I am Shelby!! I am 23 and I live with my NEW husband, out 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs. We just recently got married (June 22) and he's very supportive about my journey, although quit the big guy himself!! I am VERY close to my family, I lived with my parents up until I was 21. They helped me come to the conclusion of dropping out of high school when I was 16 and helped me get my GED shortly after. I've been working every since. I've had lots of jobs but no careers, so 3 years ago I enrolled in college for business management. I love bookwork and numbers and frankly, ordering people around lol. I hope to one day have a career related to... WHO KNOWS! At first I wanted to run my own restaurant but after watching close family fail at it, I know now it may not pay the best, so maybe something food/restaurant related. That being said I have a never ending love of food. My mother was a cook at a restaurant since 2 years before I was born. She taught me to respect food and how to make it last for little to no cost. My dad makes decent money drilling wells and septic systems but it seems we never had "enough", so that is why I started working at such a young age. Currently I work or a company called REM, which cares for mentally handicapped people. I am passionate about it and love making people feel good and loved! I am an animal lover of obsessive amounts lol. Growing up we have had ANY animal you can imagine. About 3 years ago the pitbull breed first came into my life and has never left. I currently have 1 full and 1 mixed pitbull and I think they are just the greatest dogs ever. I love all dogs but these guys are just special! I love the outdoors and staying active, which my weight clearly doesn't show, but I really do enjoy it. I'm a fish out of Water and love competitive weight lifting, kayaking, wake boarding, bike polo, frisbee golf, softball and camping to name a few. I have battled serious depression at such a young age and it was all centrally related to my weight and obesity. I was so big for so long that I started to LIKE how big I was, and I called myself a BBW and seeked out men who had big girl fetishes, well I am still proud of who I am but I am no longer TRYING to be a BBW, I want to be healthy and start a family very soon!!! And I want to be an active and fit mom!!!

And I had supper at my parents tonight (fish, mashed potatoes and green beans) and I never realized how FAST PEOPLE EAT! My brother, his girlfriend, my mom and my dad were DONE with platefuls of food within 15 min. Done cleared and dishes done. I had eaten 3 bites by that time and looked up to see I was alone!!!! I pointed it out and my mom was like "wow you never realize that when your the one doing it!!"

Never thought it was going to be so hard to eat slow. Was cleared for puréed/mushy as tolerated and on my list was Cheerios made soggy in milk... First couple bites were slow and I chewed, and they were small bites, but then habit set in and I shoveled THREE bites into my mouth at one!!!!! I caught myself before I swallowed and I swallowed in 3 smaller portions but man I felt like I was in 6th grade and about to miss the bus!!!!!

People supporting everyone without negative opinions? Wouldn't THAT be something. I can give a big f you to people who wanna try to cut me down. Everyone who's been sleeved knows how ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING this process is. Surgery is scary no matter what, but a 2 hours surgery topped with months of PRE surgery and months of healing, and truly never being "the same" again? Anyone who can submit themselves to that is ALREADY strong. I've been attacked for even asking questions about OTHER people's cheating, I haven't even thought of cheating yet because fricken Popsicles hurt still!!! So who are these 3 year veterans to judge me and say because I WASN'T self pay that this surgery does mean as much to me?!?! HOW DARE THEY. I started pursuing this surgery in January of 2012. I had to see a nutritionist for 12 months and lose a considerable amount of weight, I had to see a psychologist for 6 months and have my brain and insides picked apart by a judgmental stranger. I think the world is full of hateful, vengeful, and rude people and what better place to find them than hiding behind a keyboard? If they're so insecure with their AMAZING weight loss than go ahead and cut other people down, but in the long run, your the one who will die alone because you've alienated yourself from every friend you had.
Note: no one on THIS blog has been so harsh but I woke up this morning to multiple personal messages from some HATEFUL people and I'm speaking out for all the people who've been attacked!!!!!
Thanks to those who HAVE been supportive. When I'm laying on the bathroom floor wanting to polish off a bottle of Vicodin, YOUR the people who are going to lift me up and brush me off.
