  1. Hi Jessileigh. Thanks for responding. My surgery is set for mid June. I am self pay, so mine will be done as an outpatient procedure. I am a little nervous about that, but I was very impressed with Dr. Miles. I will be glad to get the surgery part behind me. I am trying to prepare myself mentally, but it's hard to imagine how things will be on the other side.

I was the same way I just couldn't imagine. But its wonderful I feel so much better about myself. I can do my job better. And the surgery wasn't bad at all Dr. Miles is amazing. Very little pain. I've lost 51lbs since January and I know some people lose a lot faster but I'm just glad to be getting it off.

  2. So glad to hear you are doing well and off to a great start! I have my first consult w/ Dr. Miles in a few days, and I am so apprehensive and excited all at the same time. I'd love to hear more about your experience w/ Dr. Miles, the hospital, etc. Take care of yourself and happy losing! :-)

Oh I'm so sorry I haven't been on here in a while how did your appointment with Dr Miles go? I absolutely love him! He is a wonderful Dr! The hospital was really good taking care of me and got me everything I needed! I love the nursing staff they were great! This was one of the best decisions of my life. How far along are you into the process now? Hope all is good!

  3. Hello,

I am getting sleeved on March 11th. It is great to hear you are doing well and the weight is coming off.

Is there some advice to prepare for surgery that you can give. Or what major changes to expect post surgery.

I was curious if any of you are doing OK with the post op Protein drink and what you recommend.

    Thanks Much!! and Congrats!!

Congrats! This is an amazing decision you've made!

Its not near as scary as I built it up to be in my mind. I'm still not getting in the full 60g of Protein every day somedays I do some days I don't. The Protein shake doesn't sit well on my stomach so I try to get it in other ways. As far as advice all I have is listen to your nut and dr. about everything and start training your brain now to take small bites of food and to eat more slowly. If you eat to big of bites too fast its painful. This is something you just have to learn as you go for the most part. I'm still lost on lots of things lol but if you ever have any questions just ask there is always someone out there who went through the same thing who can help you out! And good luck with everything!

  4. I'm about 7 weeks post opt and doing well. Unfortunately, despite all the scar cream I put on twice daily, 3 of my 5 scars are still raised and red. I'm not planning to wear a bikini ever, but I still want them to fade into nothingness. I am almost ine Onederland (yesterday I was 200.8!) and my husband's been inspired to get healthier and lose weight. He's taking Phentermine and has lost 10lbs.

I am very pleased with my body right now. I can wear a large coat (used to be in 1X/2X), my ''tight'' jeans are now super loose and practically fall off me now, and I'm sweating a lot less. My sleep apnea is a lot better too. I don't wake up at 4am with a painfully full bladder anymore.

Amazing I'm still in the same size clothes so far but I'm so ready to have my clothes be falling off. My family says they can see my weight loss but I don't see it yet. I'm so happy your husband is starting to get healthy also, I'm going to make mine start eating more healthy when I can eat real food again. Lol oh I'm so ready for that day

  5. Hi Jessie

I'm using Dr. Miles at Alabama weight loss too! Do you attend the support group?

Hi I went to one the same day as my seminar but I haven't been back. I have a 2 year old and its hard to get away from her long enough to go. But I do plan to go some after ny surgery which is January 21st

  6. My family has a vacation planned to Sedona and Grand Canyon 10 days after my surgery that I'm starting to get nervous about. For those of you traveling post surgery did your doc give you any recommendations?

I have the same concerns my family and I are traveling to Ft. Benning Ga. 15 days after my surgery to see my little brother graduate bct. I'm super nervous.

  7. Congratulations!!! Your new chapter will be extremely rewarding. It will be tough at times, but after 2 1/2 months I feel amazing! I wish for you a smooth process. :-)

Thanks!! I'm so excited. The 2 week liquid diet worrys me but I think its just the thought of no food while still having to cook for my husband and baby. I'm so glad that everything is good with you!!

  8. I had my surgery yesterday. Not too bad. Just pretty tired. Not much pain at all so far. Dr miles and Schmidt are the best. Their staff was so nice and caring. I highly recommend them!!

Congrats I'm so happy for you!! Glad everything went well!!
