  1. Good job on the loss. I totally understand about the stall I'm currently in one as well ARGH!
  2. WORK IT OUT! I'm so happy for you!
  3. I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and working out 4 days a week with my trainer and doing cardio 6 days a week. I'm hungry all the time which makes me afraid that I will start to gain the weight back. I've also noticed that the amount of food that I consume at one time has increased. My Dietitian wants me to eat meals of 2-3 oz 7 times a day every 3hrs consisting of high Protein and good carbs that will keep me satiated. I told the dietitian about my Special K high protein cereal/crack obsession;I can eat this all day long, she told me to get it out my house and never buy it again because it's obviously a trigger food. I'm so scared of stretching my sleeve and gaining the weight back. I'm 287 today down from 384 on surgery. Anyone going or has gone through this. All advise and comments are welcome. PHEW!

  11. Thanks guys I went to the campus today to pick up my course books and that's when my anxiety kicked. Today I've been getting great advice from many resources I didn't realize I had. One friend reminded me that I am not an island...it's really funny how old thoughts and habits can creep in so stealth like. I really appreciate everyone's advice.
  12. I'm 3 months post op and I have been working out 6 days a week including walking/jogging 3-4 miles a day. The spring semester starts tomorrow and I'm really nervous about losing focus of my eating habits and exercise routine. I know it may not seem like a big deal to folks who have already gone back to work within a few weeks after surgery, but I'm really afraid I'll lose focus and all that I have accomplished will be reversed. Argh! Being a mid forties college student is already tough enough adding my healthy life change to my goals are down right frightening. Any advice would be welcomed.
  13. I was sleeved same day. I was a 4XLT and wore a tight 50 inch pants. Down to a comfy 40 and either an XLT or XXLT, depending on who's making the shirt. I don't have any damn clothes in my closet anymore! Good thing January is clearance month at most clothing stores. Our former big man wardrobes not fitting and Needing smaller sizes is such a awesome problem to have. Right! Good job Bro.
  14. I'm so happy for this thread. I was sleeved on October 14, 2013 pants size was 64 now My pants size is 48 going to 46. Shirt size was 6XL now it's Xl going to a L. I'm ecstatic about shopping at normal size clothing stores Yippie (side note my credit card companies or even happier!) :| lol
  15. I too was nervous about the anesthesia, but after discussing it with my surgeon, my PCP, and doing all of the pre-op testing along with getting myself in the best cardiovascular health possible I went in that operating room and slid onto that operating table with confidence. My point is do what you are suppose to do and leave the doubting and second guessing alone that mess will drive you crazy. Make the decision for yourself and trust your medical team! I wish nothing less than the best for you.
  16. Congrats! thanks everyday brings a new challenge, but what's different from a year ago is never give up approach I adopted over the last 9 1/2 months.
  17. Um.. WOW! That's incredible. Congratulations Thanks we all are on an amazing journey. Wooo hoo!

  19. Just have to share As of today I'm a total of 141 pounds pre & post op down since April 13 when I was 459 lbs. I was sleeved on October 14, 2013 went in at 384.9 lbs. today I am 317 lbs. 18 pounds from being under 300 lbs. over a year ago I never could imagine I would be making this happen. I feel that anything is possible now!
  20. My main addiction is exercising i'm completely committed/obsessed with working out. I can totally relate to shopping in the stores I never could before as well.
  21. I just signed up to start training fir a 5k run which will take place at the end of February! To go from not being able to walk a block to training for a 5K i'm still pinching myself!!!
  22. I'm 11 weeks post op and Some days I throw up 3 to 4 times. I think I'm eating slowly, but evidently not slow enough On days like that plain greek yogurt is the only thing I can tolerate.
