  1. I had a stall that lasted 30 days month 4. It sucked. During that stall' date=' however, I dropped a clothing size which, to me, is more important than a number on the scale. Keep up the good work! The stall will break and the scale will move again. :)[/quote']

I cannot tell you how much I needed to hear this! I have completed my 4th month and have been stalled for over 30 days. My clothes are getting bigger but I have been teetering between 201 and 199. I think I handle the scale very well but it is starting to get in my head so I came on here and searched stalls. I knew about the week 3 stall and needed to see if anyone else had gone through a big stall at this stage. I track everything in MFP and have started exercising some but started to doubt myself. I don't mind losing slow because I feel it is better for my skin but I have had about enough of this!

  2. for me it sucks because I think I'm getting pre menopausal... So I never know when it's coming :( Like this week I wanted to eat! I mean eat! It's like my sleeve "relaxes" and I can consume mass amounts. I think uh oh there goes my restriction I'm broken! Then the period comes and I go back to normal again??

I am in the same exact boat. It is kind of like going back to when you first started because you are sure when to plan for it and it is a whole new hormone cocktail to get accustomed to....fun times!

  3. Lol we always seem to be PMSing at the same time :P I went to a specialty store today to pick up a few things and had to call my husband to ask him to tell me to walk away from a red velvet cake they had!!! The bastard' date=' said "oh you should buy it" :P [/quote']

    Count me in too!

  4. Oh girls that is a whole other thread!!! lol those Cookies are deadly! I love them too much and have to make sure I don't eat them everyday they are high calorie but really big.. I think they are 170 calories per cookie! Two per pack.. Look at the evil man on the box! Lol.. he knows he has you hooked :Phttp://www.bariatricchoice.com/trioplex-bariatric-protein-cookies-chocolatechip-box.html

That is a pretty cheesy grin that the "Chef" has on his face. I don't think they are that bad for 18 grams of Protein. On those days when I have to have something sweet I've been eating Anna's cookie crisps or Biscoff's Lotus Cookies. The only problem with these two choice is they have no nutritional value. The Anna's are 6 cookies for 133 calories, and 4 of the Biscoff's for 150 (I usually only have 2). Luckily there is only one week out of the month that I "need" to eat those, going to have to try the Protein cookies!

  5. I'm joining too' date=' will be shocked if I can do 100 but I intend to do whatever I can. My name is Urvashi (rhymes with Hershey). Or you can call me by my Starbucks name which is Gracie, my dogs name. I got tired of spelling Urvashi :)[/quote']

I thought I was the only person that used their dog's name at restaurants! I am Greer but used to be Sally at Firehouse subs!!

  6. On day 4 of my 10 day pre-surgery liquid diet my husband drank/ate my broth from some won-ton Soup. I had a melt down and he said, "I"ll never touch your food bowl again". (Comparing me to a dog growling over it's food bowl) He was being funny and it WAS funny to me. I had gone to Sam's and bought a ridiculous amount of food for him, the girl child and all of my family that was going to be here for my surgery and he ate the ONE thing in the whole dang house that I could have!! I think I scared the girl child because she immediately started saying she would go and get more for me.

  7. I suppose that is possible' date=' but I don't know that my personality would really fit that scenario. My aversion to doing my makeup, fixing my hair, and wearing fussy clothes seems to be driven by practicality. There have been several times over the years that I've decided I was going to start wearing makeup. New job, getting older, whatever the reason. I'll spend a bunch of money on new stuff (because the stuff I had on hand got old enough that it probably wasn't really safe to use), and then use it for a week, maybe two or three, and that was it. The makeup goes back in the drawer and I go back to staying in bed until the last possible minute! As I'm nearing my adult low weight again (It's only been since 2010), I am finding that I'm actually getting the urge to by women's clothes (not frilly, crap-ified (you'll see that word in Webster soon!) stuff, just items that aren't decidedly masculine or gender neutral). Men's clothes have typically fit me better, and I'm a total tomboy anyway so it works for me. Plus, since I have to dress to work outdoors everyday, being willing to wear men's clothes makes it a little easier to find good, outdoor wear. (Since everybody knows, fat women don't go outside! And if they do, they don't actually do anything, so outdoor wear for plus size women doesn't' actually need to be functional.) We'll see as my body changes, whether or not my body shape and frame will fit women's cuts or men's cuts better. I think I'll refrain from holding my breath, though. :) Yikes! I think I'd better go to bed! Have a good night![/quote']

I am your kindred spirit with make-up! I have been wearing it more lately because I am putting a firming cream on my face and I shame myself into wearing it since I am already putting something on my face. I too have made resolutions with the new year or a birthday which usually lasted a week or so. I am hoping that this will help me do better!

