbs was their hope bc of bmis over 50 or 60, so b4 it was over, one of the band people left, nd the other chose sleeve nd the gbs stayed the same and we had over 20 people or so. It is an individual choice but do ur hw, don't let ur mind be changed by anything other than YOUR OWN research and prayers. But like I said, take heed to what people who've had lapband revision and know y they had it bc I doubt anyone wud just change from lapband to vgs unless it was medically necessary. Nd one more 2 cent, it is a foreign object in ur body, which will try nd reject it at whatever costs, not to mention always having to be stuck in the belly to refill or maintain the band. I'm glad that my research helped me make the decision to be sleeved. Can't wait for my date. God bless nd gl w ur choice:) . Sorry, p.s. I didn't want gbs bc I love sweets, which they say u can nvr ever have wo dumping it, nd I don't want my insides rerouted. I just need help, which I feel the vgs tool will provide for me. If it was all about just losing weight so fast, id have gbs, not sayn that that's why people do it. What I mean is, w vgs, I feel w the rate of weight loss, I'll learn how to help myself make better choices for the rest of my life. , Dee Dee

    New here

Imo as well, I agree w the poster who Said, if u can't postpone the vaca, then postpone the surgery. Uve come to far to let a travel plan get in the way of ur healing nd ur life (clots or unforeseen circumstances). If ur hubby is not on board w u having it, then its going to be a mess when u guys travel, esp w twins. Idk their ages but I traveled from va to al driving, nd my girls are 16 nd 8 and it was a mess, bc its a long drive and in a car, everyones restless. We made stops only when necessary and in ur case, as they've stated, ur not gonna feel like twin drama, driving drama, trying to eat drink nd be merry on ur trip, bc ull need support for when u have to stop or stretch or whatever, it just seems like if he don't want u doing it, he'd get po'd having to tend to ur needs on the trip nd the kids. Idk, its ultimately ur choice Nd I pray for u all the way, but really think about the entire problems a trip causes when ur healthy. Can't imagine riding that long a trip right after major surgery! I've not had that surgery yet, still hoop jumpn but I've read so much from my fellow posters who have had it. Pray about it sweetheart nd make sure that a vaca so soon after is a good idea, esp since u nd ur hubby are at odds about it. God bless whatever choice u make:))) Dee Dee

    whats with the animosity?

No, unfortunately, its a now facebook thing too bc people are more nd more childish nd mean bc they can hide behind fb nd other social media's... That includes some " adults".

    whats with the animosity?

  15. Hi, sry for ur discomfort! Have you been to a doc who'll do an ultrasound or some scan of ur abdomen? I mean, being this long, it really would be in ur best Interest to find out once nd for all what's going on, it cud be scarring, rupture, a staple loose nd poking you, idk, but really, go. There's no point in having a surgical procedure to help you and u can't enjoy it! Let us know. Many prayers for u as well. Dee Dee

    Does any1 feel like ...

Thank you all sooo much from the bottom of my heart!! I too dont think of the sleeve as a diet either:). But again ive read about so many postops doing that 5:2 diet plan nd it made me rethink my decision bc I refuse to diet again after I'm sleeved. So tyall again for putting my mind at ease about my decision. And I look forward to being on the losers bench w u all!!

    Does any1 feel like ...

Hi, I've not been sleeved yet, still hoop jumpn. Ive been reading so many threads and forums just to make sure that my decision is not a bad one. Let me see how to put this. Do any of u post ops feel like you're still dieting? Except this time since the surgery is irreversible, you have no choice but to maintain it? For example, I've read for the mist part that its really a lifestyle change agaii bad eating habits, learning to make better choices, nd I totally agree nd accept that, but there are people who are complaining of stalls and not losing weight anymore that they've started doing a 5:2 diet, I think that's the name of it. Since I'm not familiar w it, I won't say much against it bc I don't know y postops use it, other than from what ive read. I don't want to have Such a major surgery and still have to do a fad diet. I want the tool to help me however its suppose to and I'm rdy to do the work, but the thot of dieting the way we all use too scares me. Can anyone explain or comment concerning my thots nd that 5:2 diet? Thx and my h continued success to us all:)) Dee Dee
  20. DeezJeanz

    What is the 5:2 plan?

Amen...I just started a thread about this same aspect. So hopefully some postops can explain y they do it if the sleeve was suppose to be the tool that helps, so maybe they can shed some info to help me understand it b4 I get surgery bc I don't want to have it knowing I'll still b dieting:/
