They say money can't buy happiness but I've never been happier! I had the gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico with Dr. Ariel Ortiz on August 12, 2013. I've been fortunate that I haven't had any complications. I've lost 80 lbs. I'm not at the goal weight they set for me, 153. I'm actually 162 lbs at 5'8. When I get much below that I hear comments that I'm looking too thin, etc. Im happy with being in a size 8. I just need to tone up! Exercise has not been a strength for me. The past few months I've really had to remind myself that the sleeve is a tool to losing the weight but that I have to work at making healthy choices and making this a lifestyle change. I can eat anything and could quickly gain the weight back but I love how I feel about myself now. I no longer turn down social events because I'm embarrassed of my body. I'm now a confident independent woman. I'm so thankful I made the decision to trust Dr. Ortiz and get the sleeve!
What a difference a year makes!

I like mixing whipped flavored vodka with flavored water. Taste yummy and I feel like while I'm dehydrating, I'm hydrating! Lol! Yes, I'm a dork! :-)

172. I didn't make my goal but I'm smaller than I've ever been in my adult life so that's a great accomplishment!

I was sleeved on 8/12/13. Pre-op weight was 242, Surgery date was 222, current weight is 174. I'm 5'8. Still want to lose about 20 more and firm up! I haven't been commuted to exercise like I should have been.

After a long stall I finally had a 3lb loss!! Woohoo! Now at 174. Getting off my butt and exercising really does help!

I tried the shakes before my sleeve. They were ok but I obviously didn't stick with it. I don't recall how much Protein they had but you could increase the protein by mixing the powder with skim milk instead of Water but this also increases the calories. The shakes are best blended with milk and ice. I prefer convenience. I like the Premiere Protein Shakes from Sam's the best.

I am at 177. Probably less than a lb lost but I try to ignore what's on the other side of the dot. Ha!
Best wishes everyone!

I was looking through my camera and found a pic of me last Christmas. I knew I was overweight but seeing how round my face was is shocking! I guess I was in denial when I would look in the mirror! I had my sleeve on August 12th. Feeling so much better!!

Thank you!!!!! I'm 5'8. I'm very thankful for my height! Lol! The stockings are on a Santa stand with hooks. I'm not sure what store it came from. It was given to me. Thanks for all the compliments!

Thank you! My losses have been in waves. I've had a couple of 3-4 week stalls already. Those suck. Honestly, exercise is something I need to improve on! I walk on occasion but since it's gotten so cold I haven't done that. I really need to tone up though!
