So glad everything went OK for you! It really is easier than you think.

My turn for the endoscopy today
You will be fine, I promise! I had an endo/colo on 7/11. It was no biggie at all. Just a teeny bit of a scratchy throat from the tube being down there. The worst thing was the bowel prep solution the night before for the colonoscopy. I woke up within 10 minutes after they were finished. Best of luck!

Cold drinks
I had surgery on Monday also, and I can drink liquids at any temp. I've had cold, room temp, and warm. They all go down fine, but the cold drinks feel kinda weird going down. Not painful or anything, just weird. Feels like that until it gets all the way down and then goes away.

The time has finally come!!! All packed and leaving at 8 am for the hospital. Not nervous at all, but excited for this step in my journey. Can't wait to be on the other side.- Sleeved 7/19 need some advice..
Yup!! Me too! They are packed in my bag and ready to go tomorrow!- Protein Powder & Hot Cereal Problem
Protein will definitely clump up if the liquid is too hot. Try to get the liquid between 130 and 140F. It shouldn't be any hotter than 140F.- july 2013 sleevers
Got my pantry and fridge stocked up, and did most of the cleaning yesterday. I'll finish cleaning today and pack my bag. Tomorrow I will be with my Corvette club at an event so that will occupy my mind and chill me out.- Sleeve Day
Best of luck!- july 2013 sleevers

Congratulations!! That is awesome news! Mine is on the 22nd also.- Conquering my fear of the gastroenterologist little TMI
Update! The pathology report from the endoscopy came back negative! I had the barium enema procedure done this morning and my doctor's office called back with the results saying that everything was negative!! SO!!!......we are full steam ahead for surgery on Monday, 7/22! I couldn't be happier!! :)- I'm outta here!
Good luck!- Finally my day!
Good luck and let us know how you are doing as soon as you can.- HELP - Charlotte NC - Need a PCP!
I'm so glad everything worked out for you! Best of luck!- How fast do you drink your protein shakes?
The Silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk comes in half gallons in the refrigerated section near the other milks, or you can also buy it unrefrigerated in quart brick packs. I have found both at Walmart. Only 30 calories per 8 oz. I do a double shake in the morning. 8 oz Water plus 8 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, add 2 scoops of Syntax nectar chocolate Truffle Protein powder, and a few ice cubes and shake it in my Blender Bottle. REALLY GOOD!!!!- Upper GI endoscopy question
I had an endo/colo last Thursday....really....it was a piece of cake. The only bad thing was the bowel prep process the day before the colonoscopy. Everything else was fine. I had a very slight scratchy throat afterwards, but it was gone by the next morning. Don't worry...you will be out for the procedure and everything will be OK.- I'm on day 5 of pre op and starving!
I'm on day six also, and it can really suck sometimes. I try to distract myself when it really bugs me out and that works pretty well. When I do get through it, I feel very empowered and proud of myself. If anything, this is a good mindset learning experience prior to getting sleeved.- Lost 52 pounds - nine weeks
Being off the meds is fantastic!!! Congratulations! I can't wait to experience that freedom! Your after pic is AWESOME!!!- Conquering my fear of the gastroenterologist little TMI
Thanks guys!! Just got off the phone with my docs nurse and my barium enema is scheduled for 7/17 at 8 am. At least the prep for this procedure isn't as brutal as it was for the colonoscopy. I am most grateful for that! I can get through the procedure...a little discomfort but no biggie.- Putting egg protein into hot things
I don't think you should have the liquid to which you are adding the Protein heated to no more than 130 or 140F. The protein will curdle if it's hotter than that. Yes, some of the protein will stay in little clumps, but what I do is warm up my chicken broth to the correct temp in the microwave in a Blender Bottle, (use a thermometer to make sure its between 130 and 140F), drop in the whisk ball, then add my one scoop of unjury chicken broth Protein powder. shake it up and it will get rid of those little clumps. Really yummy....you don't taste the protein at all.- Conquering my fear of the gastroenterologist little TMI
Ok...back home after my double whammy procedure today! Everything went pretty smoothly and I was well taken care of. However, I did have a "floppy" colon, so even though I was thoroughly cleaned out, they couldn't go as far up as they normally do. SOOO.....lucky me again!.....I get to go in yet again for a barium enema, and I'll be awake for that one. The endoscopy also revealed a linear ulcer in my stomach, and Dr. Gersin i going to wait for the exact results on that one on Monday. Depending on where the ulcer is, he may be able to do the sleeve on the 22nd if it's in the part of my stomach that will be cut out. If the ulcer is on the line that would be folded over and sewn, he will wait to do the sleeve until the ulcer is healed, which all in all means 6 weeks of Prevacid and a six week minimum delay for my sleeve. I know it's for the best and I trust him completely, but I am totally bummed out. - july 2013 sleevers