  8. That sounds miserable! I'm at a complete loss for advice. (If you knew me' date=' you'd know how alien that is for me. I'm very, very good at telling people what they should do ;) ) But seriously, what might you do to alleviate the discomfort? Does it still hurt if you don't put your hair up? Is it bad enough that you might take Tylenol or something for it occasionally? Wish I had something more useful to you than empathy... (Where the heck is the "hug" emoticon???)[/quote']

    Daydra-

I appreciate the empathy and the hug! I try not to put my hair up mainly because I am trying to go easy on it right now. I just grit my teeth and get ready when I start to take it down. Being prepared for it helps some. I am just looking at it as part of the process and it isn't anything I can't stand or work around. Figuring out what was going on helped the most.

  9. My scalp hurts as well. Especially when I change directions (like flick it to the opposite side). I just thought I was being crazy! LOL

I thought I was crazy and that is why I had to search the internet for it. By the time I got through all of the horrible things that could be wrong if you have "scalp pain" I was pretty excited to see "excessive hair loss" as one of the reasons. Just like everything in life perspective makes all the difference!

  10. I am losing a handful of hair everyday and more than I can even think about when I wash it. I started with enough hair for two or three people and hope I wind up with at least enough for me. The thing that I haven't seen anyone else talk about on this thread is my scalp HURTS! If I put my hair up at all (pin bangs or pony tail) I have to put my hand to my scalp when I take it down because it hurts so bad. I looked it up and supposedly it is a side effect of excessive Hair loss.< /p>

  11. I was sleeved on June 21st and I reached Nederland today!!!!! I haven't been here in 6 or 7 years. I was out of town for the weekend so I wasn't able to weigh for a few days, knew I was getting close but was still shocked to see 199 this morning! HW 259 SW 257 CW 199. I was 239 day of surgery.

  12. This may sound really odd but every time I do laundry lately all I can think about it how I can't wait to pick up a thin hanger to hang my clothes on instead of having to make sure I get a big one so that my shirts won't fall off of the hanger or worrying that my pants will break the thinner hangers! Some of my new shirts fit so much better on the hanger and it is almost stupid how happy it makes me.

It is funny to me what can make me FEEL successful.

  13. II had purchased the opurity Vitamins. I took one on a Monday and felt sick and had hot saliva fill my mouth but didn't get sick. Thought maybe it was an empty stomach issue so the next morning I took it after eating and threw up in my trash can at work. I bought pre-natal gummie vitamins at Wal-Mart and have taken almost the whole bottle with no problems. I take the Viactiv calcium chews, really like the chocolate but not so crazy about the caramel ones. Just started taking Biotin but would like some feedback on dosage. I just picked a bottle since I hadn't researched it properly before I went to the store.

  14. Trust me' date=' I feel like a fatty eating so much more than everyone else here...

...until I remember that my journey is my own. What works for ME is what matters (along with my awesome doc's advice!). Good luck!![/quote']

I have found that I lose more when I eat around 1,000 calories. I was not given a calorie range and a really low Protein range (50-60 grams). The protein range seems extremely low to me so I don't worry too much when I exceed it.

  15. Ok' date=' so I experienced 2 minor victories today and am kinda happy about them.

    1. Got on the scale and realized I now weigh less ( by 4.5 lbs) than my hubby <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />. Grant it he is 8 inches taller than me but none the less, I no longer out weigh him.

    2. Today I went shopping at the MALL! Walked all corridors ( minus the food court) on both floors without having to knock anyone down trying to sit at a bench <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />. (Coming from the girl who only a few short months ago could barely walk into a grocery store from the parking lot, then had to cling to the cart for dear life just to make it around the small market).

P.s. it has been over 4 years since I have even attempted to shop at the mall. My hubby said I was weaving all over the walk way as I kept turning my head this way and that to take in all of the sights. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />[/quote']

I have weighed less than my husband for about a week now and it is a great NSV!!! I swear it has put a bounce in my step. I can also empathize with the joy of being able to walk. Before surgery my hips were killing me, since surgery I have only had a little pain very few times. I feel free!

  16. I am 5 weeks out today. I have been feeling like my temper is hot or things can make me want to cry al of the sudden. (I hardly EVER cry.). I don't know if it is related to surgery or if it is regular female hormone problems. Not really liking the roller coaster ride. Some of it might be the 30 to 40 days of rain we have had...
