I was actually the total opposite. They stopped my birth control pills at the hospital and after that I went about 3 months with nothing. I finally started having a period again, but I only have about 2 days of light flow and that's it. I was very worried because the whole reason I went on the pill so many years ago was that I would get horrible cramps to the point that I would physically get sick every month! And I would have it for the full 7 days. Luckily I haven't had any issues.

I use the 4C half lemonaid, half ice tea "totally light" packets.

Congratulations! You were just as beautiful before the surgery and now you have the health as well. From one Occupational Therapist to another, great choice for a career! It's so rewarding to be able to help others in the way that we can. -
I'm with you. Food really doesn't have any appeal any longer. It is literally just nourishment at this point. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow. I had a little issue with eggs before surgery, but now, no way. Also, I do get these little episodes every now and then where I feel as if I could get sick. I've mostly noticed it in the mornings, a good hour or so after I've had anything to eat. It passes after a few minutes and I haven't actually gotten sick yet, but it's hard because sometimes I'm in the middle of a treatment with one of my patients and can't really leave the room!

A glass of white once in a while.

I've pretty much told everyone in my life. I'm not ashamed of my decision at all and, like you, they have all seen me struggle over the years. I've had nothing to positive support from them all.

Congratulations! Great job!

I'm 4 1/2 months out now and I have an atkins bar every morning for Breakfast. They don't give me any trouble. Like I said, in the beginning I definitely would have had to be near a bathroom! It gets better!

That happened to me a little in the beginning. Not so much dizziness, but after eating certain things I would get the stomach grumbles and have to get to the bathroom. I think it is just your new stomach getting used to things.

Well, I did it. I have been losing soooo much hair. I had talked to my hairdresser about letting me know when it was time to cut it. We decided Thursday that it was time to do it before it got really noticeable that it was thinning. So I ended up getting about 5 or 6 inches chopped off! Going to take a little while to get used to, but in the long run it will grow back.

Unfortunately I think most people do. The amount may vary person to person though. I recently read an article in Woman's World magazine that basically said any time you are eating less than 1200 calories for a sustained amount of time, you will lose hair. On a good day I get close to 800, so it was inevitable for me.

So sweet, thank you!

I don't know if you have a Stop and Shop where you live, but I recently found pb2 there.

I found a Nature Valley granola that has 10g of protein for a 1/2 cup. I'll put some in vanilla greek yogurt and have for lunch sometimes. I usually can't finish the whole thing.

Thank you!!

Did yours grow back with the same texture as before? I have a friend who has the bypass surgery years ago and hers grew back curly!

Thank you!

Hi! My surgery was June 10th. Here you go.... 1. I try pretty much whatever I want but usually stick to chicken, turkey, tuna, cheese. I actually just tried beef today (at my parents and my dad made roast beef). No problems with it. 2. My calorie intake is between 500-800/day. Typically average a little over 600. 3. Protein shakes no. I do usually have a Protein Bar for Breakfast though. 4. Down 53.2lbs - just over halfway to my goal. 5. Losing a TON of hair. Started right at 3 months out. Hasn't slowed down yet but hopefully soon!

I know! My first week following surgery I was "only" down 2lbs. I would read these posts from people who lost something crazy like 20lbs and was "what the hell!" lol! Seriously though, you are doing great! Don't sweat it. Well, on second thought, sweating is good!

Why do you need to lose it faster? You have come so far and that is amazing, but we need to remember we didn't put this weight on overnight. It is healthier to lose slower, especially now that the bulk (no pun intended! ) of your weight is gone. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will get there. Remember if you were doing this the "traditional" way of straight diet and exercise without the benefit of the sleeve, you would most likely be a lot further from your goal than you are now. Enjoy your success! You'll get there!!

I also have a little issue with turkey. I can eat it, but not as much as chicken and I sometimes get the foamies.

I'm 16 weeks out and go between 500-700, on a rare occasion might hit 800! -
Great job! You should be very proud of yourself!
