  1. I had this happen after gallbladder surgery. I was teaching a class and looked down and my shirt was full of blood. It is very scary and when I called the Dr. they seemed so unconcerned I was really freaked out. When I went to them after school they explained that it needed to work itself out of my body. Whew!
  2. I have told no one and plan to keep it that way. I am a very private person and just feel more comfortable this way. I am of the opinion that you have to decide for yourself what to do. Once you tell, you can't take it back.
  3. Another member posted this link to an interesting article. I think it was RickM. I feel your frustration. You might want to check this out http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html This may be what is happening to you. Best wishes to you!
  4. I want to do a zip line! Not sure where, but somewhere tropical would be great.
  5. Chike protein shakes have 28 grms protein and taste great. Order on-line. Love the chocolate, vanilla, and iced coffee flavors! They have fruit flavors too.
  6. I also gained weight after surgery. I had only lost 6 lbs pre-op and had followed my diets faithfully. I have always had trouble loosing weight. After surgery I went back up to my starting weight before the pre-op diet, gaining back the 6lbs. Anyway, I could see that I was retaining HUGE amounts of water. It and the weight came off over the next 2 weeks. I am 3.5 weeks out and have now lost 28lbs. Hope this helps you! Just stay the course and the weight will come off even if you are a slow loser. Remember it is not sprint. It's a marathon. Good luck.
  7. I like Chike Iced Coffee flavored protein shakes. Great for breakfast if you like cold drinks at breakfast. http://www.chikenutrition.com/
  8. Ladies, A drain is no big deal. I had one and you may have some pain at the incision site but it is not severe. You will also be given pain killers after your surgery. I had my surgery in Mexico and the drain was in for 2 days. I used a lanyard to hold it while I showered or when I walked. When it was removed, it was a non-event, no pain or trauma. The nurses come and empty it several times a day and I was able to empty it easily after discharge from the hospital. I had surgery on a Monday, stayed in hospital til Wednesday noon, and spent 2 nights in a hotel. The drain was removed Wednesday night. You will be fine! Good luck to all of you.
  9. I teach kindergarten in Florida and was sleeved on June 17th. The teacher's group is a great idea!
  10. When I was there, the popsicles were green and they were horrible...inedible! When we were leaving they asked us for comment on our stay and what they could improve. We told them about the popsicles and they said that they had LOTS of complaints. Hope they have changed them. :tongue2:
  11. You look marvelous! Wow!
  12. Cottage cheese with salsa, pineapple, peaches, pears, applesauce, meatballs, tomatoes (with salt and pepper) and with pasta sauce! Love it!
  13. There is also the theory that as fat cells empty they fill with water causing short term weight gain or lack of loss. The fat cells then over time release the water and weight loss is the result.
  14. Unjury protein, all flavors are great!
  15. The Unjury products are great tasting. Love all of the flavors. Just make sure that when you make the chicken soup the temperature of the water is less that 140 degrees. If not then the protien coagulates (yes..I did this!)
  16. I am two weeks out today. For the past three days I am having a problem with going often and I think I may have become lactose intolerant. I am also have a little nausea. I was making protien shakes with milk and having SF pudding, and yogurt. I just cut out all the milk yesterday and we shall see what happens. I finished my course of antibiotics and haven't taken the antacid given to me at the hospital to take with the antibiotics. Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem. Hope you feel better.
  17. I am 12 days out and I don't want to eat at all. I am not getting enough protein or fluids. I know I have to do better but I find it hard to want anything. Right know I am having 1-2 Unjury shakes a day and about 40 oz of Gatorade and Mio flavored water. I hope I can get motivated to tolerate and have more. Was anyone else like this??
  18. How far out from surgery were you when you were ready for these??? They look great! Thanks!
  19. I have only shared my surgery with my husband and one other person. I am a very private person and don't feel the need to share. When I need to share I come to a place where I know there will be support....this board. When people start to notice my weight loss I will put it down to diet and exercise, which will be true. Because you are asking us for advice about this, perhaps you are not ready to tell everyone. People who have told you that you can't untell people are so right. I would advise you to wait until you know the answer to your own question and are comfortable with it. You can always tell later. If someone asks you directly, ask them, "why do you ask?" Then say, "That's interesting!" and you don't even have to give an answer. This is your business and right to keep it so. Good luck and best wishes for a new healthy life!
  20. LOVE these products! Quick delivery too!
  21. Is there anyone else at this compamy that you can speak to and express your concerns? Usually there are several coordinators working and sometimes they help each other out.
  22. Forgot to tell you...Incisions are stitched from the inside and silicone is used on top, except for your drain of course. For me, that is the only incision that has given me a slight amount of pain. I have not needed any pain killers since I came off the IV.
  23. I had Dr. Lopez who works with Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Osuna. Both Dr. Lopez and Dr. Lopez did my surgery. Dr. Ortiz followed up with me one of the days and Dr. Lopez came to my hotel room the last night to check everything out and to tell me about after care and diet. I was extremely happy with them.
