  1. First checkup with Kent yesterday. 25 pounds so far. Pretty good. It can't go away fast enough for me.

There was an article on the lap-band procedure in today's paper featuring Dr. Henderson.

How are things going for you right now? I'm finally starting to feel a little hungry. He still wants to wait about four more weeks until we discuss a fill.

  2. I did not go to the dinner before the meeting. Two small children and hard to find a babysitter.

I was with my husband and had my surgery two weeks ago. I think we have seen each other in the Dr's office once on your first check up. If I remember right you are in "bandster hell" right now? How are things going now?

First week on full liquids was great but now that I am trying real food my weight loss seems to be slowing way down. It's going to be a long road!!! I wish there was a magic wand.

  3. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Been reading your posts alot but not nearly able to post as often as many of you ( you know who you are). Banded on 7/3. Including pre-op diet.. looks like I am down 21 pounds. They have me doing full liquids now, mostly Carnation sugar free instant Breakfast, Atkins shakes, etc... looking forward to some eggs next week!

Have been able to do some exercising, but over did it a bit today. I need to be more careful, but, I have an impatient personality.

Glad to everyone is doing so well. Keep up the good spirits and great work!!

  4. I was banded yesterday and for the most part had a good experience. I did get sick after waking up and vomited. All I could think of was...Oh No I don't want it to slip.

They gave me every option to control my nausea and it just did not work on me. Mostly, they made me feel very sleepy. They had me drink 30 ccs of Fluid before I could leave.

I have five incisions and I am sore but moving around fairly well today. I can't really feel where the port is but I can see which cut is the largest.

    Good luck to everyone...

  5. My band will be an InaMed band. I do not know the capacity yet, but plan on asking tomorrow morning. I hope I will be the first case. I will get on Wednesday and give all the details.

Pray for my Doctors and for me:cry, a little nervous but ready to get things on the road....

    Here's to a new life!! :biggrin1:

  6. Lynette, Laurend, Bobbert's Mom, Mrs. Horne, Abbey, Cherrybomb, Snaggletooth, and LWesson, you guys are on deck for next week. Oh yeah, oh yeah whoo.gif... Let us know what you're doing (pre-op, shopping, freaking, etc.).

Chimboree...THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK. Keeping the posts rolling and keeping everyone aprized of what is going on.

I feel good and I am ready for my surgery day. I am not so much hungry with my preop diet, as I am bored with the food and would like to eat something "real". I am being strong and I am proud of that.:biggrin1:

Hubby and I have been going to the gym on our lunch hour. I figure I have spent and hour for all my adult life on eating....now it's time to spend an hour trying to get this "extra person" off my back.:amen:

Dini...you are in my prayers. Hang in there, it will get better. I have to say reading the post about your hard times makes me nervous but I will do anything to be normal for once in my life.

Goals: Regular exercise...maybe even an athlete one day. I want to be: A more active mom who has more active children. A good role model. In control of my food and not the other way around. Finally, not looking at a family picture and cringing.

  7. Hey there Danielle. I was waiting to hear from you and I am so excited things went so well.

I have not tried the Calcium supplements yet...but I am forewarned.

Call Lauren the dietician and see about the chicken broth. I meet with her this afternoon and Dr. Cox.

My diet is going o.k. - Day three here and I have a headache but "par-for-the-course" I would guess.

Keep me updated on how things are going. I would enjoy meeting face-to-face sometime!!

  8. I had my gallbladder out three weeks after my second C-Section. My symptoms started about 6 days after giving birth. I did have pain in my front abdominal area below the sternum and in my upper/mid back. More importantly, I was very nauseated and sick twice...not fun when you are cut hip to hip!!

Carla - thanks for the info on the white oak bark. I am a big kidney stone producer...I really try to superhydrate so I have been really worried about the lapband in that respect. Heading to my local health food store tomorrow for more info.

  9. How is everyone feeling about their upcoming new "tool"? I was very nervous before, but I have come into a peaceful feeling about it and my upcoming new life... and I can say I am almost excited. I just want to succeed at weight loss so badly that I am afraid to get my hopes up after a lifetime of non-successes.

  10. Add me to the list!!

I am scheduled for July 3rd also. I will be banded in Brunswick, Georgia by Dr. Harold Kent.

Honestly, I am a huge mix of emotions. Scared, excited, dumbfounded... I really have a hard time with believing that anything will work for me at this point. I HAVE to change this negative attitude of mine regarding this issue. I really look forward to walking this journey with you all!!

  11. I produce kidney stones. Alot lately. I am scheduled for July 3rd and would like to know how you guys handle drinking 6-8 glasses of Water per day. Do I understand correctly that you need to wait one hour after eating? I want to be successful!! Any advise is appreciated.

Also, I wonder if anyone has had lithotripsy and had a lapband in place?
