  1. Hi everyone. I'm new here. I was sleeved on Tuesday 6/4/13. I was up and walking after surgery and then started on fluids the day after. I'm home now and I'm able to take a one ounce every 5 minutes. I'm paranoid about not getting fluids in and becoming dehydrated. I'm also able to eat jello and Popsicles at a slow pace with no problem. Protein takes a little while. I was able to get 8oz (30g protein) of a shake in yesterday also. I'm worried that my stomach is yelling at me to bring it on! Is this too much too soon? Maybe my stomach isn't as small as I'd hoped it would be

    Am I doomed?

Actually, I haven't been tired. It's actually been kind of opposite. I'm sore but I have tons if energy. I think having two kids under three factors in to that though.
  3. I bought a huge jug from Costco. It's Isopure Whey. I got the vanilla flavor. it tastes like cake batter ice cream to me.
  4. Yes! I came home as soon as they asked me if I was ready! Being at home and trying to take in liquids and all that is way easier than being at the hospital. Is optifast a protein shake? I tried some protein yesterday, took forever but I want to focus on staying hydrated
  5. How are you feeling?!?!
  6. I'm all checked into the hospital and dressed out in my gown! In super nervous. And hungry. And excited! Good luck to everyone else today getting sleeved. Wish me luck!

    I'm here!

Oh I bet! The dry mouth was the worst! I've never been so thirsty. I was just brought a tub of fluids to pick from and a ton of medicine cups. It was the most exciting time ever! Haha. I feel like such a nerd to have gotten so excited by the sight of a beverage. Pain wise: I'm feeling great. I've been walking a whole lot. They keep asking me if I've passed any gas. Which I haven't, so hopefully it won't hurt when I do. I keep the medicine button close by when I get stomach spasms. I got no sleep last night. Someone kept coding and I couldn't help but worry so I stayed up. I did ask of it was a bariatric patient. It was not. Eased my mind a little (sounds terrible I know) Keep me updated!

    I'm here!

Hi everyone! I wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes! Besides some pain that's totally tolerable with meds and being horribly thirsty, I feel great! My mouth is soooooo dry but not allowed to sip on anything till tomorrow.

    I'm here!

Thank you everyone! I just met my anesthesiologist. She was very Christina Yang from Greys Anatomy. Kinda dry humor straight to the point. I liked her Ahhhhhhh! This is all so real now. I can't help but to feel as though I should run out of here.

    Weigh in?

I'm nervous too!!! I've been having a tough time with the preop diet being that this is the third time doing it. I had two previous surgery dates that were cancelled because my Endo wouldn't clear me. So when they set this date (the 4th) I was like 'yeah right!' And BOOM I was actually cleared with my Endo. So I had been eating lightly not knowing that it was a go this time. I've been on full liquids since Tuesday though. My doc said that would be fine since I've already lost a good amount since my first visit to now.

    Weigh in?

My surgery is Tuesday also!!! How are you feeling? I've been losing a whole lot of sleep! To answer your question: Yes, I believe they will most definitely weigh you. My surgeons office told me that they want to see the weight from your first visit and compare it with day of surgery weight. See how well the preop diet did for you etc etc. Every office and practice is different though!
  17. Right now is a great time to "train" your mind and tunny to the new lifestyle change you're about to take on. Try and enforce the no drinking and eating rule. Practice sipping. Cut out all problematic foods. I wish I would've done better preop now that I'm just a few days away. I've had a really tough time. But you have all the chance to be well prepped!

    Lost my focus

Yes, hopefully that was a typo. If its not, your body has gone into starvation mode and is harboring onto all it has to "stay alive" I wish you luck!
  19. Congratulations!!! I started my whole process in January also. Even though my insurance approved quicker than I thought it would, I've had two surgery dates cancelled because of Endo. My day is finally this coming Tuesday! I can't wait for you to have a date! It hits hard after you do. Don't be nervous! Everything will be alright! Who am I kidding, I'm nervous too. Good luck!
  20. Crazy town!! That's been my favorite line yet! Not even! I think it's very potable that you'll reach your goal! I love that a lot of us are the same build. Good luck! When are you scheduled?
  21. I'd love to know also! My sleeve is scheduled for June 4th. My goal is to lose about 70-80 lbs. I state this journey (surgery requirements ad all that jazz) at 227. I'm 5'2 so that's pretty heavy. I'm down to 212 now and would love to be at about 140ish. I know that when you have more weight to drop is comes off faster. I hope I am teach my goal weight sooner than later
