  1. I thought a low BMI started around 30. I have talked to two doctors and both said I needed to have a BMI of at least 30 in order to have the sleeve. Now I realize in the "real" world this is not a low BMI but on this forum it would be. I guess we understand that a low BMI is the lowest BMI you could have in order to qualify for surgery.

  2. I have a low BMI and I really want to have this surgery in February. The problem is that my husband is very much against it. He says I can lose weight without surgery. I told him he was right! I can lose weight but I can't keep it off! I have lost the same 50 pounds over and over again. I am so tired of losing weight and gaining weight and feeling ashamed for gaining it back.

  3. I am trying to make a decision about what doctor to use and I am so confused , even after reading many threads. I was thinking about Dr. Cabera in Tijuana, Dr. Gilberto Gonzalez in Guadalajara, or Dr.Illan with Baja Bariatrics. I am just wondering what your experiences are . I appreciate any advice I can get . This whole process has been very frustrating and I really need to just make a decision on a Dr. and move forward.

  4. Hi everyone, I live near Atlanta ,Ga. I have decided to have a gastric sleeve in Mexico.I am a school teacher and have United Healthcare Ins, but they won' t cover any weight loss procedures on our school system's policy so I will have to self pay. Since I live close to Atlanta I need to find the best place to go in Mexico with a good price...yes money is a factor...I know my health is important but being a teacher I have to consider price...any information would be greatly appreciated.
